Bay Networks® BaySecure FireWall-1™ integrates the Check Point Technologies Ltd FireWall-1 stateful
inspection technology into routers and includes the Check Point award-winning GUI for the configuration and
management of the firewall on Bay Networks routers. Through this integration, Bay Networks routers provide
the highest level of network access control available.
Product Components
* You need the license serial number affixed to the CD-ROM to obtain a license key from Check Point. Follow
the directions in the package to exchange this serial number for a license key. Use the software on the CD only if
you are installing the FireWall-1 management software for the first time. Otherwise, the CD is extraneous. The
diskette in the CD-ROM package is extraneous and is not used.

Begin by reading
Configuring BaySecure FireWall-1
, which lists and describes the steps necessary to get a
firewall running on the router. This book will refer you to the Check Point documents where appropriate.
Using Software Encryption with BaySecure FireWall-1
To use software encryption with BaySecure FireWall-1, you need the appropriate Bay Networks WAN
Encryption Option.
If you currently use software encryption and plan to upgrade your router image to use BaySecure FireWall-1,
contact the Bay Networks Technical Solutions Center to obtain the appropriate upgrade to Bay Networks WAN
Encryption Option. Your current WAN encryption image is not compatible with this router release.
If you do not have the WAN Encryption Option, contact your Bay Networks sales representative.
