Upgrade Guide
To upgrade your Alexa Control4 Smart Home skill to be able to use the entertainment
controls—including selecting video devices, room commands like play, pause, and stop, and
volume controls—follow these steps:
1. Log into your customer.control4.com account, and in the Automation > Amazon
Alexa page, select the Upgrade button in the Room Audio section.
2. The Alexa Entertainment Upgrade Experience screen will appear and select Next
to continue with the upgrade (or select Cancel to upgrade another time or leave the
Alexa integration as it is).

Following the instructions in Step 1 of the process, open a new browser window to
https://alexa.amazon.com.
In the Smart Home section, select Devices and scroll to the bottom of the page.
Select the Forget All button.
Return to the upgrade experience window, and click Next when done with Step 1.

4. In Step 2 of the Upgrade Experience, in the Amazon Alexa > Smart Home > Devices
window you opened earlier, select Discover.
Select Next in the Upgrade Experience window.
5. In the Upgrade Experience window, click Finish in to close the Upgrade Experience
and go back to the Amazon Alexa Configuration page.

6. In your customer.control4.com account, new devices to control now show up. Under
Entertainment, Enable the rooms and video devices you want to control with Alexa,
select Save, and instruct Alexa to discover devices, "Alexa, discover devices."

To view a full list of available voice commands, including video device control, select
View Voice Commands.

Other new features in the Control4
Smart Home skill
In your list of devices, note that Lighting Scenes and Voice Scenes (if configured by your
dealer) are separated into different categories.
The upgraded Control4 Smart Home skill for Amazon Alexa also controls your locks and fans.
Examples:
"Alexa, what is the status of the Front Door?"
"Alexa, lock the Front Door."
"Alexa, turn on the Living Room fan."
