A cracking sound when compressor starts
or when ready ice drops into ice box Abrupt
clicks when compressor switches on and off.
Automatic Ice maker noises (on some
models):
- Sinceyourappliancehasanautomaticice
maker,youmayhearbuzzing(fromthewater
valve),tricklingwaterandtheclatteroftheice
fallingintothebucket.
The appliance is not working:
• Isthepowercablepluggedintoalivesocket
withthepropervoltage?
• Haveyoucheckedtheprotectiondevicesand
fusesoftheelectricalsysteminyourhome?
If your automatic ice maker does not work (on
some models):
• Hasthefreezerhadenoughtimetobecome
cold?Withanewappliancethismaytake
overnight.
• IstheautomaticicemakerON/OFFbuttonset
toON?
• Makesuretheleveroftheautomaticicemaker,
insidethefreezercompartment,isnotturned
toOFF,i.e.inthehorizontalposition(onsome
models).
• Isthewaterturnedon?Iswatergettingtothe
automaticicemaker?
• Isthereawaterfilterinstalledontheappliance
(onsomemodels)?Thisfiltermaybeclogged
orinstalledincorrectly.First,checkthefilter
installationinstructionstoensurethatthefilter
wasinstalledcorrectlyandisnotclogged.If
installationorcloggingisnotaproblem,calla
qualifiedpersonoratechnician.
If there is water in the defrost pan:
• Thisisnormalinhot,dampweather.Thepan
canevenbehalffull.Makesuretheappliance
islevelsothatthewaterdoesnotoverflow.
If the edges of the appliance cabinet, which
come in contact with the door seal, are warm
to the touch:
• Thisisnormalinhotweatherandwhenthe
compressorisrunning.
If the light does not work:
• Haveyoucheckedtheprotectiondevicesand
fusesoftheelectricalsysteminyourhome?
• Isthepowercablepluggedintoalivesocket
withthepropervoltage?
• Hasthelightbulbburntout?
In the case of burnt-out bulbs:
1. Alwaysunplugtheappliancefromthemains.
2. Seechapter“MaintenanceandCleaning”.
If the motor seems to run too much:
• Isthecondenserfreeofdustandfluff?
• Arethedoorsproperlyclosed?
• Arethedoorsealsproperlyfitted?
• Onhotdaysoriftheroomiswarm,themotor
naturallyrunslonger.
• Iftheappliancedoorhasbeenleftopenfora
whileoriflargeamountsoffoodhavebeen
stored,themotorwillrunlongerinordertocool
downtheinterioroftheappliance.
• Motorrunningtimedependsondifferentthings:
numberofdooropenings,amountoffood
stored,temperatureoftheroom,settingofthe
temperaturecontrols.
If the appliance temperature is too high:
• Aretheappliancecontrolscorrectlyset?
• Hasalargeamountoffoodbeenaddedtothe
appliance?
• Checkthatthedoorsarenotopenedtoooften.
• Checkthatthedoorscloseproperly.
• Makesurethatairflowventsinsidethe
compartmentarenotblocked,asthisprevents
thecirculationofcoldair.
If there is moisture build-up:
• Makesurethatairflowventsinsidethe
compartmentarenotblocked,asthisprevents
thecirculationofair.
• Makesurethatthefoodisproperlypackaged.
Dryanydampnessonfoodcontainersbefore
placingthemintheappliance.
• Checkthatthedoorsarenotopenedtoooften.
Whenthedoorisopened,humidityfromthe
roomairenterstheappliance.Themoreoften
thedoorisopened,thefasterhumiditybuilds
up,especiallywhentheroomitselfisvery
humid.
• Iftheroomisveryhumid,itisnormalfor
moisturetobuildupinsidetherefrigerator.
If the doors do not open and close properly:
• Checkthatfoodpackagesarenotblockingthe
door.
• Checkthattheinternalpartsorautomaticice
makerarenotoutofposition.
• Checkthatthedoorsealsarenotdirtyorsticky.
• Ensuretheapplianceislevel.
