Check one of the preset dosage values
(detergent calibration) and set it correctly, if applicable.
Let us assume you wish to check and set, where applicable, the preset dosage values for all programmes for the General detergent group.
Note: Do not take into account the local water hardness and the usual soil level of your washing in this phase. Simply follow the
steps set out below.
The concentration of the standard detergent often differs considerably. For this reason, you need to adjust the
settings of your washing machine to the dosage details of your detergent.
Your washing machine is supplied with 3 preset dosage values for 3 different detergent types (general - delicates
- dark colours). Every detergent type is assigned to a programme group (see table on the right). Every one of
the 3 preset values must be corrected and adjusted to the dosage recommendations on the packaging of your
detergent, which you wish to you use for every programme group.
A - check
First check on the package of your general detergent what dosage quantity is stated for medium water hardness
(or medium/soft) or for the medium soil level (or medium/minor). Use this value in step 3 of the process that is
described in the following section
(see B - settings).

This function determines the recommended quantity of detergent for your washing for you. With the dosing aid, you avoid overdosage and • save detergent
• protect the environment
• protect sensitive skin
Before using the device for the first time 1. Compare the dosage recommendations of your detergent with the preset dosage values of your washing machine. If they do not match, please set the values of your washing
machine accordingly.
Ensure that your dosage display can work optimally.
2. Please check whether the water hardness in your region coincides with the preset water hardness of your washing machine and correct the presettings, if applicable.

If you wish to reset the settings of the detergent quantity to the original status
Carry out these steps for all 3 programme groups.
It is sufficient to make the settings in ONE programme per programme group. The value is automatically transferred to the other programmes within this programme group. Example: If you save a value for Hot/Colour, it is automatically
transferred to all programmes of the General group.
If you wish to change the dosage values saved (if you, for instance, are using a different detergent type), proceed in the same way; the previously saved value is replaced by the new value for the programme of the group selected.
Press the Dosage display key for a
couple of seconds.
The bottle symbol lights up and
the currently saved dosage value is
displayed.
Compare the preset value on the display
with the previously determined dosage

water hardness and a medium soil level).
If the values deviate, you can adjust the
value displayed with the + and - keys.
Confirm by pressing OK button. The
new detergent values for the group were

A - determine your local water hardness
When washing with hard water, you need more detergent than with soft water. For that reason, you must check whether the preset water hardness corresponds to the local water hardness.
You can enquire with your waterworks about the local water hardness or use the test strip enclosed with the Calgon brochure, which is supplied with the washing machine (if available).
The test strip contains 4 green squares,
which go red depending on the water
hardness:

1 red square
B - correct water hardness settings
Your washing machine is set to the SOFT water hardness by standard. If the water hardness in your region is medium or hard, you need to correct the water hardness set of your washing machine in accordance with the description
below.
Set the programme selection switch to
any programme and thereby switch the
machine on
Simultaneously press the Dosing aid
and + keys for a couple of seconds.

A horizontal bar appears on the
display. This is the symbol for the SOFT
water hardness degree.
Change the water hardness with
the + and - keys to Medium or Hard, if
applicable.
Press OK to confirm and save.
Ok
Tear off the paper packaging in one
corner and take out the test strip.
