Hot liquid in a jug may cause burns if
the jug breaks. To avoid breakage, take
the following precautions:
•
Do not allow all the liquid to evaporate.
Do not heat an empty jug.
• Do not use a broken jug or one with a
loose or weakened handle. In the event
of any signs of deterioration, replace it. A
crack or chip could break the jug or
contaminate the liquid with fragments of
glass.
• Do not clean the jug with any sort of
abrasive scourer or cleaning item which
could scratch or weaken the glass.
• The jug is designed for use with this
appliance. Do not place the jug on or
near to any hot surface (cooker, burner,
hotplate, microwave oven, etc.).
• Do not place the jug on any wet or cold
surface.
• Avoid forceful handling or knocks.
4. BEFORE FIRST USE
5. OPERATION
1. Unwrap the packaging carefully and
remove the coffee machine.
2. Dismantle the filter holder (6) and jug lid
(7) and clean them, along with the jug (8)
and the anti-drip valve holder (4), in
lukewarm soapy water. Rinse well, dry
and reassemble them, fitting the anti-
drip valve support correctly into the filter
holder.
3. Clean the hotplate (9) with a damp cloth
and do not immerse the coffee machine
in water or any other liquid.
4. Before making coffee for the first time,
you should make up one or two pots
using just water, without coffee or filter,
to clean any dust from the coffee
machine so that the flavour of the coffee
will not be affected.
Important advice: the effect will be better
if cold water is used at the outset to
make the coffee.
Place the coffee machine on an even
surface, not near an edge. When making
coffee, the jug should be placed on the
hotplate with the lid on.
Filling the water tank
Open the lid of the water tank (1), pour the
desired amount of water into the jug
(8),
and then pour all the water from the jug into
the water tank. The measurement marks in
the tank will show how much water has
been poured in. Once the water pipe is
aligned with the centre of the filter holder,
make sure you place the jug on the hotplate
with the lid on.
N.B: When the coffee is made, there will be
less coffee than the amount of water
originally poured due to the fact that some
of the water will have been absorbed by the
permanent filter, ground coffee and steam.
Preparing coffee
1.
Open the upper lid (1), insert the water
pipe
(11) into the tank, remove the filter
holder, place filter in the filter holder and
place the desired amount of ground
coffee in the permanent filter. After
making the coffee, remove the coffee
filter and clean the filter holder with
water.
2. Coffee industry standards state that the
proportion of coffee to water is 7g of
