WARNING
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. Turn off power at main electrical service box before starting installation.
2. Electrical connections must comply with local code ordinances or national
electrical codes.
3. Make sure the installation site you choose allows the fan blades to rotate freely
without any obstructions.
4. When mounting the fan on a ceiling outlet box, use an approved (CSA for Canada
and UL for U.S.) ceiling fan box marked “FOR FAN SUPPORT”.
Ensure the outlet box is securely installed in place such that it is able to
support at least the fan weight.
5. WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury,
mount fan only to an outlet box marked acceptable for fan support and use
mounting screws provided with the outlet box. Most outlet boxes commonly
used for the support of lighting fixtures are not acceptable for fan support
and may need to be replaced. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt.
- To reduce the risk of personal injury DO NOT bend the blade brackets when
installing the brackets, balancing the blades or cleaning the fan. Also, DO NOT
insert foreign objects in between rotating fan blades.
- Mount with the lowest moving parts at least 6' 11" (2.1 m) above floor or grade level.
- DO NOT operate reversing switch while fan blades are in motion. Fan must be
turned off and rotating blades stopped, reverse china pulled, the speed chain pulled
again to start in the opposite direction.
To Reduce The Risk Of Fire Or Electric Shock, Do Not Use This Fan With Any Solid-State
Speed Control Device.
INSTRUCTIONS
A ceiling fan has a complete internal switching system for total operation by
way of pull chains. On a fan/light combination, three pull chains will exist: One for
light, on and off. The second is for fan speeds. This will be marked ( ) on the
fan switch housing.
First pull turns the fan on at high speed.
Second pull turns the fan on at medium speed.
Third pull turns the fan on at low speed.
Fourth pull turns the fan off.
The third pull chain is for Forward/Reverse (Note: Some models come with a
slide switch instead of a pull chain). This setting would usually be changed twice
per year. Downdraft in summer to create a cooling effect.
Updraft in winter to circulate the hot air off the ceiling and back towards the floor
without creating a wind chill.

FLUSH MOUNT
- Remove rubber ring (Q) from canopy (C). (See Fig. 2c)
- Remove the yoke screws and lock washers (K) which correspond to
the holes in the canopy (C).
- Position canopy (C) over the holes on motor (I) and secure with the
same screws and lock washers (K) removed in the previous step.

Step 1 - DOWNROD MOUNT
- Using a screwdriver, loosen the 2 upper jam screws (J) on the yoke.
- Position downrod (G) inside canopy (C).
- Route wires exiting yoke on motor (I) through downrod (G) and
ceiling canopy (C).
- Position downrod (G)/canopy (C) into yoke and align holes in yoke
and downrod (G).
- Insert bolt (H) through hole in yoke and downrod (G). Be careful
not to damage or cut the fan wires.
- Install bolt (H). Secure with cotter pin (H) through hole in the end
of the bolt (H).
- Secure downrod (G) in position by tightening the 2 upper jam
screws (J).
NOTE: All set screws must be checked and
re-tightened where necessary, before and after installation.

Step 2 - INSTALL MOUNTING BRACKET
- Install J-hook (R) through centre of outlet box and into the wooden joist.
- Secure mounting bracket (A) to metal outlet box. (Fig. 3a)
- Hang the safety cable onto the J-hook (R).
- Hang fan on temporary hook and install safety cable. (Fig. 3b)

Step 3 - CONNECTING THE (GREEN) GROUND WIRE
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock,
or personal injury, mount to UL/CSA listed outlet box
marked acceptable for fan support and use mounting
screws provided with the outlet box.
There are several different wiring combinations that can be used to
control your ceiling fan depending on your specific requirements.
CAUTION
- Connect ground wire from outlet box to green wire from mounting
bracket (A) and downrod using a UL/CSA approved marette
(not supplied). (Fig. 4a)
- Connect ground wire from outlet box to green wire from mounting
bracket (A) using a UL/CSA approved marette (not supplied). (Fig. 4b)

Step 4 - MOUNTING FAN ASSEMBLY
NOTE: Once ground wires are connected, carefully tuck
wires and marette into the metal outlet box making sure that
the wires are clear of the hemisphere and downrod when
positioned in mounting bracket (Downrod Mount Only).

CONNECTING BLACK, WHITE, AND (RED OR BLUE) WIRES
- Connect white wire from outlet
box to white wire from fan using
marette (not supplied).
- Connect black wire from outlet
box to black wire from fan plus
(red or blue wire) using a marette.
NOTE: A red or blue wire would
be power for a light kit if
applicable.
- Place two screws and lock washers (B) on mounting plate (marked b
on Fig. 6a) corresponding to slots in canopy (C). Screw in two turns.
- Position canopy (C) against mounting plate aligning slots to screws
(marked b on Fig. 6a) then turn to lock.
- Position and tighten the two screws and washers (marked a on
Fig. 6a) then tighten the two screws (marked b on Fig. 6a).

Step 6 - MOUNT BLADE BRACKETS TO BLADES
NOTE: When installing fan on sloped ceiling, make sure
tab on hanger bracket faces towards the top of the slope.
Depending on the slope, a longer downrod may be required
to prevent fan blades from hitting the ceiling.
WARNING: Failure to seat tab in groove could cause damage to
electrical wires and possible shock or fire hazard.
Step 5 - ENGAGE HEMISPHERE (Downrod Mount Only)
- Carefully rotate fan assembly until groove in hemisphere locks over
tab of canopy assembly. (Fig. 6b)

- Take out hardware containing

through flat washer (T), hex nut (S)
and blade (N).
- Align with corresponding hole
in blade bracket (M).
- Repeat with (2) remaining

NOTE: Electrical diagrams are for reference only. Light kits
that are not packed with the fan must be CSA/UL Listed and
marked approval for use with the model fan you are installing.
Switches must be CSA/UL General Use switches. Refer to the
instructions packaged with the light kits and switches for
proper assembly.

- Take out hardware containing motor screws and lock washers (L) .
- Position motor screws and lock washer (L) in blade brackets (M),
and secure to motor (I). Make sure all screws are tightened securely.
- Install proper wattage and type
of bulb (not provided) on
light kit.
- Place glass (O) into light kit by a gentle
clockwise twist and lock as ( Fig. 10)Fig. 10

TROUBLESHOOTING
TROUBLE SUGGESTIONS
1. Fan will - Check wiring connections to fan.
not start - Check fuses and circuit breakers.
- Check wiring connections in switch housing.
CAUTION: Turn power off for last two items.
2. Fan sounds - Check to make sure that all screws in motor housing
noisy are snug.
- Check to make sure that blade bracket screws are tight.
- Check to make sure that marettes in switch housing
are not rattling against wall of switch housing.
- If fan has a light kit make sure switch housing screws
and set screws are tight.
- Some fan motors are sensitive to signals from solid
state variable controls. If solid state controller is
used, change to an alternative control.
- Allow a 24-hour break-in period to eliminate
most noises.
3. Fan wobbles - Check that all blades are screwed firmly into blade
brackets.
- Check that blade brackets are secured firmly to motor.
- Check distance from tip of blades to ceiling. Gently
bend up or down the blade brackets until all distances
are the same.
- Check distance between blade tip to blade tip. All
measurements should be equal. Loosen blade screws
and position blade until even then retighten.
- Check that the downrod hemisphere notch is engaged
in canopy.
- Check to make sure that jam screws in downrod are
tightened.
- Make sure canopy and mounting bracket are tightened
securely to wooden joist.
- Make sure wooden blades are not warped.

may be supplied with the product that are expected to become inoperative or unusable after a
reasonable period of use;
d) This warranty will not apply to routine maintenance and consumable items such as, but not limited
to, blades, tune-ups or adjustments;
e) This warranty will not apply where damage is caused by repairs made or attempted by others
(i.e. persons not authorized by the manufacturer);
f) This warranty will not apply to any product that was sold to the original purchaser as a
reconditioned or refurbished product (unless otherwise specified in writing);
g) This warranty will not apply to any product or part thereof if any part from another manufacturer
is installed therein or any repairs or alterations have been made or attempted by unauthorized
persons;
h) This warranty will not apply to normal deterioration of the exterior finish, such as, but not limited
to, scratches, dents, paint chips, or to any corrosion or discolouring by heat, abrasive and chemical
cleaners; and
i) This warranty will not apply to component parts sold by and identified as the product of another
company, which shall be covered under the product manufacturer’s warranty, if any.

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and may not be transferred. Neither the retailer nor
the manufacturer shall be liable for any other expense, loss or damage, including, without limitation,

CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ
- Afin de réduire les risques de blessures, ne pliez PAS les supports de pale lors de l’installation des
supports, de l’équilibrage des pales ou du nettoyage du ventilateur. De plus, n’insérez PAS d’objets
entre les pales en rotation.
- Fixez les pièces mobiles les plus basses à au moins 6pi 11po (2,1m) au-dessus du sol.
- N’utilisez PAS l’interrupteur de marche arrière pendant que les pales du ventilateur sont en
mouvement. Le ventilateur doit être éteint et les pales arrêtées. Tirez sur la tirette de rotation
inversée, puis sur la tirette de vitesse pour faire tourner le ventilateur en sens inverse.
- Pour réduire les risques d’incendie ou de choc électrique, n’utilisez pas ce ventilateur avec un
dispositif de contrôle de la vitesse à semi-conducteurs.
INSTRUCTIONS
Un ventilateur de plafond comprend un système interne intégral permettant une utilisation complète
à l’aide de tirettes. Sur un ventilateur avec une lampe, il y a trois tirettes: Une pour allumer et éteindre la
lumière. Une deuxième pour la vitesse du ventilateur. Ce sera indiqué par ( ) sur le boîtier de
l’interrupteur du ventilateur.
Le premier coup active le ventilateur à haute vitesse.
Le deuxième coup active le ventilateur à vitesse moyenne.
Le troisième coup active le ventilateur à basse vitesse.
Le quatrième coup éteint le ventilateur.
Une troisième pour la marche avant/arrière (Remarque: certains modèles comportent un
interrupteur coulissant au lieu d’une tirette). Ce réglage est habituellement changé deux fois par
année. Circulation d’air vers le bas l’été afin de créer un effet rafraîchissant.
Circulation d’air vers le haut en hiver pour faire circuler l’air chaud du plafond vers le plancher
sans créer un courant d’air.
1. Éteignez le courant de la boîte de branchement principale avant de commencer l’installation.
2. Les connexions électriques doivent respecter le code local ou le code national de l’électricité.
3. Assurez-vous que l’emplacement d’installation que vous choisissez permet aux pales du
ventilateur de tourner librement sans entrave.
4. Lorsque vous fixez le ventilateur à un coffret de prise de courant au plafond, utilisez un coffret pour
ventilateurs approuvé (CSA pour le Canada et UL pour les États-Unis) portant la mention «POUR
LE SOUTIEN DES VENTILATEURS». Assurez-vous que le coffret de prise de courant est
bien installé et est en mesure de soutenir au moins le poids du ventilateur.
5. AVERTISSEMENT: Pour réduire les risques d’incendie, de décharge électrique ou de blessures,
fixez le ventilateur uniquement à un coffret de prise de courant indiqué comme approprié pour
soutenir un ventilateur et utilisez les vis de montage fournies avec le coffret. La plupart des coffrets
de prise de courant généralement utilisés pour fixer des luminaires ne sont pas appropriés pour
soutenir un ventilateur; vous pourriez donc devoir le remplacer. Consultez un électricien qualifié au
besoin.

- Retirez l’anneau en caoutchouc (Q) du boîtier (C). (Voir la figure2c.)
- Retirez les vis et les rondelles de sécurité (K) du manche, qui correspondent aux
trous dans le boîtier (C).
- Positionnez le boîtier (C) au-dessus des trous sur le moteur (I) et fixez-le avec les
mêmes vis et rondelles de sécurité (K) retirées à l’étape précédente.

Étape 1 - ASSEMBLAGE AVEC LA TIGE
- À l’aide d’un tournevis, dévissez les deux vis de blocage supérieures (J) sur le manche.
- Positionnez la tige (G) à l’intérieur du boîtier (C).
- Faites passer les fils sortant du manche sur le moteur (I) dans la tige (G) et le boîtier de
plafond (C).
- Positionnez la tige (G)/le boîtier (C) dans le manche et alignez les trous dans le manche
et la tige (G).
- Insérez un boulon (H) à travers la manche et la tige (G). Assurez-vous de ne pas
endommager ou couper les fils du ventilateur.
- Installez et un boulon (H). Fixez-les en place à l’aide d’une goupille fendue (H) insérée
dans le trou au bout du boulon (H).
- Fixez la tige (G) en place en serrant les deux vis de blocage supérieures (J).
REMARQUE: Toutes les vis doivent être vérifiées et resserrées au
besoin avant et après l’installation.

Étape 2 – INSTALLER LE SUPPORT DE MONTAGE
- Installez le crochet en J (R) à travers le centre du coffret de prise de courant et dans
la solive en bois.
- Fixez le support de montage (A) au coffret de prise de courant en métal. (Figure 3a)
- Suspendez le câble de sécurité sur le crochet en J (R).
- Suspendez le ventilateur sur un crochet temporaire et installez le câble de sécurité.

Étape 3 - CONNECTER LE FIL DE MISE À LA TERRE (VERT)
AVERTISSEMENT: Pour réduire les risques d’incendie, de décharge
électrique ou de blessures, fixer à un coffret de prise de courant
homologué UL/CSA qui peut supporter un ventilateur et utiliser les vis de
montage fournies avec le coffret de prise de courant.
Il y a plusieurs combinaisons de câblage différentes qui peuvent être utilisées
pour commander votre ventilateur de plafond, selon vos besoins précis.
ATTENTION
- Connectez le fil de mise à la terre du coffret de prise de courant au fil vert du support
de montage (A) et à la tige à l’aide d’un connecteur Marette approuvé par l’UL/CSA
(non compris). (Figure 4a)
- Reliez le fil de mise à la terre du coffret de prise de courant au fil vert du support de
montage (A) à l’aide d’un connecteur Marette approuvé par l’UL/CSA (non compris).

Étape 4 - ASSEMBLAGE DU VENTILATEUR
REMARQUE: Une fois que les fils de mise à la terre sont connectés, glissez
soigneusement les fils et le connecteur Marette dans le coffret de prise de courant
en métal en vous assurant que les fils ne touchent pas à l’hémisphère ou la tige
lorsqu’ils sont positionnés dans le support de montage (assemblage avec tige seulement).
REMARQUE: Une fois que les fils sont connectés, glissez soigneusement
les fils et les connecteurs Marette dans le coffret de prise de courant en métal
en vous assurant que les fils ne touchent pas à l’hémisphère ou la tige lorsqu’ils
sont positionnés dans le support de montage (assemblage avec tige seulement).
CONNECTER LES FILS NOIRS, BLANCS ET (ROUGES OU BLEUS)
- Reliez le fil blanc du coffret de prise de
courant au fil blanc du ventilateur à l’aide
d’un connecteur Marette (non compris).
- Reliez le fil noir du coffret de prise de
courant au fil noir du ventilateur et au fil
(rouge ou bleu) à l’aide d’un connecteur
Marette.
REMARQUE: Le fil rouge ou bleu
fournirait l’alimentation pour un ensemble
d’éclairage, s’il y a lieu.
- Placez deux vis et rondelles de sécurité (B) sur la plaque de fixation (b sur la figure6a)
correspondant aux fentes dans le boîtier (C). Vissez deux tours.
- Positionnez le boîtier (C) contre la plaque de fixation en alignant les fentes et les vis
(b sur la figure6a), puis tournez pour verrouiller.
- Positionnez et serrez les deux vis et rondelles (a sur la figure6a), puis serrez les deux
