6.3 DESCRIPTION OF PARAMETERS
[CoDE] – Access code (123):
Required if you want to change the parameters for advanced configuration. To view the set
parameters only, it is not necessary to insert this code.
[,F01] – Preferential indication:
This function allows you to choose the temperature that would normally be displayed on the
display. You can select between:
[,DIF]– T1-T2 Differential. Shows how many degrees is the difference between
the solar collector (T1) and the pool or thermal reservoir (T2).
[,,T1]– Temperature of collectors (T1).
[,,T2]– Temperature of pool/thermal reservoir (T2).
[,F02] – Differential (T1-T2) to turn on the pump:
Allows you to configure the temperature difference between the solar collector and the pool
/ thermal reservoir to trigger the circulation pump. As the collectors receive energy, the T1
sensor temperature increases when this temperature is above a certain value of the T2
sensor temperature, the pump is turned on and circulates the heated water, storing it in the
reservoir.
[,F03] – Differential (T1-T2) to turn off the pump:
Allows you to configure the temperature difference between the solar collector and the pool
/ thermal reservoir to turn off the circulation pump. With the pump on, the temperature
difference between the collector and the reservoir (T1-T2) tends to decrease. When this
value falls to a certain value, the pump is turned off, stopping the water flow.
[,F04]– Antifreeze temperature (T1) to turn on the pump:
When the temperature of collectors (T1) is too low (ex.: winter nights) the pump is turned on,
depending on the temperature set this parameter to prevent the water from freezing in the
solar collector and damaging them. The hysteresis of this control is fixed and set at 2.0ºC.
To disable this function moves the setting to the minimum until [,,no] appears.
[,F05] – Minimum time of antifreeze:
This minimum time of pump on serves as security to ensure that water passes by all
collectors. Even if the temperature of T1 sensor exceeds the antifreeze temperature
(parameter [,F04]), the controller regards the time set in this parameter. This function is
widely used in large projects by the amount of installed plates. To disable this function
moves the setting to the minimum until [,,no]appears.
[,F06]– Overheating temperature (T1) to turn off the pump:
When the temperature in the collector (T1) is above the value set in this parameter, the
pump is turned off to prevent the heated water circulating through the pipes and damaging
them, if PVC pipes are used for example. The hysteresis of this control is fixed and set at
2.0ºC.
[,F07] – Cooling (T2):
Aims to cool the pool / thermal reservoir at night when the heating temperature ([temp]
parameter) is exceeded and the difference between the collector (T1) and reservoir (T2)
reaches -4.0°C (fixed). The pump is then turned on, using the collector as a radiator to cool
the pool water. When the differential (T1-T2) is less than -2,0ºC (fixed) or temperature (T2)
falls below the heating temperature of the reservoir ([temp] parameter) the pump is
switched off.
[,F08] – Vacuum tube function:
When this feature is enabled, drives the pump for 20 seconds (fixed) every 30 minutes
(fixed) that the pump is switched off, while the collector temperature (T1) is above 20.0°C
(fixed) and the temperature differential (T1-T2) is positive.
There are models of vacuum tube collectors that do not allow direct measurement of the
collector temperature, for lack of foresight for immersion sensors.
For a correct measurement of the water temperature at the outlet of the collector is
necessary that a minimum water flow occurs. For this, the solar circuit must activate the
pump at regular intervals, so that heated water from the collector reaches the sensor T1.
Note: The controller prioritizes the protection settings (overheating), ignoring the function
of the vacuum tube, upon the occurrence thereof.
[,F09] – Hysteresis of heating temperature of pool / reservoir (T2) [temp]
parameter):
If the pump is stopped by heating of the reservoir ([temp]), using this function you can
define a temperature range within which the pump will remain off.
For example: If adjusted [temp]=[,30.0]and [,F09]=[,,1.0], pool / thermal
reservoir heating will turn off when the temperature of the T2 sensor reaches 30.0°C, and
again just calling to heat when it drops below 29.0°C (30.0 - 1.0 = 29.0).
[,F10]– Offset of T1 sensor indication:
[,F11]– Offset of T2 sensor indication:
To compensate possible misreading of T1 (collector) and T2 (reservoir) sensors from
sensor replacement or modification of cable length.
[,F12] – Time to lock functions:
Sets the time that must be held down the increment key to lock / unlock the parameter
changes. For further information see section 5.5 - Lock of Functions To disable this
function moves the setting to the minimum until [,,no] appears.
[,F13] – Display backlight intensity:
Sets the backlight intensity of the display to set its contrast.

6.4 UNIT SELECTION
To set the temperature unit that will operate the instrument, you must access the [Code]
function (see Section 6.1 for information about accessing this function) insert 231 and
press the SET key. The user can select the unit by pressing or keys, where the
messages are alternate. Press the SET key to confirm the desired unit.
Then the message [----] is displayed and the unit corresponding icon will turn
on.
Note: When the unit is replaced, the controller loads the default values for its parameters,
[,FAC], being necessary to perform the configuration of the same.
