Instructions
Removing the Old Tape Seal
1. Use the side cutters to remove a portion of the strain relief
retainer from the assembly to expose the screw on the tape
seal plug.
Tools and Materials Needed
1. Tape Seal Kit (#116806), Includes:
• Strain Relief
• Strain Relief Retainer
• Silicone Grease
• Tape Seal Plug with O-rings
• 2 x #4 Self Tapping Screw
• Assembly Tool #T0596
• 2 x Brass Tape Terminations with O-rings
• Tape Seal Plug Spacer
• #4-40 Screw
2. Side-Cutter Pliers
3. Phillips Screwdriver
4. Silicone Sealant
5. Arbor Press or Rubber Mallet
Notes: If there is dirt or debris on the tape, you can use a mild
phosphate-free detergent (non-abrasive) to clean it.
If any amount of the tape needs to be cut/trimmed, you must
account for a new zero point accordingly.
Note: See separate Probe Replacement Instructions for removal and
re-attachment of the probe.
2. Remove the screw from the tape seal plug using the Phillips
screwdriver.
3. Pull the tape seal plug assembly off of the tape.
4. Slide the strain relief off of the tape.
Assembling the New Tape Seal
5. Slide the new strain relief retainer onto the new strain
relief. Lubricate the end of the strain relief with the silicone
grease.
6. Slide the strain relief and retainer onto the tape.
7. Ensure the three o-rings are installed on the tape seal plug
and slide tape into the tape seal plug.
