Whenyouuseextremesettingwiththe3DSurroundfunctiononheavilyreverberatedaudiomaterial,the
reverbcansoundunnaturalandtoointense.Thisiscausedbythewaystereoreverbsoperate.Rememb-

TheWPR2Denoiserfunctionisuniversallyapplicableandsuitedforalltypesofinstrum-
entandcomplexsignals.ThealgorithmoftheDenoiserfunctiondoesnotproduceunpleasantsideeffectslike
pumpingornoisetrails.Theparametersareforalargepartchosenautomaticallydependingontheprogram
materialandthetwoparameters,whichcanbeaccessedwiththeDENOISERkey.

TheoptimaladjustmentoftheSENSITIVITYparameterdependsstronglyonthetypeofnoiseandprogr-
ammaterial.TakethetimetosettheSENSITIVITYparameterwithcare.
2.1.7TheCrossoverparameter
Theadvantageofmultibandprocessingisinthedivisionoftheaudiospectrumintoseveralbands,inorderto
avoidthenegativeeffectsofspectralintermodulation.Thechoiceofthecrossoverfrequencywhichdivides
thebandshasinfluenceonhowtheprocessingtakesplace.Withcomplexcompositesignalsthecrossover
frequencyshouldbeinthebassarea(200Hze.g.inordertopreventmodulationofthemidandhighfre-
quencyrangebytheenergyproducedinthebassarea).Withsingleinstrumentsandvocalshowever,ahigher
crossoverfrequencyismoredesireable(2kHz),sincethecenterpointofthepowerspectrumisshiftedhere.
Forcompleteflexibilitythecrossoverfrequencycanbesetanywherefrom20Hzto20kHz,in31steps
accordingtotheISOfrequencies.ThisenablestheWPR2tobeusednotonlyasamasteri-
ngdevicebutalsoasaprocessorforsingleinstrumentsandvocals.Ifyousetthecrossoverfrequencyto
themaximumorminimumvalue(20Hzor20kHz),theWPR2willoperateasabroadb-
andcompressor.
Feelfreetoexperimentwithdifferentcrossoverfrequencysettingsandprettysoonafeelingfortheright
settingwillarise,makingtheWPR2thatmuchmoreeffectiveanduseful.
2.2Selectingpresets
TheWPR2stores50user-definablepresets.Afterpower-up,theunitautomaticallyrecalls
thepresetlastused.Toselectanotherpreset,makesurethatthePRESETkeyispressedonce.Usethejog
wheeltoenterthepresetnumberofyourchoice.Turnthewheelclockwisetoincrementthepresetnumber,or
counter-clockwisetodecrementit.
IfyoupressthekeyonceyoucanaccesstPROCESSparameter,whichdetermines

PleasenotethattheWPR2generallyactivatesthenewlyselectedpresetsonlyafterabo-utonesecond,
whichisindicatedbyadotinthelowerrightcornerofthedisplay.Afterloadingthedata,theWPR2
enablesthepresetandthedotdisappears.Thisbriefinterruptionavoidsthedirectactivationofevery
preset,asyouscrollthroughthepresetlistwiththejogwheel.Thus,theWPR2makessurethatno
"unwanted"presetsareloadedunintentionally.Additionally,youcanrotatethejogwheelathighspeedand
stillhavethetimetospecificallyselectthepresetofyourchoice,insteadofanyofits"neighbours".
WhentheDENOISERkeyispressedonce,theTHRESHOLDcanbeset.ThisfunctionreflectstheNoiseGate
andisusedtoremoveunwantednoiseduringthepauses.WhentheDenoiserTHRESHOLDisbeingsetthe
