Installation:
This headset spacer light must be installed by a professional bicycle mechanic . See WARNINGS.
To operate the light:
Initially, before operating the light, you must remove the battery tab located under the batteries.
To do it, simply lift up the rubber covering and pull the small plastic tab under the battery out.
Replace the cover over the batteries.
The switch that turns the light on and off is located on the front of the spacer in the area
indicated above. Pressing down on the covering activates the switch.
Turn the light off, when you are not using it, to preserve battery energy.
To change batteries:
When the light unit dims or fails to light properly, replace the two batteries with new ones. The
batteries can be replaced without removing the light.
1. Lift the flexible cover up and slide out the two batteries from the holder. Do not pry the
batteries; you will damage the holder.
2. Stack together two new CR2032 type batteries into the holder. The positive side of each
batteries must face the “+” marking on the holder as shown.
3. Replace the cover and make sure it is fitted properly around the spacer body.
WARNINGS
INTENDED USE: Intended to be used as the first spacer above the headset on 1 1/8” compatible
headset systems. This light is intended to be used as a dusk or daytime running light. It
is intended to draw attention to you while riding and increase the chance of other cyclists,
pedestrians and motorists seeing your bike approaching. Because the light is a lower intensity,
it is NOT a replacement/substitute for higher intensity lights such as those that mount to a
handlebar or helmet.
COMPATABILITY & INSTALLATION: For your safety, the headset spacer light must be installed
by a professional bike mechanic experienced with headset installations. The illustration above
is simplified. Installation on your bike may require changes to headset/stem/compression
assembly components for safe compatability. Do not attempt to install the light yourself!!
WHILE RIDING: Come to a stop before changing the operating mode. Press the power switch
only when your bike is stopped. If you don’t you can lose control of the bike and have an
accident.
HIGHER RISKS RIDING AT NIGHT: The risk of an accident, particularly being struck by a motor
vehicle, is much higher at night. If you choose to accept this risk, improve your odds with a
proper lighting system, strobe light, light colored reflective clothing and careful riding. Seek the
advice of an experienced bicycle commuter at your retailer.
ANY LIGHTING SYSTEM CAN FAIL WITHOUT WARNING. Ride cautiously, with a good margin for
error. Many experienced cyclists use two lighting systems, one helmet mounted, one mounted
on the bicycle.
DO NOT REMOVE LOCALLY REQUIRED REFLECTOR SYSTEM FROM YOUR BIKE.
YOU CAN BE SEVERELY INJURED, PARALYZED OR KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT IF YOU IGNORE THESE
WARNINGS.
NOTICE
- This product is rain-proof only. Do not submerge or power wash.
- Turn unit OFF after use.
