1.0 Introduction

hybrid sensor that measures the outdoor conditions such as
temperature, pressure, altitude, compass directions and wind
speed.
Your WINDMASTER provides the essential information at the
time during you are performing hiking, climbing, wind surfing
and other

Your WINDMASTER is carefully designed and produced for
outdoor activities, in order to utilize the functions of your
, it is advisable to read the following:
- Read the instruction before you use the WindMaster.
- Avoid exposing your WindMaster to extreme conditions
for an unreasonable time.

- Keep the propeller close to prevent dirt get into it.

2.0 The WindMaster Parts and Its Functions
Mode Button
- To select among real Time and different time keeping
modes.
- Press and hold for 2 seconds enter setting modes.
- To recall lap memories in Chronograph Mode.
- To switch between Timer 1 and Timer 2.
- To start / stop the chronograph and timer.
- To switch between units in sensor measurement modes.
- To select the items in setting modes.
- To select among real Time and different sensor modes.

Date/ Time Display
- Date / Time Display shows the day of week, month and
day in the top row of the display.
- T he b ot to m r ow o f t he d is pl ay s ho ws c ur re nt t im e
in hour, minute and second.
- The bar indicators on the left and right sides of the display
stimulate the elapse of second.
Pressure Tendency/ Time Display
- The 1st column of the graph shows the relative pressure
of the last 6 to 9 hours.
- The 2nd column of the graph shows the relative pressure
of the last 3 to 6 hours.
- The 3rd column of the graph shows the relative pressure
of the last 3 hours.
- Check the 'Implication of the Pressure Tendency Graph'
section for more detail.

To Set the Time and Date
- To set the date and time, press and hold the [adjust]
button for 2 seconds to change from Date/ Time Display
or Pressure Tendency/Time Display to Date/Ti me Setting
Display.
- The second digits flash on the display because they are
being selected.
The Setting Procedures
- Press [start/stop] button to change the selection as in the
Real Time Setting Sequence.

- While display contrast setting is being selected, press the
[select] button to select the contrast from 0 to 15. 15
gives a darker display; 0 gives a lighter display.
- After you set the time, date, display format and display
contrast, press the [adjust] button to exit the Real Ti me
Setting Sequence.
- If no any key operation in the setting display for about 3
minut es , t he WindMa st er will r et urn to th e R e al Time
Mode automatically

Alarm Time Mode
- Alarm Ti me Mode has two sub-displays: Alarm Time 1
and the Alarm Time 2.
- Alarm Time 1 and Alarm Time 2 work independently.
- P r e s s t h e [ s t a r t / s t o p ] b u t t o n t o s w i t c h b e t w e e n
the Alarm Time 1 Display and Alarm Time 2 Display.
To Set the Alarm and Chime On or Off
- In the Alarm Time 1 Display or Alarm Ti me 2 Display,
press the [select] button to change the ON/OFF status of
the hourly chime and alarm.
- When the alarm is ON, the WindMaster sounds at
the preset alarm time each day.
- To stop the sound, press any button to stop the alarm.
- W h en t h e c hi m e i s O N , t he W i n dM a s te r b e e p s
every hour on the hour.
5.1 Alarm Time Mode - Setting the Alarm Time 1 and 2
To Set The Alarm Time 1
- Press and hold the [adjust] button for 2 seconds to change
from Alarm Ti me1 Display to Alarm Ti me 1 Setting Display.
- The minute digits flash on the display because it is being
selected.
The Setting Procedures
- Press [start/stop] button to change the selection in the
Alarm Time Setting Sequence.
- While any digits are flashing (selected), press [select] but to n
to increase the number. Hold down the [select] button to
change the number at a higher speed.
- After you set the alarm time, press the [adjust] button to exit
the setting sequence.
- If no any key operation in the setting display for about 3
minutes, the WindMaster will return to the Alarm Time Mode
automatically
- Set the Alarm Time 2 in the same manner as Alarm Ti me 1.

6.0 Chronograph Mode - Start/Stop the Chronograph
Chronograph Mode
- The Chronograph measures elapsed times and lap-
times.
- The display shows the 'All Zeros' display when the
chronograph is being selected the first time or the
chronograph is reset.
- The chronograph resolution in 1/100 second.
To Start/Stop the Chronograph
- When the chronograph is idle, press the [start/stop]
b u t t o n t o s t a r t t h e c h r o n o g r a p h ; p r e s s t h e
[ s t a r t / s t o p ] b u t t o n o n c e a g a i n t o s t o p t h e
chronograph.
- The elapsed time between the 2-[start/stop]-keystoke
will be appeared on the display.
- Repeat the steps mentioned above to get another set
of elapsed time.
To Reset the Chronograph
- Record a new set of elapsed time, press and hold
t he [ s el e c t ] b u t t on f o r 2 s e co n d s to r e set t h e
c h r o n o g r a p h t o ' A l l Z e r o s ' d i s p l a y a f t e r t h e
chronograph was stopped.

7.0 Timer Mode - Timer 1 and Timer 2 Display (Yacht Racing Timer)
Timer Mode
- Ti mer Mode has two sub-displays: Ti mer 1 Display and
Timer 2 (Yacht Racing Timer) Display.
- Press the [adjust] button once to switch between the
Timer 1 Display and Timer 2 Display.
To set the Timer 1
- P r e s s t h e [ s e l e c t ] b u t t o n t o s e l e c t o n e o f t h e 5
preset values and the existing User Pre-set Value (UPV)
as in the
- To set the values other than the 5 preset values and the
existing UPV, check the 'To Set the User Pre-set Value'
section.

To Record Lap Time
- The Chronograph Mode allows the user to record up to
10 lap times.
- If the user intends to record a lap time, press the [select]
bu t ton on ce t o re cor d th e la p-t ime a nd c han ge t he
display to the Lap Display, in the chronograph Running
Display.
- The lap number and lap time will appear on the display
fo r 5 s eco nds . Du ri ng t he l ap n umb er a nd l ap t ime
displaying, the chronograph is counting continuously.
- Repeat t h e steps menti o ned above t o get another l ap
time.
To Recall Lap-Time
- If the user intends to review the recorded lap times, press
the [adjust] button to review the recorded lap times,
in the chronograph Stop Display.
To Reset Lap-Time
- To record a new set of Lap Time record, press and hold
t h e [ s e l e c t ] b u t t o n f o r 2 s e c o n d s t o r e s e t a l l
chronograph time lap memories, in the chronograph Stop
Display.
To Use the Timer 1
- When the Timer 1 is set, press the [start/stop] button to
start the timer. Press the [start/stop] button again to stop
the timer.
- The countdown time will be appeared on the display.
- Th e ti me r s ta rt s t o b ee p e ve ry second when i t i s 5
seconds to the end of the countdown.
- As countdown time is reached, a long beep last for 2
se co nds w ill b e h ear d. Pr es si ng a ny bu tt on in t his
period will terminate the beep sound prematurely. User
preset time will be loaded automatically at the end of the
beep sound.
To Reset the Timer 1
- Press and hold the [select] button for 2 seconds to reset
the timer after it was stopped.

7.3 Timer Mode - Setting the Timer 2 (Yacht Racing Timer)
The Timer 2 - Yacht Racing Timer
- T i m e r 2 i s a t h r e e - p h a s e c o u n t d o w n t i m e r, i t i s
specially designed for yacht racing or those activities that
require time phases controlling.
- When the Timer 2 is being selected, you can made use
of the 3-phase-timer to control the countdown time in
3 separate phases.
- The left digits indicate the 1st time phase.
- The middle digits indicate the 2nd time phase.
- The right digits indicate the 3rd time phase.
To set the Timer 2 - Yacht Timer
- To set the Timer 2, press and hold the [adjust] button to
change the display from Ti mer 2 Display to Timer 2
Setting Display.
- The digits flash on the display because they are being
s e l e c t e d . P r e s s [ s t ar t / s t o p ] b u t t o n t o c h a n g e t h e
selection as in the Timer 2 Setting Sequence.
- While digits are flashing (selected), press [select] button
to increase the number. Hold down the [select] button to
change the number at a higher speed.
- After you set the timer time, press the [adjust] button to
exit the setting sequence. If no any key operation in the
setting display for about 3 minutes, the WindMaster will
return to the Timer Mode automatically

- The 1st time phase can be set between 0 to 39 minutes
- The 2nd time phase can be set between 0 to 99 minutes
- The 3rd time phase can be set between 0 to 99 minutes

To Use the Timer 2 - Yacht Racing Timer
- W h e n t h e T i m e r 2 i s s e t , p r e s s t h e [ s t a r t / s t o p ]
button to start the timer 2. Press the [start/stop] button
again to stop the timer.
- Flashing digits in a par ticular phase i ndicate that the
timer is counting. It represents the number of minutes
left at first. As countdown time is less than 40 seconds
for phase 1 or 60 for phase 2 and 3, it changes to
represent the number of seconds left instead.
- Each bar indicator on the left hand side of the display
represents 10 seconds; each bar indicator in the right
hand side of the display represents 1 second.
- N u m b e r o f s e c o n d s i n a m i n u t e i s e q u i v a le n t t o
((number of bar indicators on the left hand side X10) 1
number of bar indicators on the right hand side) seconds.
- Whenever the 1st or 2nd phase timer counts to zero,
the a larm s ounds and t he tim er sta rts to coun tdown
the next time phase.
- When t he 3r d phase timer cou n ts to zero, the alarm
sounds.
To Reset the Timer 2
- Press and hold the [select] button for 2 seconds to reset
the timer to the prev iou s se ttin g aft er the timer w as
stopped.

Altimeter Mode
- In the Altimeter Mod, the altitude displays o n t h e t o p
right corner of the display.
- The current temperature value displays on the top left
corner of the display;
- Th e cu rr en t ti me d is pl ays in t he b ot tom ro w o f th e
display.
IMPORTANT: If the user intends to get an accurate reading
of air temperature, the user must taken off the watch from
t h e w r i st f o r 2 0 t o 3 0 m i n u t e s b e f o r e t h e a c tu a l
measurement. It allows no body temperature effect on the
watch.
Absolute and Relative Altitude
- Th e al tim ete r ca n be o per ate d in bo th ab sol ute an d
relative modes.
- A b s o l u t e a l t i t u d e i s t h e d i f f e r e n c e b e t w e e n y o u r
cur rent a ltit ud e and SEA LEV EL. ( As sumi ng th at air
pressure at sea level is 1013.21mbar).
- R e l a t i v e a l t i t u d e i s t h e d i f f e r e n c e b e t w e e n y o u r
current altitude and the altitude of a specific altitude level
where your set the altimeter to 'Zero'.
- For expert users who intend to measure relative altitude,
check the 'How to measure Relative Altimeter' section for
detail.
To Switch Between Units
- The WindMaster can display altitude in meter (m) or feet
(ft); the WindMaster can display temperature in Celsius
(8 C) or Fahrenheit (8F).
- Press [start/stop] button to change the units as in the
units select sequence.
Barometer Mode
- B a ro m e t e r M o d e h a s t w o s u b - d i sp l a y s : P r e ss u r e
Tendency / Baro Display and Temp/Baro Display.
Pressure Tendency/ Baro Display
- In Barometer Mode, the pressure displays on the top
right corner of the display.
- The pressure tendency graph displays on the top left
corner of the display. The current time displays in the
bottom row of the display.
Pressure Tendency Graph
- The 1st column of the graph shows the relative pressure
of the last 6 to 9 hours.
- The 2nd column of the graph shows the relative pressure
of the last 3 to 6 hours.
- The 3rd column of the graph shows the relative pressure
of the last 3 hours.
- For expert users who intend to adjust the sensitive of the
pressure tendency, check the 'Pressure Tendency Value'
and 'How to set Pressure Tendency Value' for setting the
pressure threshold value.
Implications of the Pressure Tendency Graph
- In general, a rise trend in the Pressure Tendency Graph
forecasts a good weather ahead.
- A s t e a d y t r e n d i n t h e P r e s s u r e Te n d e n c y G r a p h
forecasts a steady weather ahead.
- A f a l l t r e n d i n t h e P r e s s u r e Te n d e n c y G r a p h
forecasts a bad weather ahead.
- Important: To get an accurate result, the user has to
stay at the same altitude for over 9 hours.
9.0 Barometer Mode - Pressure Tendency/Baro Display

Why the Altimeter Need to be Calibrated
- As the absolute altitude is calculated from the air pressure,
the change of air pressure would affect the altitude reading.
- To achieve a more accurate reading, the WindMaster need to
be calibrated from time to time as pressure may change
gradually even within hours.
Before Calibrating the Altimeter
- Calibrate the altimeter at a place where the altitude is
determined, such as sea level (0 m) or beside an altitude
sign pole (e.g, 89 m), because that altitude will be inputted
into the WindMaster during the calibration procedure.
IMPORTANT: Input an incorrect altitude during the calibration
procedure, it results a mistaken altitude in future.
Calibration Procedures
- Press and hold the [adjust] button for 2 seconds to change
the display from Altimeter Mode to Altimeter Calibration
Display, the right most digit start flashing in the display.
- If the digit is flashing, it is selected. Press the [select]
button to increase the number.
- If the digit has been set, press the [start/stop] button to
select the next digit for adjustment.
- After you set the altitude, press the [adjust] button to exit the
calibration sequence.
NOTE: If the user intends to set the Altimeter back to absolute
altitude (altitude is calculated from the ambient air pressure)
after the calibration, press and hold the [adjust] button to
change the display to the calibration display, and then press the
[adjust] button once again to exit the display without changing
any number.

To Measure the Relative Altitude
- Th e W in dM a st er ca n m e as ur e r el at iv e a lt it ud e . F or
example, it can measure the ascending or descending
altitude between the starting point and the finish point of
a trail.
- To measure the ascending or descending altitude of a
trail by setting the altitude to 'zero' at a reference point
such as the starting point of the trail.
To Set the Altimeter to Zero
- Press and hold the [adjust] button for 2 seconds to change
the display from Altimeter Mode to Altimeter Calibration
Display.
- Press the [mode] button once to switch the altitude to
'zero' meter or 'zero' feet.
- Af ter t he Wi ndMa ster is s et to 'Ze ro', pre ss [a djust ]
button to exit the setting sequence.
- The Watch will display the relative altitude continuously,
he nce , t he u se r co ul d mo ni tor hi s/ her as ce ndi ng or
descending altitude by that number.
To Set the Altimeter back to Absolute Altitude
- If the user intends to set the Altimeter back to absolute
altitude (altitude is calculated from the ambient air pressure)
after a relative measurement, press and hold the [adjust]
button to change the display to the calibration display, and
then press the [adjust] button once again to exit the display
without changing any number.

To Change to Temp/Baro Display and Switch Between Units
- Press [start/stop] button once to change the display from

[start/stop] button once again to change the units as in
the unit select sequence.
Temp/Baro Display
- In Temp/Baro display, the pressure appears on the top
ri g ht c orn er o f th e d isp lay. T he c urr ent te mpe rat ure
displays on the top left corner of the display. The current
time displays in the bottom row of the display.
IMPORTANT: If the user intends to get an accurate reading
of air temperature, the user must taken off the watch from
t h e w r i st f o r 2 0 t o 3 0 m i n u t e s b e f o r e t h e a c tu a l
measurement. It allows no body temperature effect on the
watch.
Pressure Tendency Value (PTV)
- T h e P T V a d j u s t s t h e s e n s i t i v e o f t he p r e s s u r e
ten den cy gr aph . T he W indM aste r ha s a d efau lt P TV
value of 2.00 hPa(mb). A smaller PTV implies that the
pressure tendency graph will become more sensitive to
the pre ssur e cha nge. A b igge r PTV imp lies th at th e
pressure tendency graph will become less sensitive to
the pressure change.
To Set the Pressure Tendency Value (PTV)
- Press and hold the [adjust] button to change the display
from Barometer Mode to Barometer Setting Display. The
right most digit wi ll start flashing. Press the [sel ect]
butt on to in creas e t he num be r. Pre ss the [sta rt /stop ]
button to select the next digit for adjustment when the
previous number has been set.
- After you set the value, press the [adjust] button to exit
the setting sequence. If n o any key operation in the
setting display for about 3 minute, the WindMaster will
return to the Barometer Mode automatically.
How WindMaster Measures Wind Speed

rotates at a rate that is direct proportional to the wind
speed.
Before Measuring a Wind Speed
- Pres s th e bot h Pr ope ller Release B utt ons together t o
release the propeller unit.
- Turn the ball-shape propeller by your thumb and index
fingers until the propeller blades are entirely opened to
air current and is not sheltered by the case.
To Measure Wind Speed
- Select Wind Speed Mode.
- P oin t t he p rop el ler 's t un nel di re ct t owa rd s th e w ind
direction.
- Make sure that the propeller blades are free to rotate.
- W he nev er t he w in d p as s t hro ug h t he pr op el le r, t he
blades rotate.
- T he W i nd M as te r s ta r ts t o m e as u re a nd s h ow s t h e
average wind speed or wind chill factor, maximum and
current wind speed.
After Measuring a Wind Speed
Important:

To Switch among Units

(Kilometer per ho ur), m ph (mi le per h our), K nots, m/s
(meter per second) and fps (feet per second) unit.
- Pr ess an d h ol d [ start /s top] b ut ton to c ha nge th e u ni t
as in the unit selection sequence. Release the button as
desire unit was displayed.
Wind Speed Mode Auto Return
- In Wind Speed Mode, if there is no key operation for 30
m i n u t e s a n d t h e c u r r e n t w i n d s p e e d i s z e r o , t h e
WindMaster will return to Real Time Mode.
Use the Propeller as a Mechanical Compass
- O n e o f t h e p r o p e l l e r b l a d e s w a s c o l o r e d t o
indicate the north pole.
- Eight beari ng marks ( No rth, North-East, East, South-
East, So u th , So u th - We st , W es t, a n d N o rt h -w e st ) w er e
engraved on the propeller unit as reference points.
To use the Mechanical Compass
- To check bearing, make sure the propeller is opened and
the propeller unit in it's normal position.
- Ti lt y ou r W in dM as ter u nt il th e p ro pe ll er b la des a re

free to rotate.
- Minimize the air current pass though the propeller tunnel
when you taking a compass reading.

indicates the direction of north pole.
- Make use of the bearing marks on the propeller unit to
check out other directions.
- Your WINDMASTER measures temperature, pr e ssure,
a l t i t u d e , w i n d s p e e d , t h e W i n d M a s t e r t e l l s
compass directions as well.
Wind Speed Mode

- Press [start/stop] button to switch between the Wind Chill
Factor Display and Average Wind Speed Display.
Average Wind Speed Display
- When the average wind speed display is being selected,
the average wind speed will be displayed on the top left
corner of the display. The maximum wind speed displays
on the top right corner of the display. The current wind
speed displays on the bottom row of the display.
- Th e bar in d icat ors o n the bot h sid es of the dis play
indicate the current wind speed in Beaufort Scale.
Wind Chill Display
- When Wind Chill Display is being selected, the wind chill
factor will be displayed on the top left corner of the
display. The maximum wind speed displays on the top
ri ght c orn er o f th e d isp lay. T he c urr ent wi nd s pee d
displays on the bottom row of the display.
- Th e bar in d icat ors o n the bot h sid es of the dis play
indicate the current wind speed in Beaufort Scale.
IMPORTANT: If the user intends to get an accurate reading
of air temperature as well as wind chill factor, the user must
taken off the watch from the wrist for 20 to 30 minutes
b e f o r e t h e a c t u a l m e a s u r e m e n t . I t a l l o w s n o b o d y
temperature effect on the watch.
To Reset the Maximum Wind Speed
- Press and hold the [Adjust] button for 2 seconds to reset
th e ma xi mum w ind sp ee d, w he n th e m axi mu m wi nd
speed is displaying.
Accessories
- Your box co nt ai ns a neck -c or d a nd a pla st ic clipp er.
These accessories are included for the user to wearing
the WindMaster on their neck or the likewise.
- Your box also contains two soft nylon clothes. One is a
nylon pouch which you can store your WindMaster and
its accessories while travelling. Another one is a nylon
cover which you can cover your WindMaster while taking
part in activities like mounting biking. This cover keeps
your WindMaster away from dust and dirt.
- Your accessories was packed inside the paper cover. Lift
up that cover by pressing the places that printed with a
'PRESS' on the sides of the cover.
To Detach Wrist Strap from the WindMaster
- D et ac h t he up pe r a nd bo tt om wr is t- st ra ps f ro m t he
WindMaster by using a small screw driver.
- Insert the tip of the screw driver into the notch of the
spring bar.
- Press the spring bar towards its centre, then lightly lift
the wrist strap, the wrist strap will dislodge from its lock.
How to Attach the Plastic Clipper to WindMaster
- Remove the spring bars from the wrist-straps and insert
thes e two s pring bars bac k i nto th e pla s tic c li pper' s
spring bar holder.
- Place the plastic clipper on the back of the WindMaster
as in the diagram.
- Insert the tip of the screw driver into the notch of the
spring bar.
- P ress t he sp ring b ar to wa rds i ts cen tre, then lig htly
lower the plastic clipper until it lodges into the lock.
Low Battery Detection
- When a battery low indicator appears on the display, it
me ans th at t he c apa ci ty o f th e ba tte ry i s lo w. It i s
recommended to replace a new battery (CR-2032).
