Vario Wheel
operating instructions
These operating instructions must be read, observed and stored before installation and use
of the equipment supplied.
If an installation or assembly is necessary for the type of ventilator you have purchased
before commissioning, please observe the installation instructions. These instructions must
first be read and followed.
The aeration unit is designed to circulate and aerate water. Any other use is strictly
prohibited.
An expert inspection before commissioning must ensure that the required electrical
protective measures are in place. A residual current switch (RCD) with a tripping rated
current of up to 30 mA is prescribed for a voltage of 230 V or 400 V. The voltage indicated
on the device type plate must correspond to the existing voltage. In the standard version, all
devices are supplied completely connected and ready for operation. All devices are
equipped with a motor protection (thermal overload protection) (either as motor protection
plug at the cable end or as thermal sensor in the motor winding). If you have purchased
devices without motor protection or with a free cable end at your own request, the motor
protection and/or plug must be fitted by a specialist before commissioning.
Installation on the water
For installation you need two tensile ropes. These ropes must be attached to the device.
They can be attached to the straps on the float of the unit. The ropes must be attached to
the unit in such a way that they cannot get into the bucket wheels under any circumstances.
After being fixed on two sides of the unit, the unit can be placed in the water. The
connecting cable should be placed at the edge of the water so that it is not pulled into the
water. Under no circumstances must the appliance be connected to the electrical connection
at this time!
With the help of the two ropes, the device is pulled into the desired position and firmly
fastened to the edge of the pond. Attention - make sure that it is securely fastened,
otherwise the appliance will twist in and damage the connection cable. The electrical
connection cable must never be used to tension the unit!
Before connecting the aerator to the electrical connection, make sure that nobody is in the
water. For safety reasons, it is expressly forbidden to stay in the working area of the aerator
(in particular swimming to the unit or pelvic climbing of the aerator). Attention! Risk of injury.
Touching the unit during operation is prohibited for smaller pools/ponds.
The water aerator can now be connected to the electrical connection. Attention! - Make sure
that the plug connection is dry.
The Vario Wheel may only be operated with a voltage of 23 - 26 V. Operation directly on a
solar panel without control is not permitted, as otherwise the electronics of the aerator may
be damaged.
The power (speed) can be regulated at the plug. Attention The start-up may take a few
seconds. Also after renewed starting by blocking the paddle wheel e.g. by branches or fish.
Use the LINN solar island, suitable batteries or the voltage adapter supplied by us for the
power supply.
Maintenance
All water aerators supplied are largely maintenance-free. From time to time only the
complete unit has to be cleaned and a visual inspection carried out. For this purpose it is
necessary to remove the unit from the water. Attention! - Pull the mains plug beforehand!
Important
Modifications to the device or opening the motor part are prohibited. We accept no liability
for damage or loss caused by the failure of a ventilator. The operator must provide a fuse
(alarm system) to report any failure of the device.
Other information
We would like to point out that according to the Product Liability Act we are not liable for
damage caused by our device if the instructions and regulations from this operating manual
are not observed.
The aerator must never be pulled, transported or attached to the connection cable. The
connecting cable may only be replaced by a specialist. The connecting cable must not be
lighter than a rubber hose HO7 RNF (EN 60335-2-41). Avoid abrasions and chafe marks on
the connecting cable at all costs!
The electrical plug connections must be located in a flood-proof area and protected from
moisture. The connecting cable and plug must be checked for damage before use.
The water aerators must not be operated outside the water!
If the aerator is defective, repair work may only be carried out by the manufacturer or an
authorised specialist workshop. In addition, only original spare parts may be used.
