Cell scrapping
When the cell of remote controller is fully discharged,
open the cell cover with a one-yuan coin in the direction
as marked on the back of remote controller.
Install the relief valve (with the connection of G1/2)
onto the water inlet pipe in the direction of arrow
marked on the relief valve (the arrow points to the
water heater). When the water heater is turned on
to heat water, water in the water tank will expand,
so it is normal that several water drops may drip
from the pressure relief vent of relief valve to reduce
water pressure. Be sure to keep the pressure relief
vent to the atmosphere and unblocked.
The drain pipe with relief valve is installed as
follows: connect one end of the drain pipe to the
pressure relief vent of relief valve and the other end
to the sewage system in order to prevent the room
from being polluted by water drops at the time of
pressure relief. The drain pipe can be shortened or
extended as required. The drain pipe connecting to
the relief valve should keep downwards and inclined
in frostless environment.
Remove the button cell and replace it with a standard cell
of the same specification. Please make sure that the cell’s
positive pole is face up.
Fully discharged cells must not be placed in
high-temperature environment or throw into fire, otherwise
they may burst. Please dispose these cells in accordance
with relevant national regulations.
Remark: The keys on the remote controller are used in the same
manner as their corresponding keys on the control
panel.
Note: It is recommended to use the remote controller near
and perpendicular to the water heater.
Reinstall the cell cover in place.

The water heater is designed for wall mounting.
Before installing the water heater, make sure that the connecting wires on the back of water
heater are connected firmly. Preinstall the relief valve, flow sensor and one elbow, install the
elbow with relief valve and another elbow respectively onto water inlet/outlet pipes (the handle of
relief valve is installed at the end near the water outlet pipe as shown in Fig. 2) and connect the
connecting terminals of flow sensor to its interface. Afterwards, install the drain pipe with relief
valve and seal it with sealing tape to avoid water leakage. Please add washers up to the elbow’s
loose joint when installing an elbow.
Determine the installation location of water heater, drill four holes of 12mm in diameter and
65mm in depth with a churn drill on the wall according to the dimensions as shown in Fig. 1,
insert expansion hooks/bolts into corresponding holes and fix them, lift up the water heater to
make its wall brackets be hooked to the hooks and bolts, install plain washers, connecting wires
on the back of water heater and nuts onto the bolts in turn (as shown in Fig. 3), and then tighten
the nuts and check the water heater for firmness. Afterwards, install the accessories such as
relief valve by following the instructions in the section of “Installation of the relief valve” (only for
reference at the time of installation). Please seal them with sealing tape to avoid water leakage.
For easy installation and disassembly of the water heater, it is recommended that G1/2 loose
joint be installed respectively in proper position of water inlet/outlet pipes. Determine the location
where water is to be supplied to and then connect water inlet/outlet pipes and tap water pipe
respectively. Afterwards, fill the water tank and check for water leakage; in case of water leakage,
please reconnect the pipes.
Note: Be sure to always hold the water heater until its wall brackets are hooked to the hooks firmly,
otherwise it may drop and cause personal injury or properly loss.
When installing the water heater, keep a certain space (at least 300mm) for easy repair and maintenance in the future. If the water heater is
built in a cabinet, the right panel should be removable for easy removal of the plastic cover at the time of repair.
Make sure that tap water pressure is within the range of 0.05MPa~0.8MPa.
The electric water heater should be installed in a room with ambient temperature above 0°C and the pipes should be in centralized layout. The
outlet of hot water should not be far away from the point of use. If the distance is more than 8m, please take proper measures for heat insulation
of hot water pipes to reduce heat loss.
The wall on which the water heater is installed should be solid and firm and can bear four times the weight of water heater with its water tank full
of water. If the wall is not a bearing wall or is a hollow brick wall, be sure to take proper protective measures, e.g. addition of brackets, use of
through-wall screws and installation of back panel.
The electric water heater should be installed in a location where is easy for use and repair and has a floor drain. In case of water leakage of
water tank or water pipe, the facilities around or under the water tank or water pipe should not be damaged. Avoid installing the water heater
above toilet bowl, bathtub, washbowl and door frame as possible to eliminate the feeling of oppression or unsafety.
The power socket of water heater should be in a dry place without water spraying to ensure normal operation (it is recommended that the power
socket be equipped with waterproof case).
Do not misconnect water inlet and outlet pipes. The relief valve should be installed in the specified position and its position must not be changed
without permission. Be sure to keep the pressure relief vent of relief valve to the atmosphere and unblocked.
Check live and neutral wires with a test pencil for misconnection. Only after confirming that the water tank of water heater is full of water, no
water leakage occurs at each joint and power supply meets relevant requirements can you turn on the water heater to heat water.

Q & A
● Be sure to disconnect the water heater from power supply before cleaning.
● Gently wipe the exterior with a piece of wet cloth and a little neutral detergent. Do
not use gasoline or other solutions. Finally, wipe the exterior with a piece of dry
cloth and keep the water heater dry. Do not use any detergent containing
abrasive (e.g. toothpaste), acid, chemical solvent (e.g. alcohol) or polishing
agent.
To keep high-efficiency operation, please clean heating tubes and inner water tank
once every three years. At the time of cleaning, be careful not to damage the
protective coating on the exterior of heating tubes and on the surface of inner water
tank.
● Be sure to disconnect the water heater from power supply before cleaning the
inner water tank.
● Before cleaning, close the water inlet valve, open the water outlet valve, remove
the “shockproof wall” shell and magnesium rod (at this time, you may also check
the loss of magnesium rod for timely replacement. Note: magnesium rod must be
purchased additionally.), drain the water tank, and then open the water inlet valve
to wash the inner water tank again and again for several minutes until clean
water flows out, and finally reinstall the magnesium rod and “shockproof wall”
shell in place.
● When the water heater is in use, check the relief valve once a month
as follows: pull the small handle of relief valve at the side of water
inlet pipe (be careful not to hurt your hands), if water flows out, it
means the relief valve is in normal operation; if no water flows out,
please contact local Haier after-sales service center; if the relief
valve is damaged, please replace it with a new relief valve of the
same specification.
● Ask an after-sales service technician for safety inspection on a
regular basis, remove the scale of heating tubes in a timely manner
and check the loss of magnesium rod, and if necessary, replace the
magnesium rod in time.
If the water heater will not be used for a long time, please do as follows:
1. Close the tap water pipe valve.
2. Connect one end of drain pipe to the pressure relief vent of relief
valve and then open the handle of relief valve.
3. Open the hot water valve fully (in the meanwhile, remove the hose
of shower head from the water outlet valve; at this time, be careful to
avoid scald by hot water) to drain the inner water tank.
To avoid personal injury, when you use the water heater again, it is
recommended to open the hot water valve before turning on the power
switch of water heater to discharge the air in the pipe; at this time,
smoking or other open flame is prohibited near the open valve. In
addition, thoroughly check whether each component of the water heater
is in good condition and confirm whether inner water tank is full of water
before using the water heater.
