1. At20ampstheallowablevoltagedropis3.0volts.
2. At15ampstheallowablevoltagedropis2.25volts.
3. At10ampstheallowablevoltagedropis1.5volts.
4. At5ampstheallowablevoltagedropis.75volts.
5. Ifhigherthanallowed,repairthewiringfromthenoseboxtotheTrailCharger.
Note: Thetrailerwiringcouldbefindandtheproblemisinthepowersource(tractorand7‐waycord)
whichshouldalsobetestedperTMC’sRP‐137.

1. Pluginaknowgoodpowersourceintothetrailer,thiscanbeatractororportablebatterysource.
2. WiththeTrailChargeroperating,testthevoltageattheTCpin#1andTCpin#3.Ifthevoltageis
over16.7volts,yourvoltagesourceisdefective(overcharging)andneedstobeeitherrepairedor
replaced.

1. Pluginaknowgoodpowersourceintothetrailer,thiscanbeatractororportablebatterysource.
2. WiththeTrailChargeroperating,testthevoltageattheTCpin#1andTCpin#3.Alsorecordthe
ambienttemperaturethebatteryboxhasbeensubjectedtointhelast24hours.

3. Comparethevoltageandambienttemperaturerecordedinstep2tothechartbelow.Thevoltage
andtemperaturefromstep2shouldbenearthecurveonthechart.Note:Ifatrailerismovedthat
hassatoutsideforadaythathasbeensubjectedto0degreesFtemperatureintotheshopitcould
takethebatteriesmorethan24hourstowarmuptotheshoptemperature.Whenmakingthe
comparison,baseitonthetemperaturethetrailerhasbeensubjectedtobeforemovingthetrailer
intotheshop.
Before replacing the Trail Charger it is suggested that each of the liftgate batteries be tested
