ASSEMBLY
Tools Required: Two adjustable wrenches and a hand pump.
1. Turn the frame (B) upside-down. Insert the axle rod (F) through the axle bushing on the front
of the frame. Repeat for the axle rod and bushing on the back end of the frame. See figure 1.
2. Place the wheel (C) over the axle rod (F) with the air valve facing out. Place the axle washer
(O) over the thread on the axle rod (F) and screw on the axle nut (P) and tighten securely.
Repeat for each remaining wheel. See figure 2 & 3.

3. Set the cart upright on its wheels.
4. Insert the brass swivel (K) through the U-bushing (G) and screw the end of the swivel into
the galvanized tee (L). See figure 4.
NOTE: Using a wrench, tighten the swivel into the galvanized tee. Tighten securely but do not

5. Screw the galvanized tee (L) onto the spool (A) end (the end with the shortest pipe) and
tighten with a wrench. See figure 5.
6. Turn the spool (A) around and slide a plastic spacer washer (H), spring (I) and another
plastic spacer washer (H) over the pipe. Take a U-bushing (G) and two of the 1.75 in. bolts
(M). Secure using the lock nuts. Thread the crank handle onto the end of the pipe.

8. Turn the spool around. Attach the remaining U-bushing (G) on the water supply side using
the 1.75 in. bolts with locking nuts (M). Make sure that the bushings are oriented over the
holes on the frame. You may have to compress the spring to get the spool oriented properly.
See figure 9.
9. Slide the U-handle (D) over the frame extensions and align the hoes. Insert a 1.44 in. bolt (N)
through the handle holes and attach with the wing nuts. Hand tighten. See figure 10.

10. Attach the leader hose (E) to the end of the swivel. See figure 11.
CAUTION! Do not over tighten.
11. Filling the tires with air: The recommended pressure for the tires is 15 PSI.
WARNING! Do not over inflate! Over inflation could cause the tires to explode. A hand
pump (bicycle pump) is highly recommended when inflating the tires. If a compressor is
used, use with extreme caution! These tires are small and pressure can build quickly.
12. Attaching your garden hose: The heavy duty steel hose reel cart is designed to hold up to
250 feet of 5/8 in. garden hose. Attach your hose to the brass adapter (on the galvanized tee).
Loop the hose over the spool end (as shown) to avoid kinking. See figure 12.

STORAGE
Lubricate before storing. In the event that it becomes necessary to store the tool for an extended period
of time (overnight, weekend, etc.,) it should receive a generous amount of lubrication at that time to
prevent rust.
DISPOSING OF THE TOOL
If your tool has become damaged beyond repair, do not throw it out. Bring it to the appropriate
recycling facility.
