WURM SVD001, SVD101 Product information

  • Hello! I'm a chat assistant trained on the datasheet for Wurm's SVD001 and SVD101 control modules. The document details their features, including valve control, 0-10V input, configurable safe positions, and more. I'm ready to answer your questions about these control modules.
  • What is the main function of the SVD001/SVD101?
How is the valve position controlled?
What happens when power fails in the SVD101?
How is the safe valve position configured?

2 Features
Connection of pre-defined valve types
Control of 1 valve
0...10V input for control of valve position (galvanically isolated)
Valve type selection by 2 rotary switches
Status display by LED
Safe valve position (open or closed) configurable by switch
Second 24V= supply input (backup terminal 51) with switching function: valve is moved to safe
valve position irrespective of the manipulated variable (SVD001 and SVD101)
Optionally with integrated emergency closing module with separate energy supply; in the case
of power supply failure the valve is moved to the safe valve position (SVD101)
Can be extended to include MCF001 cable filter if necessary

CAUTION
Avoid the described hazard: otherwise minor or medium physical injury or
damage to property will result.
WARNING
Avoid the described hazard: otherwise there is danger from electric voltage
that could lead to death or serious physical injury.
For your safety
For safe operation and to avoid personal injury and equipment damage through operator error, always
read these instructions, become familiar with the device, and follow all safety instructions on the product
and in this document, as well as the safety guidelines of Wurm GmbH & Co. KG Elektronische
Systeme. Keep these instructions ready to hand for quick reference and pass them on with the device if
the product is sold.
Wurm GmbH & Co. KG Elektronische Systeme accepts no liability in case of improper use or use for
other than the intended purpose.
Target group
These instructions are intended for "service technicians".
Intended use
The SVD001/SVD101 is a control module for valves with bipolar stepper
motor drives, the specifications for which are given in the valve table.
WARNING
Danger to life from fire!
Switch off the power to the entire plant when carrying out installation, wiring or removal
work.
The wiring of the device must be carried out only by qualified electricians.
Use only the correct tools for all work.
Check all wiring after connection.
Take note of the maximum loads on all connections.
Never expose the device to moisture, for example due to condensation or cleaning
agents.
Take the device out of operation if it is faulty or damaged and is therefore
compromising
safe operation.
The device can have its own internal energy supply to supply it with power even without
external connections!
Do not open the device.
Do not repair the device yourself. If the device requires repairs, send it in with an exact
description of the fault.
CAUTION
Electromagnetic interference
can cause faults!
Always use shielded data cables and place them far away from power lines.

5 Installing
Fig. 3: Dimensions SVD001/SVD101
This device is designed for top-hat rail installation. The
housing is a standard size and is also suitable for
installation in fuse boxes or distribution switch boxes.
The devices can be positioned next to one another without
gaps.
To ensure a long life for the memory cells, we recommend installing the device in areas of the switch
cabinet that have a low ambient temperature and sufficient ventilation.
Fig. 4: Top-hat rail installations SVD001/SVD101
1. Place the module with the upper guide edge on the
top-hat rail.
2. Then press the module gently downward until it
engages with the fastening safety catch on the top-hat
rail.
NOTICE
When installing the device in the switch cabinet, please bear in mind the different
temperatures that may occur.
