Salvia. They are upright, clump forming perennials with green
leaves and spikes of tiny tubular flowers. The leaves of this
mint family member are aromatic. Easy to grow.

About This Variety: Salvia ‘Mainacht’, commonly sold under the trade name of May Night, features deep violet
blue flowers. Was named 1997 Perennial Plant Association Plant of the Year.
Growing Instructions: Easily grown in average, dry to medium, well-drained soils in full sun. Prefers moist,
humusy soils with good drainage, but also performs well in gravelly or sandy soils. Tolerates drought.
Care Tip: Plants may repeat bloom throughout the summer, but need regular moisture to encourage this. Remove
spent flower spikes to help extend the bloom period.
Exposure: full sun
Height: grows 18-24” tall
Spacing: plant 12-18” apart, 1.5-2” deep
USDA Zones: hardy in USDA zones 4-8
