A gutter apron directs rainwater from the roof to the gutter. While protecting the roof deck from water
damage, a gutter apron also keeps water from getting behind the gutter.
The 3 inch top section is installed under the starter shingle course and above the underlayment. The gutter apron flashing is
secured with roofing nails every 16-24 inches. Overlap joints a minimum of 2 inches.
