Mechanical key
Locks and unlocks the doors
Locks and unlocks the glove box
The mechanical key is stored inside the electronic
key. To extract the key, release the latch and pull
or if equipped with a card key, press the button
and pull.
Wireless remote control
Press: locks all doors
Press once: unlocks the drivers door
Press twice: unlocks all doors
Press and hold: opens and closes the back
door
Press and hold: sounds the alarm
(Use the alarm to attract attention to the vehi-
cle in order to help deter breaks-ins. To stop
the alarm, press any button on the wireless
remote control.)

Smart Access System with Push-button Start
Entering the vehicle
To unlock the vehicle, simply grasp the door han-
dle.
Exiting the vehicle
To lock the vehicle, press the button on the door
handle.
To close the windows and moon roof, press and
hold the button.
Locking and unlocking the back door

The smart access system with push-button start allows you to enter and exit the vehicle
or start the engine by simply carrying the electronic key in your pocket or bag.
For details on starting the engine, see page 22.

Theft Deterrent System
Immobilizer system
The immobilizer system prevents the engine from
being started in the event that an attempt is made
to start the vehicle using an unregistered key.
The security indicator light flashes to indicate that
the system is set.
Alarm
The system sounds the alarm and flashes light when an attempt to steal the vehicle is
detected.
To se t t he al a r m: close the side doors, back door and hood, and lock all doors. The indicator
light comes on to indicate that the alarm is in its preparation state. When the indicator light
begins to flash, the system is armed.
To deactivate or stop the alarm: start the engine, or unlock the doors using the entry func-
tion or the wireless remote control.
Steering lock
The steering lock is engaged when the drivers
door is opened with the “ENGINE START STOP
switch OFF.
When the steering lock cannot be released, the
green indicator light on the “ENGINE START
STOP” switch will flash and a message will be
shown on the multi-information display. To release
it, press the “ENGINE START STOP” switch
while gently turning the wheel left or right.
The theft deterrent system includes the following features to help protect your vehicle from
theft.

Adjusting the seat cushion length (driver’s seat only)
Lengthens the seat cushion
Shortens the seat cushion
Rear Seats
Adjusting the second seat position
Move the seat forward
Move the seat backward
Adjusting the second seat back angle
Pull the lever and tilt the seatback forward or
backward.
Tumbling the second seats
Before tumbling the second seats, stow the seat
belt buckles and lower the head restrains to the
lowest position.
The outer seat belts should be secured with the
seat belt hangers.

Fold down the seatback while pulling the seat-
back angle adjustment lever, and swing the
whole seat up and forward.
Hook the holding strap to the assist grip and
secure the seat by pulling its free end.
When returning the second seat to its original
position, stow the holding strap.
Remove the seat anchor covers from the back
of the seat cushion, and install them on the seat
anchors.
When returning the second seat to its original
position, remove the seat hook covers from
the floor and install them in the back of the seat
cushion.

Folding the third seats
Before folding the third seats, make sure the following items are in their stowed positions.
Seat belt buckles: stowed in the seat cushion
Outer seat belts: secured with the seat belt hangers
Center seat belt: stowed in the cover set in the roof
Center head restraint: stowed in the seat back

Vehicles with manual switches
Press the third seat table mode switch.
The switch for the left side third seat is found on
the opposite side.
Vehicles with automatic switches
Press the third seat table mode switch.
“R”: Right side third seat
“L”: Left side third seat

Tumbling the third seats
Before tumbling the third seats, make sure the following items are in their stowed positions.
Seat belt buckles: stowed in the seat cushion
Outer seat belts: secured with the seat belt hangers
Center seat belt: stowed in the cover set in the roof
Center head restraint: stowed in the seat back

Vehicles with manual switches
Press the third seat tumbling switch.
The switch for the left side third seat is found on
the opposite side.
After the seat is tumbled, push the back of the
seat cushion to lock it.

Press and hold the third seat tumbling switch.
Right side third seat
Left side third seat
Remove the seat hook covers from the back of
the seat cushion, and install them on the seat
hooks.

Returning the third seats
Before returning the third seats, remove the seat hook covers from the floor and install them
into the back of the seat cushion.
Vehicles with manual switches
Pull the third seat lock release lever and lower
the seat, then lock the seat leg lock to the floor.
The lever for the left side third seat is found on the
opposite side.
Vehicles with automatic switches
Press and hold the third seat return switch.
Right side third seat
Left side third seat
Pull the handles located on the rear of the
seatbacks and raise the head restraints.

Driving Position Memory System
Setting memory positions
Press the “SET” button, then within 3 seconds
press one of the memory buttons (“1”, “2”, or “3”)
until you hear a beep.
The current driving position is recorded.
Recalling memory positions
Press one of the memory buttons (“1”, “2”, or “3”).
Linking driving position memory with door unlock operation
While holding the desired memory button, press
and hold button on the wireless remote con-
trol until you hear a beep.
To prevent triggering of the alarm, open one of the
doors within 60 seconds after the beep is heard.
Your preferred driving position (the position of the driver’s seat and steering wheel, and
angle of the outside rear view mirrors) can be memorized and recalled with the touch of
a button.
Linking driving position memory to the door unlock operation allows the memory position
to be recalled automatically when the driver’s door is opened. (The linked function does not
operate if the driver’s door is unlocked using the mechanical key or manually from inside
the vehicle.)

Vertical adjustment
To lower the head restraint, push it down while
pressing the lock release button.
Angle adjustment (front seat only)
Third outboard seats
Pull the head restraint angle lever to fold the head
restraint.
Seat Belts
Adjusting shoulder belt height (front seats, second outboard seats only)
To ra i s e: pull the anchor upward.

down.

Outside Rear View Mirrors
Adjusting the mirrors
Selects a mirror to adjust (“L”: left or “R”: right)
Adjust the mirror up, down, in, or out using the
switch
The mirrors will automatically angle downwards
when the vehicle is reversing.
To disable this function, set the select switch in the
neutral position (between “L” and “R”).

Folds the mirrors
Extends the mirrors
Putting the switch in the neutral position allows
the folding or extending of the mirrors to be
linked to operations, such as locking/unlocking of
the doors.
