II OPERATION
Read operation instruction manual and run the sprayer using water only for test.
1) This sprayer is designed to be used with a garden tractor or ATV.
2) The pumping system draws solution from the tank to the pump. The pump
forces the solution under pressure to the boom or wand.
3) Make sure the toggle switch is in the off position.
4) Install the red wire to a "hot" connection on the vehicle with a 12 volt DC power source or
the positive 12 volt battery post. The black wire should be grounded or connected to the
negative battery post.
5) Add clean water into tank so that the unit can be tested. Turn the toggle switch to the “on”
position and open the valve for either the boom or wand. Adjust the desired pressure by
slowly opening or closing valve, which has the hose that returns to the tank.
6) The wand or boom may be shut off at anytime when the pump system is
running, as the system is protected by an internal relief in the pump. It is best to
turn off the pump when it is not in use, to conserve energy from the battery.
7) The height of the boom needs to be adjusted so that there is 50% overlap on the
spraying surface (see diagram).
If you need to reduce the width to fewer nozzles, remove the nozzle tip and install the plug
that is provided. Not applicable to the boominator nozzle. The spray width is adjusted by
lowering or raising the boominator nozzle.
12
8) If it becomes necessary to clean the filters or nozzles, remove the filter from the nozzle body.
The filter sceen may now be tapped or flushed with clear water for cleaning. Nozzles can be
cleaned by soaking in water and cleaning with a brush and airline. Never blow through by
mouth or poke with wire or pins. Not applicable to the boominator nozzle. The
boominator nozzle should never need cleaning.
9) WARNING: Some chemicals will damage the valves if allowed to soak untreated for a
length of time. Always flush the pump with water after use. Do not allow chemicals to sit in
pump for extended times of idleness. Flushing may be done by adding water to the tank and
opening the sprayer valve (the hose that flows into the boom and wand) and run your motor
for 30-60 seconds. Follow chemical manufacturers instructions on disposal of all waste
water from the sprayer.

1) Chemical labels may show application rates in gallons per acre, gallons per 1000 square feet,
gallons per 100 square feet, or litres per hectare. The TIP CHART on the next page shows
gallons per acre and litres per hectare ratings. If your chemical labels use 1000 or 100 square
feet use the gallons per acre with the following conversion:
- For 1000 square feet: divide by 43.56
- For 100 square feet: divide by 435.6
2) Once you know how much you are going to spray then determine (from the TIP CHART) the
spray pressure (PSI), spraying speed (MPH), and spray width (INCHES) [1 foot = 12 inches].
The weather condition must be considered when setting the sprayer.
3) Determining the proper speed of the tractor can be done by marking off 100, 200,
and 300 feet. The speed chart indicates the number of seconds it takes to travel the distances.
Set the throttle, and with a running start travel the distances. Adjust the throttle until you
travel the distances in the number of seconds indicated by the speed chart. Once you have
reached the throttle setting needed, mark the throttle location so you can stop and go again
(returning to the same speed).

(Miles per Hour) 100 ft. 200 ft. 300 ft.

4) Add water and proper amount of chemical to tank and drive to the starting place for spraying.
Adjust pressure with pressure adjusting valve to the pressure required. This must be
determined from the nozzle tip chart and application rate recommended by the chemical
manufacturer.
WARNING: Read your chemical supplier warning labels.
CAUTION: - Do not spray on windy days.
- Protective clothing must be worn when spraying hazardous
chemicals.
- Be sure to read and understand this manual before spraying.

V AFTER SPRAYING AND WINTER STORAGE
1) Fill half the tank with water and run the pump until clear water comes out
at the nozzle end.
2) Flush the system with a chemical neutralizing agent.
NOTE: Follow the chemical manufacturers disposal instructions on
washing or rinsing water and chemicals.
3) If you are not using it for a long period of time remove nozzle tips and filter.
- wash nozzle tips with water or cleaning solution.
- blow out orifice.
- clean and dry.
NOTE: If orifice remains clogged, clean it with a fine bristle brush. Never blow
through by mouth or poke with wire or pins or you will damage the orifice.
- water rinse and dry tips before storing.
4) The sprayer should be winterized before storage by pumping a 50-50 solution of
water and anti-freeze through the entire plumbing. Proper care and maintenance
will prolong the life of the sprayer.
5) The sprayer should not be stored outside, the pump could get damaged from rain.
