Progressive Scan
Progressive Scan technology represents a vast improvement over
the interlaced scanning method used in TV broadcasts and other
conventional applications, as it can process around twice as much
video data to produce a sharper, noise-free picture with finer
details. High-definition video images are faithfully displayed with
optimum naturalness and beauty.

Dolby Digital and DTS Decoders
Equipped with both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 channel decoding, the ADV-1000
provides thrilling surround sound with the thousands of Dolby Digital and DTS
encoded DVDs, as well as the growing library of DTS 5.1 channel music
recordings available on CD.

Dolby Pro Logic II Decoder
• Enjoy any 2-channel source in stunning 5.1-channel surround
playback.
The Dolby’s newly developed Pro Logic II decoder reproduces dynamic
5.1-channel surround sound from any 2-channel source: DVD, VHS, satellite
and television broadcasts, radio, and CDs. Dolby Pro Logic II uses matrix
decoding technology that has been dramatically improved over Pro Logic.
With Pro Logic II, for instance, the Surround (Rear) channels are in stereo
(only mono with Pro Logic) and playback covers the full frequency range
(only up to 7 kHz with Pro Logic). These improvements let you enjoy a wide
variety of 2-channel sources with the exciting effects of 5.1-channel
surround sound.

Auto Decode
When you insert a disc, the convenient Auto Decode function automatically
detects the sound format (Dolby Digital or DTS) and starts playing the disc.
It also detects digital broadcast satellite (DBS) signals, so that when you are
receiving a 5.1-channel broadcast, for instance, you will automatically hear it
full surround sound. With Auto Decode, you can just enjoy the programs and
not worry about making manual settings of your own.

• Enjoy your favorite music CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs with Denon’s
legendary audio playback quality.
• Enjoy CD-R/RW discs encoded in MP3.
The ADV-1000 also automatically plays back discs encoded with MP3
music files, that you or others have recorded on to CD-R or CD-RW.

On-screen Display
The ADV-1000 lets you make system settings via displays on your TV screen
from the comfort of your chair. You can at any time fine-tune the settings
on-screen to more closely match your particular listening space. In this case,
making the settings from your chair has the added advantage of listening to
the effects while you adjust the settings.

Quick Setup
The ADV-1000 is also easy to set up. All you need to do is follow two steps
using on-screen operation: (1) select the size of your theater room, from
Small, Medium, or Large, and (2) select the listening position, from Center or
Rear. The Quick Set-up feature then automatically adjusts the soundfield to
suit this environment.

Super Sub Alias Filter
• High Resolution Picture.
The video decoder uses a Super Sub Alias Filter that extends the video
band into the high range while also suppressing noise from outside this
band. This results in high picture quality playback with enhanced horizontal
resolution and greater detail.

Auto Function Button
When you stop a DVD movie or music program in the middle and have even
turned off the ADV-1000's power (leaving it in standby mode), pressing the
Auto Function button on the remote controller lets you continue the program in
the same playback mode from where it was stopped.

Personal Memory Plus
The ADV-1000’s Personal Memory Plus function allows you to store the
parameter of the surround mode for further sound source customization.
A single push of any source button will instantly recall the settings stored
for each of the sound sources.

The ADV-1000 provides 7 original surround modes to let you enjoy an ambient

A 6-channel digital power amp with a robust 43 watts per channel is housed in the ADV-1000's slender, compact body.
This single unit is capable of DTS, Dolby Digital and other 5.1-channel surround playback. Besides multi-channel DVD sound, this space-saving
unit also delivers a high-quality stereo sound that rivals Denon's top-of-the-line A/V amplifiers.
The DHT-1000DV also features a beautifully designed and acoustically matched 5.1-channel
speaker system, complete with
dedicated subwoofer.
When simulating 5.1-channel surround from 2-channel sources, the sound that Dolby Pro
Logic output through the Surround speakers was only a monaural synthesis of the two
stereo channels (left diagram). With Pro Logic II, however, the output from the Surround
speakers is in stereo, giving you an enhanced sense of space (right diagram).

2-channel Virtual Surround A/V System
The ADV-1000 is equipped with the Virtual Surround mode that lets you enjoy the
spacious sound effects of Dolby Digital through two stereo speakers if you are not
able to install all the speakers required for true 5.1-channel playback. Denon uses
a proprietary digital processing system to recreate surround sound from just the
two front channels. Virtual Surround also gives you superior sound effects with
optimum sound stage when you use headphones instead of the speakers.

GLO-KEY Remote Control
The main buttons on the remote controller are illuminated in fluorescent colors
for easy operation in the dark or during playback.

Multi-Function Preset Memory Remote Controller
The supplied system remote controller features a large selection of remote
control codes to operate other components in your home theater system,
including codes for selected DENON models, along with remote control
codes from other manufacturers. The most frequently used buttons are laid
out separately for TV and VCR, for maximum ease-of-use.

Elegant Half Mirrored Dot Matrix Display
The half-mirror feature of the ADV-1000's front display panel allows the normally
dark area on the unit to subtly reflect light or surrounding objects, enhancing

appears on the surface of the mirror in dot matrix clarity, making it much easier
to read.
