Thank you for choosing Aura note V2, a real high-end music center.
April Music is happy to present all-new Aura note V2. This is a whole new rebirth of Aura
note after 8 years!
Born in 2005, by the team works between the three
countries of Japan, UK and Korea, Aura note has
gained a huge number of fans who loves music
and wanted the stylish and natural sounding audio
equipment. And Aura note has done the great job
to fulfill these requirements.
Now, still the same size and same design as the
original Aura note designed by the British
legendary designer Sir. Kenneth Grange, but many
new features are implemented on the all-new Aura
note V2.
When it comes to rebirth of Aura note, April Music
fully concentrated on 3 mores. More power, easier
operation and higher sound quality.
An outstanding stylish compact form of Aura note V2 gives you many kinds of pleasure
along with its attributes and capacities, including:

Aura note and Aura note premier.
Loudspeakers and speaker cables are all what you need to enjoy a very satisfying music
system with Aura note V2.

Cautions
1) Each Aura note V2 is shipped with power supply set to the line voltage of each
destination country (100 VAC-240VAC). Please check this before plugging your Aura
note V2 into the power outlet.
2) Aura note V2 is a precision instrument and is sensitive to external vibration. A bit of
care taken in placing it in your listening environment will result in much more musical
satisfaction.
3) The "STANDBY" button on the front panel or remote control is normally used to turn
ON/OFF Aura note V2. For extended trips away from home, you can disconnect the
power cord or turn off the MAIN POWER switch on the rear panel, but under ordinary
circumstances the “STANDBY” button is all you need.
4) The glass cover for the CD prevents dust from contaminating the mechanism. When
not using Aura note V2, please keep the glass in “CLOSED” position.
5) The CD stabilizer is magnetic. Keep it away from credit cards and ID cards and other
magnetically susceptible items.
6) Aura note V2 is a high-technology device. Don't attempt to open the unit unless you
are an authorized Aura dealer or technician. Opening without factory approval will
void the warranty.

Connections
1. Rear Panel
1) LOUDSPEAKER :
Connect loudspeaker cables (not supplied) to left/right terminals on the rear panel of
Aura note V2. Maintain the proper polarity by keeping Red(+)-to-Red(+) and Black(-
)-to-Black(-). Reversing polarity can degrade the sound.
2) PRE OUT :
This line-level analog output is after the volume control, for connection to an external
power amplifier or powered subwoofer.
3) AUX 1, AUX2 :
These two-channel analog inputs can be used for any stereo devices TV sound
monitor out, DVD player or turntable (When used with appropriate equalizing phono
pre-amp).
4) FM ANTENNA :
The quality of FM reception is strongly dependent on antenna quality. Although a
simple length of wire will act as an antenna, it may induce noise. Experimenting with
antenna type and location will reward you with better sound.
5) OPT IN :
Some devices are equipped with Optical digital output (check with your TV, satellite
box, cable-TV box, DVD players and Blu-ray players). You can connect these outs
with OPT IN of Aura note V2 so that you can enjoy the full quality of enhanced sound
of Aura note V2.
6) AC INPUT :

Check that Aura note V2's power supply matches your local electrical service. Then
plug in the AC cord and turn on MAIN POWER switch. (I : ON / O : OFF)
※ Fuse box locates between AC INPUT and MAIN POWER switch. (250VAC/7A)

2. Side Panel
1) Headphone :
Headphone cable with standard 1/4" plug will fit directly into this jack. Headphones
with mini-plugs will need an adaptor (not supplied). Output to the loudspeaker is cut
off immediately when headphone plug is inserted.
2) iPod/USB :
This port supports for either iPod/iPhone/iPad or USB Memory devices.
◈ iPod/iPhone/iPad (Digital Connect)
Aura note V2 supports pure digital connection with iPod/iPhone/iPad. Just connect
iPod/iPhone/iPad with iPod connect cable and then select “iPod” mode by pressing
“MODE” button on the front panel or “iPod” button on the remote control.
◈ USB memory device (High resolution music file support)
Aura note V2 supports high resolution music file playback through USB memory
devices. Plug in USB memory devices into this port and then select “USB” mode by
pressing “MODE” button on the front panel or “USB” button on the remote control.
Aura note V2 starts to recognize music file in the USB memory device and indicate
total number of music files in the USB memory device.
※ FLAC(up to 96kHz/24bit)/WAV(up to 44.1kHz/16bit)/MP3/WMA file formats can
be played back.
※ Aura note V2 is not guaranteed for working with all USB equipment and may not
playable for some protected files with copyrights.
3) PC :
Connect PC and Aura note V2 with included USB cable. When connected, select
“PC” mode by pressing the “MODE” button on the front panel or “PC” button on the
remote control. You may listen whole PC sound through Aura note V2.

※ Driver installation is required for using Aura note V2 with Windows OS. (MAC OS
do not need to install driver file. OSX automatically identifies Aura note V2)

Operating Instructions
1. Front Panel Operation
1) STANDBY :
Turns Aura note V2 on and off. When pressing “STANDBY” button once, Aura note
V2 will show “WELCOME” message and turns on. Aura note V2 automatically
choose previously used mode. Pressing “STANDBY” button again will turn Aura note
V2 off and display current time.
※ When you want to save the power, turn the MAIN POWER switch off which is
located on the rear panel of the unit.
2) VOLUME :
(∨) button will decrease the sound level and (∧) button will increase the sound level.
VOLUME button controls the sound output in 101 steps.
MIN, 1, 2 ~ 98, 99, MAX (MIN = no output, while MAX = maximum output)
※ If a subwoofer is connected via the "PRE OUT" jacks, this output level will go up
and down with the level of the main speakers.
※ Aura note V2 memorizes previous volume setting. But if you turn off the MAIN
POWER switch at the volume level 21 over, Aura note V2 automatically sets volume
to 21.
3) Play/Pause :
Start and pause the CD player and iPod/USB device.
4) Stop :
Stop CD player and iPod/USB device. When playback stops, the information of

played track indicates.
※ iPod mode does not show track information.
5) Skip/Search :
◈ CD, iPod/USB mode
These buttons let you move forward to the next track or back to a previous one. Hold
either one down for more than one second and it acts as a fast-forward or fast-
backward key. When a CD is stopped, you can use these keys to find a particular
track. Once you've found the track you want, simply press “PLAY”.
◈ Tuner mode
With Aura note V2 in Tuner mode, use the Skip/Search buttons to move up or down
the radio dial. Holding the button down for more than one second puts the tuner in
Auto Search mode.
6) Mode :
Enables selection of source out of 8 choices (CD, TUNER, iPod, PC, USB, OPT,
AUX1, AUX2). You can choose each mode by pressing the “Mode” button
continuously. If you select one of these choices, the sound outputs after 3 seconds.

2. Remote Control Operation
The remote control of Aura note V2 is a slim and compact style device. With the remote, you
can not only duplicate all the functions of the front panel, but can also do some things
possible only with the remote, such as switching from stereo to mono (useful with noisy FM
stations) or setting the timer. You will find the Aura note V2 remote control is a powerful tool.
1) STANDBY ( ) :
Turns Aura note V2 on and off. When you press “STANDBY”
button once, Aura note V2 will show “WELCOME” message and
turns on. Aura note V2 automatically choose previously used
mode. Pressing “STANDBY” button again will turn Aura note V2
off and displays current time.
2) DIMMER :
You can vary the brightness of the display in five levels (from „off‟
to „very bright‟) by pressing the "DIMMER" button. If you choose
display off, each function indicates for 5 seconds after pressing
any button.
3) Source Selection :
There are 8 input sources you can select. (CD, TUNER, iPod, PC,
USB, OPT, AUX1, AUX2) Just press the source button you want
to play. Aura note V2 will remember your last source and volume
setting and return to those when you press "STANDBY" again.
※(F1, F2) key is reserved for future use.
4) MENU/ENTER :
These buttons are used for “iPod” mode. You can rotate Playlists
/ Artists / Songs / Albums / Composers / Genres / Compilations
menus of your iPod by pressing “MENU” button. “-10DN” and
“+10UP” buttons are used for scroll up and down at selected
menu. “ENTER” button is used for selecting. If you want to move
upper menu, press “MENU” button again.
5) REPEAT :
This function repeats a track (or tracks) from CD, iPod or USB.
Pressing “REPEAT” button will change "REPEAT ONE",
"REPEAT ALL" and "REPEAT OFF".
6) +10UP and -10DN :

◈ CD, USB mode
Move 10 tracks previous or 10 tracks forward. Those keys are useful when using CD
or USB memory device which has many tracks.
◈ TUNER mode
Search the preset
◈ iPod mode
Move UP/DOWN at current menu
7) PROG (MEMO/CLOCK) :
◈ STANDBY mode
Set the clock
◈ TUNER mode
Make the frequency presets
◈ USB mode
Allow programming the play of tracks on USB memory device.
8) RAND (Random Play) :
This function mixes up the play order of CDs or USB music files. Press the "RAND"
button once to turn on random play, press it again to turn it off.
9) MUTE :
One press temporarily shuts off sound from Aura note V2. A second press restores it.
10) SLEEP :
This function makes Aura note V2 turn off at a predetermined time, up to 90 minutes
from the time it is set. The first click of "SLEEP" button shows 90 minutes. Each
successive click of the button reduces time to sleep by 10 minutes. The Sleep
function is cancelled if you press "STANDBY” to shut down Aura note V2.
11) TIME :
Normally, it shows the elapsed time of track now playing. When in CD mode,
pressing "TIME" will show elapsed/left time of the track and total left time from the
CD.
12) TIMER :

This function lets the pre-selected source come on every day at the same time, like
an alarm clock. “|◀”, “▶|” buttons are used for choosing menu in “TIMER” setting
mode.
(1) To set the TIMER mode, press "TIMER" button once and choose "TIMER ON" or
"TIMER OFF". Then press "TIMER” button again.
(2) Select source mode for TIMER and press "TIMER” again.
(3) Set the time. At first set the hour and then press "TIMER” button to change to
minute display. Set minutes and press "TIMER" again.
(4) Set the wanted volume level and press "TIMER" again.
(5) Set the automatic system off time from 10 to 240 minutes. Pressing "TIMER"
again will finish the timer setting.
※ Timer setting lasts at STANDBY mode. The setting will be erased if you turn off
MAIN POWER switch.
13) ST/MONO :
This function can improve the sound of a station at the fringe of your reception area
or one suffering from multipath noise (signals bouncing off buildings etc). Often,
putting a noisy station in MONO will reduce the noise and make the sound more
enjoyable.
14) A-B (A-B Repeat) :
This function is useful if you want to listen repeatedly to an interval of music. Press
"A-B Repeat" once to establish your starting point during playback, and press it
again to establish your end point.
15) VOLUME :
Volume buttons control the sound level. Short presses result in volume changes in
small steps from MIN to MAX. Hold down either UP or DOWN button to make the
sound level change continuously.
MIN, 1, 2 ~ 98, 99, MAX (MIN = no output, while MAX = maximum output)
3. Clock Setting
To program the correct time, press "PROG (MEMO/CLOCK)” button. The hour indicators will
blink for five seconds. Use “|◀”, “▶|” buttons to adjust the hour. Press "PROG
(MEMO/CLOCK)" again to set minutes. After you have set the time, the display will stop
blinking after 5 seconds. To reset the clock, put Aura note V2 in STANDBY mode and repeat
the procedure.

4. CD Playback
Aura note V2 is a high-performance CD player with TOP-LOADING mechanism. Sliding the
glass cover to the left is OPEN position and sliding the glass cover to the right is CLOSED
position.
◈ PLAY CD
1) Slide the glass cover to the left. The front display will show “OPEN".
2) Place your CD on the spindle and put the stabilizer on top of the CD. And slide
the glass cover all the way to the right until it covers the CD thoroughly.
3) Select CD mode by pressing "MODE" button on the front panel or “CD” button
on the remote control. Aura note V2 will read the disc and the display will show
the number of tracks and playing time.
4) At this status, by pressing “PLAY/PAUSE” button on the front panel or “▶||”
button on the remote control, Aura note V2 will start to play CD.
5) “SKIP/SEARCH” buttons on the front panel or “|◀”, “▶|” buttons on the remote
control will take you to the previous track or the next one. Holding either one
down for more than two seconds engages the fast search mode.
6) Press the "TIME" button to see remaining time of the current track, press it
again to see total remaining time.
7) To pause the music, press “PLAY/PAUSE” button on the front panel or “▶||”
button on the remote control once. Press it again to resume play.
8) “STOP” button on the front panel or “■” button on the remote control will stop the
CD.
◈ Random play
Press the "RAND" button once to turn on random play(RDM ON), press it again to turn it

off(RDM OFF).
◈ Repeat
This function repeats a track or tracks. Pressing “REPEAT” button will change REPEAT
mode(REPEAT ONE / REPEAT ALL / REPEAT OFF).
◈ A-B Repeat
Press "ST/MONO(A-B)" once to establish your starting point(RPT A- ) during playback,
and press it again to establish your end point(RPT A-B). To cancel A-B Repeat mode,
press “ST/MONO(A-B)” button again(RPT OFF).
5. FM Tuner
Select TUNER mode by pushing “MODE” button on the front panel or "TUNER" button on
the remote control. The display will show band and frequency. To change the frequency,
press “SKIP/SEARCH” buttons on the front panel or “|◀”, “▶|” buttons on the remote control.
If you hold down “SKIP/SEARCH” buttons on the front panel or “|◀”, “▶|” buttons on the
remote control for more than 2 seconds, it will let you scan for stations automatically.
◈ Setting presets
Aura note V2 can store up to 20 presets.
1) Select the station you wish to store.
2) Press "PROG(MEMO/CLOCK)” button, then select preset number by using “|◀”,
“▶|” buttons.
3) Press "PROG(MEMO/CLOCK)” button again to save it.
※ "+10UP” and “-10DN" buttons let you scan presets.
6. USB memory
USB port on the side panel of Aura note V2 lets you plug in stick memory. Once connected,
Aura note V2 will read the contents of the USB device. This process can take some time with
large collections of music files. Once reading is complete, Aura note V2 will let you play
tracks in USB memory.
◈ Play USB memory
Pressing “PLAY/PAUSE” button on the front panel or “▶||” button on the remote control
starts from Track 1. The function buttons used for CD playback work exactly the same
way with USB. Aura note V2 is ideal for use in commercial locations. Make your own
library for all-day playback.

7. iPod/iPhone/iPad
Connect iPod/iPhone/iPad cable into the USB port. Select source "iPod" from the remote or
front panel “MODE” button. If there is no iPod connected, "NO IPOD" will be displayed. If
there is an iPod connected correctly, the system will read the iPod and shows “iPod” on
display panel. The function buttons used for CD playback work exactly the same way with
iPod.
◈ Operating iPod
MENU, ENTER, -10DN, +10UP buttons are used for operating iPod.
1) “MENU” button is used for go back to upper menu or rotate Playlists / Artists / Songs /
Albums / Composers / Genres / Compilations menus of your iPod.
2) “-10DN” and “+10UP” buttons are used for move up and down at selected menu.
3) "ENTER" button is used for selecting menu or song.
8. PC connection
Aura note V2 can play any music or movie files from your PC up to 192kHz/24bit files. The
digital chain within Aura note V2 is a pure high-end audio class and you don't have to buy
separate USB DAC or similar products to listen to the quality audio. Simply connect a USB
cable (included) between your computer and the side panel USB port on Aura note V2. You
may need to select Aura note V2 as the external audio device using your PC's control panel.
To listen PC sound, use Aura note V2's “Mode” button to select "PC" or press "PC" from the
remote. Both PC and Aura note V2 have volume controls. You will need to use both for
optimum results, with the computer's volume controls typically at maximum. If you connect
your monitor to your screen or TV, you can easily enter into the realm of the real PC-based
home theater.
9. Digital OPT in
Aura note V2 has a very high quality internal digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that can
improve the sound of many digital devices-CD players or cable and satellite receivers.
Simply connect a standard digital optical cable from such a device to the OPT input on the
back of Aura note V2. Some DVD players or Blu-ray players have their own setup menu to
set the digital output. Do not forget to set the digital output mode as "PCM" mode.
10. AUX 1, 2
The auxiliary inputs allow you to connect any audio source with two-channel output: DVD
player, cable TV receiver, etc. You can also connect a turntable if you have an outboard
phono preamp. Connect the left and right channel outputs to Aura note V2‟s “AUX” inputs
using RCA cables. Make sure the volume is down before you do so. Some devices, such as
cable boxes and digital video recorders, have their own volume controls. The foolproof
approach is to set the volume output high on these devices and use Aura note V2 to control

the sound level.
11. PRE OUT
Aura note V2's expanded user options include a preamplifier output. You can connect this to
an external power amplifier or to a powered subwoofer. The pre-out is full-range, but the
subwoofer's input filter will block all but the lowest frequencies. This will not affect the sound
you hear from your main speakers.
12. Using Aura note V2 with video sources and a flat-panel TV
Many people may wish to use Aura note V2 with a flat-panel TV. Aura note V2 does not
provide video switching, but can still work wonderfully as the heart of a combined
audio/video system. Typically, the flat-panel TV would be placed between a pair of
loudspeakers, with Aura note V2 below it. Most such systems would also include two video
sources, a Blu-ray/DVD player and a cable/satellite receiver. All Blu-ray/DVD players and
cable/satellite receivers have stereo analog audio outputs. These should be connected to
Aura note V2's "AUX 1" and "AUX 2" inputs. It is also possible to connect a video source to
Aura note V2 via the digital OPT input, but Aura note V2 does not decode surround sound
formats. It is therefore best to use the stereo analog audio connection, as Aura note V2 is
optimized for superb stereo performance. With Aura note V2, a flat-panel TV, and good video
sources, you will have full enjoyment of movies, sporting events, and TV shows of all kinds.
