GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of an electri-
cal short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electrical
shock by providing an escape wire for the electrical
current.
This appliance is equipped with a cord having a grounding
wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an
outlet that is properly installed and grounded.
DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION CORD
Use an exclusive 115V wall outlet. Do not connect your
refrigerator to extension cords or together with any other
appliance in the same wall outlet. Do not splice the cord.
Before connecting the appliance to an electrical power
supply, let it stand for about 2 hours, which will reduce the
possibility of malfunctions in the cooling system due to trans-
port handling.
Clean the appliance thoroughly, especially in the interior (See
“Care and Maintenance” section).
READ INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
These instructions for use are intended for the user. They
describe the appliance and the correct operating procedures
for safe use.
BEFORE FIRST USE
WARNING:
1
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS!
Risk of fire or explosion due to puncturing of refrigerant tubing. Do not use sharp objects to aid in defrost.
Please handle with care. Keep flammable materials and vapors such as gasoline away from the refrigera-
tor. Use nonflammable cleaner.
Disposal of this unit should be in accordance with federal and local regulations.
WARNING! EXPLOSION HAZARD!
An empty refrigerator is a very dangerous attraction to children. Remove the gasket, latches, lids or doors
from unused appliances, or take some other action that will guarantee the appliance harmless.
DANGER: Risk of child entrapment. Before you throw away your old refrigerator:
• Take off the doors.
• Leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb in.
DON’T WAIT! DO IT NOW!
IMPORTANT WARNING!
Please ensure that component parts shall be replaced with like components and that servicing shall be done
by factory authorized service personnel, so as to minimize the risk of possible ignition due to incorrect parts
or improper service.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS!
When throwing away an old fridge equipped with a door lock
that cannot be opened from the inside, make sure that the
lock is removed, disabled or destroyed before discarding.
This will make it impossible for children to accidentally lock
themselves inside the appliance and suffocate.
The appliance must be properly connected to an electrical
power supply (See: “Connection to Power Supply”.)
If the food has a strange smell or color throw it away
because it is very likely that it is spoiled and therefore is
dangerous to consume.
Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply
before cleaning the appliance and replacing the light bulb.
WARNING: Repairs should be performed by
qualified service personnel only.
Do not defrost the appliance with other electric appliance (for
example a hair dryer) and never attempt to scrape/remove
ice/frost with sharp objects. Use only enclosed tools or tools
recommended by the manufacturer.
The rating plate containing Model No/Serial No and other
technical data specific to this unit, is located either inside the
appliance or outside on the rear wall.
DISPOSING WORN OUT
APPLIANCES
The refrigerator system of the appliance is filled with refrig-
erant and insulating substances which should be separately
treated and processed. Call your nearest authorized service
agent or specialized servicing center. If you are unable to
locate one, contact your local authorities or your distributor.
Be careful not to damage the tubes on the rear wall of the
appliance.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Try not to open the door too often, especially when the
weather is hot and humid. Once you open the door, close it
as soon as possible.
Every now and then check if the appliance is sufficiently ven-
tilated (adequate air circulation behind the appliance.)
Set the thermostat from cooler to warmer settings whenever
possible (depending on how loaded the appliance is, ambient
temperatures etc.)
Before loading the appliance with packages of hot foods,
make sure that they are cooled to ambient temperature.
(soups)
Ice and frost layers increase energy consumption, so clean
the appliance as soon as the frost layer is 3-5mm thick.
If the gasket is damaged or the door seal is poor, energy
consumption is substantially higher. To restore efficiency,
replace the gasket.
Always consider instructions stated in sections ”Choosing the
right location” and “Energy Saving Tips”, otherwise the
energy consumption is substantially higher.
ENERGY SAVING TIPS
Please ensure that component parts shall be replaced with like components and that servicing shall be done
by factory authorized service personnel, so as to minimize the risk of possible ignition due to incorrect parts
or improper service.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
3
Remove exterior and interior packagings, wipe the outside thoroughly with a soft dry cloth and the inside with a wet, lukewarm
cloth. Avoid placing the unit in a narrow recess or near any heat source, direct sunlight, or moisture. Let air circulate freely
around the unit. Keep the rear of the refrigerator 2 inches away from the wall.
1) Select a place with a strong, level floor.
2) Allow 2 inches of space between the back of the refrigera-
tor and any adjacent wall.
3) Avoid direct sunlight and heat. Direct sunlight may affect
the acrylic coating. Heat sources nearby will cause higher
electricity consumption.
4) Avoid very moist places. Too much moisture in the air will
cause frost to form very quickly on the evaporator, and
your refrigerator will have to be defrosted more frequently.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT LOCATION
INSTALLATION
Place the appliance firmly on a solid base. Some appliances
have adjustable feet on the front side; use them to level the
appliance.
CONNECTION TO POWER
SUPPLY
Connect the appliance power cord to a properly grounded
wall outlet. The required nominal voltage and frequency are
indicated on the rating plate (inside the unit or on the exterior
rear wall of the unit.)
BULB REPLACEMENT
Unplug the AC power cord from the wall.
Make sure the light bulb is cool before removing.
Remove the screw that holds the light bulb cover.
Squeeze the tabs at the top and bottom of the light bulb
cover simultaneously.
Remove the light bulb cover.
Unscrew the bulb.
Replace with a 10 watt bulb that is the same shape and
size.
Replace the light bulb cover.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
TEMPERATURE SELECTION
The first time you turn the unit on, set the temperature control to “7,” the coolest
setting.
The range of temperature controls are from position “0,” or NO COOLING to “7,”
the coldest. After 24 to 48 hours, adjust the temperature control to the setting
that best suits your needs. The setting of “4” should be correct for home or office
refrigerator use.
NOTE:
If the unit is unplugged, has lost power, or has been turned off, you must wait 3
to 5 minutes before restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the refrigerator-freezer will not start.
Turning the refrigerator temperature control to the “0” position stops the cooling cycle but does not shut off the power to the
unit.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
5
INTERIOR LIGHT
When you open the door the light will be ON automatically. When you close the door the light will turn OFF automatically.
DEFROSTING YOUR APPLIANCE
When? For the most efficient operation and minimum energy consumption, defrost the freezer compartment when the frost
on the appliance walls is excessive or ¼ inch thick. There is no need to defrost the refrigerator compartment, because ice
depositing on the inner back wall is defrosted automatically. Ice may deposit on the inner back wall during the compressor
operation; later on, when the compressor is not operating the ice will defrost and the water drops collect and drain through
the outlet in the inner back wall into the drain pan situated above the compressor, from where is evaporates.
How?
CAUTION
Do not use boiling water because it may damage the plastic parts. In addition, never use a sharp or metallic instrument to
remove frost as it may damage the cooling coils and will void the warranty. We recommend using a plastic scraper.
Reset the thermostat to the “0” position and disconnect the power supply.
Remove the frozen food from the appliance and place it in a cooler to protect the food.
Leave the door open for a while so that you can easily scrap off the frost.
Use a plastic scraper but be careful not to damage the inner surfaces of the freezer.
Wipe up the scraped off frost and ice before it is completely defrosted.
FREEZING FRESH FOODS
Proper use of the appliance, adequately packed food, correct temperature and taking into account hygienic precautions will
substantially influence the quality of freezing the food or storing of the frozen foods.
This compartment is designed for the long-term storage of frozen food.
The storage life of frozen foods varies and the recommended storage time should not be exceeded.
Pre-packed commercially frozen food should be stored in accordance with the frozen foods manufacturer’s instructions for a
three star frozen food storage compartment or home freezer.
Place frozen food into the freezer as quickly as possible after purchase. If there are instructions on the packet, carefully fol-
low these instructions regarding storage times.
Carefully select food you intend to freeze, it should be of adequate quality and suitable for freezing.
Use correct packaging and wrap it tight.
The packaging should be airtight and shouldn’t leak since this could cause substantial vitamin loss and dehydration of foods.
Foils and bags should be soft enough to tightly wrap around the foods.
When preparing foods to be frozen, consider sanitary precautions.
Mark packages with following data: kind and amount of foods and the date of loading.
It is extremely important that the food is frozen as quickly as possible.
If the loading amount is too large, the quality of freezing is reduced which affects the quality of frozen foods.
DOOR REVERSAL INSTRUCTIONS
Tilt the unit slightly towards the rear and prop it securely. Two1
people are required to tilt the unit during the door reversal
process.
On the top of the unit, remove the 4 screw covers, then undo2
the screws underneath.

Lift the top cover away from the fridge.3
Remove the three screws. Then remove the upper hinge that4
holds the door in place. Lift the door and place it on a padded
surface to prevent it from scratching.
Remove the bolt with a screwdriver and flip the hinge bracket.5
Then re-attac h the bolt to the hinge bracket.
Take off the middle hinge by removing the screws. Then lift6
the lower door and place it on a padded surface to prevent it
from scratching.
Move the hinge hole covers on the panel between the fridge7
and freezer from the left side to the right side.
Remove the adjustable feet from both sides. Remove the8
screws and the bottom hinge.
If you find the direction of opening the door on your appliance
inconvenient, you can change it. Holes on the opposite side
have already been prepared in the factory.

Re-attach the top cover and then re-attach the15
screws which hold it in place.
With the doors closed, check that the doors are16
aligned horizontally and vertically, and that the
seals are closed on all sides before finally tighten-
ing the bottom hinge. Re-adjust the leveling feet as
needed.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
CLEANING THE APPLIANCE
Turn the temperature control to "0", unplug the unit, and remove the food and baskets.
Wash the inside with a warm water and baking soda solution. The solution should be about 2 tablespoons of baking
soda to a quart of water.
Wash the baskets with a mild detergent solution.
The outside of the unit should be cleaned with mild detergent and warm water.
CAUTION: Failure to unplug the refrigerator-freezer could result in electrical shock or personal injury.
POWER FAILURE
Most power failures are corrected within a few hours and should not affect the temperature of your refrigerator-freezer if you
minimize the number of times the door is opened. If the power is going to be off for a longer period of time, you need to take
the proper steps to protect your food.
VACATION TIME
Short vacations: Leave the unit operating during vacations of less than three weeks.
Long vacations: If the appliance will not be used for several months, remove all food and unplug the power cord. Clean and
dry the interior thoroughly. To prevent odor and mold growth, leave the door open slightly: blocking it open if necessary.
IF YOU  MOVE
Remove or securely fasten down all loose items inside the unit. To avoid damaging the leveling legs, turn them all the way
into the base.
Some Important Rules for the Correct Use of the
Refrigerator
Never place hot foods in the refrigerator.
Never place spoiled foods in the refrigerator.
Don’t overload the refrigerator.
Don’t open the door unless necessary.
Should the refrigerator be stored without use
for long periods, it is suggested, after a careful clean-
ing, to leave the door ajar to allow the air to circulate
inside the unit in order to avoid possible formations of
condensation, mold or odors.
8
TROUBLESHOOTING
Occasionally, a problem is minor and a service call may not be necessary - use this troubleshooting guide for a possible
solution. If the unit continues to operate improperly, call an authorized service depot or Danby’s Toll Free Number
1-800-263-2629 for assistance.
9
PROBLEM SOLUTION
When the refrigerator does not work. Check to see if there is a power failure.
Check if the power plug is plugged into the power outlet.
Check that the fuse has not blown.
When the refrigerator is cooling
excessively.
The temperature control dial may be set too high.
If you place food containing alot of moisture directly under the cool air out-
lets they will freeze easily. This does not indicate malfunction.
When the refrigerator is not cooling
sufficiently.
The food may be packed too tightly together which will block the flow of
cool air.
You may have put something hot or a lot of food into the refrigerator.
The door may not have been closed properly.
The door gaskets may be damaged.
The refrigerator may not be ventilated.
There may be insufficient clearance between the refrigerator and the sur-
faces.
The temperature control dial may not be set properly.
When the defrosting water overflows
inside the refrigerator and onto the
floor.
Check that the drain pipe and the drain hose are not clogged.
Check that the drain pan is housed properly.
When condensation forms
on the outside of the refrigerator.
Condensation may form on the outside when the humidity is high such as
during a wet season. This is the same result as the condensation formed
when chilled water is poured into a glass. It does not indicate a failure.
Wipe dry with a dry cloth.
When you hear a sound like
water flowing.
If you hear a sound like “water flowing” that is the sound of refrigerant
flowing. It does not indicate a malfunction.
When the cabinet’s side
panel heats up.
The side panel of the cabinet will heat up when the door is opened or
closed frequently, when starting the unit, and when the unit operates in the
summer with high ambient outside temperature. In such cases, do not
touch the panel. The longer the compressor runs, the warmer the sides
will get on the unit and the longer they will stay warm.
