Proper use
The TRUMPF Nibbler N200-0 is an electrically
driven hand machine
part plate-shaped workpieces made of material
such as aluminium, plastic, etc.
cut pipes and machine sectional sheets
(corrugated sheets, checkered sheets)
nibble straight or curved outer edges and inside
cutouts
nibble according to a scribed line or template
nibble using a circular or straight line, slot
(optional)
Nibbling produces undistorted cutting edges.
The hollow punch of the nibbler allows you to rotate
the machine and continue machining in any direction.
Safety instructions
The machine can only be operated safely if
you have read and understood both the
operating and safety instructions (red print)
and follow these instructions carefully.
The unit must not be used when wet or in a
wet area.
Sockets must be equipped with fault current
circuit breakers. Consult your electrician for
further information.
Check the unit, cable and plug before each
use.
Have all damaged parts repaired by an expert.
Always wear safety glasses, ear
protection, protective gloves and
proper footwear when working with the
machine.
Do not connect the plug unless the machine is
turned off.
Pull out the mains plug after use.
Remove the plug from the socket before carrying
out any work on the machine. Never carry the
unit by the cable.
Always guide the cable back away from the unit.
Use only original TRUMPF accessories.
Before initial use
1. Read the chapter on safety.
Safety instructions
2. Check whether the installed die is suitable for the
workpiece that is to be machined. Use only the
special sectional sheet die when machining
sectional sheets.
Die selection
3. Sharpen or replace blunt tools.
Resharpening tools
4. The mains voltage must correspond to the
specifications on the machine type plate.
Machines with 230V may also be connected to
220V.
Machines with 115V may also be connected to
110V.
12 GB N 200 - 0 E244.DOC
Operating instructions
Check the tools for wear every hour.
Never nibble using blunt tools!
as this could otherwise overload the machine!
Turning the unit on and off
Turning on the unit: Push the on/off switch forward.
Turning off the unit: Push the on/off switch to the
rear.
Do not begin machining the workpiece until
after the machine has been turned on and
has reached maximum speed!
The machine must never be turned off while
the punch is in the workpiece when the
cutting tracks end in the workpiece. In this
case, guide the machine back along the
freshly cut track a few millimeters before
turning it off.
Speed controller (optional)
The number of strokes can be set according to the
application using the speed regulator.
Number of strokes (optional)
Cooling and lubrication
The cutting results are improved and the service life
of the punch is increased if
before machining the workpiece
the cutting track is coated with oil.
Reco mmended for steel:
Punching and nibbling oil, order no. 103387
Reco mmended for aluminium:
Wisura oil, order no. 125874
Changing the cutting direction Fig. 10859
The tool (i.e. the cutting direction) can be turned 90°
to the left or right if necessary, e.g. if space is
restricted or sectional sheets are to be machined with
the bevelled die.
Unscrew clamping screw (22) by approx. 4 rota-
tions.
Turn tool head 90° in the desired direction.
Retighten the clamping screw (22).
Nibbling with a template
The template should be thick enough that the
overall thickness of the piece and template is
between 5 and 6.5 mm.
The contour of the template should be 2.5 mm
away from the contour that is to be nibbled.
The nibbler must be guided in such a way that the
outside edge (13 mm) of the punch guide always
rests against the template.
Ensure that a minimum radius of 4 mm (punch
radius) is maintained.
Inner cutouts
Inner cutouts require a starting hole with a diameter
of at least 16 mmØ.
Die selection
Two different punches may be used to machine diffe-
rent types of workpieces:

c) Turn the punch with tool head (W) 360° as many
times as necessary to reach the specified punch
penetration depth.
(The punch may not protrude from the punch
guide in the upper eccentric.)
Center and tighten tool head (W) with clamping
screw (22).
Retighten the clamping screw (22) after a
short nibbling distance.
Changing tools
Remove the plug from the socket before
carrying out any work on the machine!
If the punch and/or the die are blunt, resharpen the
punch or change tools.

Number of strokes (optional)
The machine may be equipped with an electronic
module that facilitates variable stroke settings in
order to optimize cutting results and ensure that the
machine runs smoothly.
The number of strokes can be infinitely adjusted by
turning the speed regulator (118).
Higher speeds are reco mmended for thinner sheets
and workpieces with a lower tensile strength.
Practical experience is generally the only way to
determine which speeds produce the best results for
various materials.
