1. INTRODUCTION
This User and Maintenance Manual is for the product called Air/Oil manifold blocks.
The latest version of this manual is available from the Technical-Commercial Office or by consulting our website
http://www.DropsA.com.
This user and maintenance manual contains important information to protect the health and safety of personnel who use
this equipment. Please read this manual carefully and keep it in a safe place so that it is always available to operators who
wish to consult it.
2. DESCRIPTION
Modular system consisting of mixing blocks; a valve is housed in each block based on the flow rate required; a number of
1 to 8 blocks are used depending on the lubrication points.
The system has start and end blocks which have inlet points for oil and air on both the left and the right side.
The outlet has a 1/8” G coupling for the Air/Oil mixture; each block has an air adjustment screw.
The air solution is suitable for Air-Oil lubrication applications.
The Air-Oil systems are ideal for applications such as mandrel bearing lubrication or spray applications.

4
The main rules of conduct to be observed to work with a good level of safety are as follows:
The operations of installation, use, maintenance, etc. must always be carried out by qualified and trained personnel.
It is good practice to always, without exception, wear the required personal protective equipment.
Make sure that all power and compressed air supplies are isolated when performing any cleaning, adjustment and
maintenance tasks.
Install the equipment away from passageways to prevent it from being hit or damaged.
Do not damage the signs and pictograms applied to the equipment; if they are accidentally damaged, immediately replace
them with identical ones.
Check the chemical compatibility of the materials used to make the equipment with oil you wish to use. In addition to
damage to the equipment and pipes, incorrect selection of fluid could cause serious risks for people (leakage of
irritating and harmful products) and for the environment.
Do not exceed the maximum permitted operating pressure of the equipment and the components connected to it. If in
doubt, consult the data on the equipment plate.
Only use original spare parts.
If components need to be replaced with other ones, make sure they are suitable for operating at the equipment’s
maximum working pressure.
DropsA SpA disclaims any liability for damage to persons or property resulting from improper use of the equipment,
from tampering with its safety equipment or from non-compliance with workplace safety regulations.
WARNING
It is necessary to read the equipment’s
User and Maintenance Manual to know
the risks of use.
3.1 Materials present in the system
None of the materials used to make the system is hazardous for individuals involved in running it (throughout all stages of
the system life cycle). Specifically, the materials used to make the equipment are mainly:
iron derivatives;
plastic derivatives;
aluminium derivatives.
3.2 Air quality
To avoid mixing water in oil in the tank and/or clogging the nozzles due to impurities present in the supply circuit, it is
mandatory to use filtered and dehumidified air in accordance with DIN ISO 85731-1 (1.4.1) minimum.
When using the equipment at temperatures below 3°C, filtered and dehumidified air must be used in accordance with DIN
ISO 8573-1 (1.3.1).
5
3.3 - Lubricant
During operation, the system has been designed to use specific products for production purposes, i.e. the system operates
using the lubricants in the tank. The only lubricant permitted by the manufacturer DropsA S.p.A. is a non-hazardous
mixture in accordance with regulation (EU) 1272/2008 as described in the relevant MSDS (material safety data sheet),
delivering the following advantages:
Chlorine free Lubricating, cooling, and wear-resistant properties
Does not contain mineral oil Reduces waste to be disposed of and reduces consumption
There is no water to recycle.
For applications with:
Minimal lubrication systems General high/medium-duty cutting operations
Use on ferrous and non-ferrous materials
If oils other than those recommended by DropsA S.p.A. are used, they must belong to group 2 according to the PED
Directive, and must be a non-hazardous mixture in accordance with (EC)1272/2008 [GHS], with the following physical
properties:
Oil must be disposed of in strict compliance with local regulations and the related MSDS (material safety data sheet)
HAZARD
The lubricant used in the lubrication
circuits is flammable at temperatures
>250°C. Prevent it from coming into
contact with hot parts or open flames.
CAUTION
When filling the oil, wear protective goggles and gloves to avoid direct contact the
lubricant.
3.4 Pressure
6
CAUTION
Before any operation, check the absence of residual pressures in each branch of the
lubricant circuit.
Check the tightness of all pressurised parts after long periods of inactivity.
Do not subject fittings, hoses or pressure parts to violent shocks.
A damaged hose or fitting is DANGEROUS and must be replaced.
4. IDENTIFICATION
On the side of the unit there is a plate showing the product code, supply voltages and basic features.
7
5. UNPACKING AND INSTALLATION
5.1 Unpacking
Once you have identified a suitable place for installation, open the packaging and take out the equipment. Check that the
unit has not been damaged during transport and storage. The packaging material does not require special disposal
precautions, as it is not dangerous or polluting in any way. Refer to local regulations for proper disposal.
5.2 Installation
The equipment can be installed in two ways:
a) Secure the equipment to the machine tool structure. Do not install the equipment in an environment particularly
prone to strong oscillations or vibrations.
b) Install the equipment near the machine tool, making sure that the environment is appropriate for this type of
equipment.
WARNING
Place the equipment vertically on the
machine and in a readily accessible space
NEVER turn the equipment upside down
The operator is responsible for any damage to the machine caused by improper installation.
5.2.2 Compressed air connection
The supply must be max. 6 bar.
WARNING
The compressed air connection must be performed by
competent and qualified personnel.
For safety reasons, the pressure of compressed air on
the air mains connection must never exceed 6 bar.
8
5.3 Cleaning inside the equipment
WARNING
Make sure that the air supply is
disconnected before carrying out any
maintenance tasks.
6. DISPOSAL
During the maintenance of the equipment, or in case of its demolition, do not dispose of parts that create pollution in the
environment. Refer to local regulations for proper disposal. When dismantling the equipment, the identification plate and
any other documents must be destroyed.

7.1 Operation
The lubricant flows through the Valve and the seal fitting X mixes with the air in chamber Y.
The air flow that comes from hole A is adjusted using screw B.
To ensure accurate mixing, the outlet hose must be at least 1 metre long.
The mixing element may be used individually or in units.
Each metering element has one hole for wall mounting and one hole for coupling to another element.
