electric gardening appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire,

before using this product. Be familiar with all controls and
proper use of the machine. Follow all safety instructions.
Failure to follow all safety instructions listed below, can
result in serious personal injury.
Do not allow children or untrained individuals to use this
unit.
Thoroughly inspect the area where the equipment is to
be used and remove all foreign objects.
Use safety glasses - Always wear eye protection with
side shields marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure
to do so could result in objects being thrown into your
eyes, resulting in possible serious injury.
Dress properly - Wear heavy long pants, long sleeves,
boots, and gloves when working outdoors. Do not wear
loose fitting clothing that could be caught in moving
parts, short pants, sandals, or go barefoot. Do not wear
jewelry of any kind. Use of rubber gloves and substantial
footwear is recommended when working outdoors. Secure
long hair above shoulder level to prevent entanglement
in moving parts.
Keep Children Away - Keep all bystanders, children, and
pets at least 50 ft. away.
Stay Alert - Watch what you are doing; use common
sense. Do not operate this unit when you are tired, ill, or
under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.
Do not operate in poor lighting.
Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres,
such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or
dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust
or fumes.
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces
such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is
an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed
or grounded.

Keep firm footing and balance. Do not overreach.
Overreaching can result in loss of balance or exposure
to hot surfaces.
Keep all parts of your body away from any moving part.
Do not touch or try to stop cutting blades when they are
moving.
Inspect the unit before each use for loose fasteners, etc.
Replace any damaged parts before use.
When not in use, product should be stored indoors in a
dry, locked up place—out of the reach of children. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
Use only original manufacturer’s replacement parts. Failure
to do so may cause poor performance, possible injury,
and will void your warranty.
Do not, under any circumstance, use any attachment or
accessory on this product which was not provided with
the product or identified as appropriate for use with this
product in the operator’s manual.
Avoid dangerous environments. Do not use the product in
damp or wet locations. Do not use in rain. Do not handle
or operate the unit with wet hands.
Use the right appliance. Do not use the shear for any job
except that for which it is intended.
Do not use on steps, a ladder, or unstable support. Stable
footing on a solid surface enables better control of the
product in unexpected situations.
Do not force the shear. It will do the job better and with
less likelihood of a risk of injury at the rate for which it
was designed.
DANGER! Keep hands away from cutting area.
Keep hands away from blades. Do not reach underneath
work or around or over the blade while blade is rotating. Do
not attempt to remove cut material when blade is moving.
Make sure shear is off, blades have stopped moving, Do
not grasp the exposed cutting blades or cutting edges
when picking up or holding the shear.
CAUTION! - Blade coasts after being turned off.
WARNING! - Use outdoor extension cords marked SW-A,
SOW-A, STW-A, STOW-A, SJW-A, SJTW-A, or SJTOWA.
These cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk
of electric shock.
Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protection should
be provided on the circuit(s) or outlet(s) to be used for
the shear. Receptacles are available having built-in GFCI
protection and may be used for this measure of safety.
Inspect extension cords periodically and replace if
damaged. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil or
grease.
Do not charge in rain or in wet locations.
Always stop the motor by removing finger from switch
trigger, ensure the blades have stopped moving, and
disable motor when not in use by moving latch on bottom
cover to the unlock position; perform these steps before
attempting to clean any obstruction caught or jammed
in the blade, or before removing and installing the blade.
Avoid accidental starting. Never carry shear with finger
on switch trigger. Stop the motor when cutting is delayed
or when walking from one cutting location to another. If
the tool is left unattended, remove the blades and store
them in a separate location out of the reach of children
to avoid unauthorized use.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Maintain shear with care. Keep cutting edge sharp and
clean for best performance and to reduce the risk of
injury. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing
accessories.
Recharge only with the charger specified by the
manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of
battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with
another battery pack.
Under abusive conditions, liquid may leak from the
battery, avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs,
flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek
medical help. Liquid leaking from the battery may cause
irritation or burns.
When servicing a power tool, use only identical
replacement parts. Follow instructions in the Maintenance
section of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure
to follow maintenance instructions may create a risk of
shock or injury.
Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. The cells may
explode. Batteries should be recycled. Consult your
local waste authority for information regarding available
recycling and/or disposal options.
Check damaged parts. Before further use of the shear, a
guard or other part that is damaged should be carefully
checked to determine that it will operate properly and
perform its intended function. Check for alignment of
moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts,
mounting, and any other condition that may affect its
operation. A guard or other part that is damaged should
be properly repaired or replaced by an authorized service
center unless indicated elsewhere in this manual.
Batteries are not intended to be replaced.
Use non-slip, heavy-duty protective gloves when operating
the grass shear and when installing or removing blades.
Replace any blade or other parts that are cracked or
damaged. Always make sure blade is installed correctly
and securely fastened before each use. Failure to do
so can cause serious personal injury to the operator,
bystanders, or damage to the unit.
Never cut any material over 3/8 in. diameter.
Maintain a firm grip on handle while cutting with a blade.
Keep the blade away from body.
Know how to stop the unit quickly in an emergency.
Disable motor by moving latch on bottom cover to the un-
lock position before making any adjustments or changing
accessories. Remove blades and store them in a separate
location out of the reach of children before storing the
shear. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk
of starting the product accidentally.
Service on the product must be performed by qualified
repair personnel only. Service or maintenance performed
by unqualified personnel could result in injury to the user
or damage to the product.
Always stop the motor by removing finger from switch
trigger, ensure the blades have stopped moving, and
disable motor when not in use by moving latch on bottom
cover to the unlock position; perform these steps before
attempting to clean any obstruction caught or jammed in
the blade, or before removing, installing, or making any
blade adjustments.
Never use grass shear if the switch will not turn the unit
on or off. A unit that cannot be controlled by the switch
is dangerous and must be repaired before use.
Grass shear is for cutting grass and light weeds only. Do
not use for any other purpose.
Maintain grass shear with care. Keep cutting edges sharp
and clean for best performance and to reduce the risk
of injury. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing
accessories. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil
and grease.
Battery tools do not have to be plugged into an electrical
outlet; therefore, they are always in operating condition.
Be aware of possible hazards when not using your battery
tool or when changing accessories. Following this rule will
reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, or serious personal
injury.
Do not place battery tools or their batteries near fire or
heat. This will reduce the risk of explosion and possibly
injury.
Do not crush, drop or damage battery pack. Do not
use a battery pack or charger that has been dropped or
received a sharp blow. A damaged battery is subject to
explosion. Properly dispose of a dropped or damaged
battery immediately.
Batteries can vent hydrogen gas and explode in the
presence of a source of ignition, such as a pilot light. To
reduce the risk of serious personal injury, never use any
cordless product in the presence of open flame or sparks.
An exploded battery can propel debris and chemicals. If
exposed, flush with water immediately.
For best results, your battery tool should be charged in
a location where the temperature is more than 50°F but
less than 100°F. To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, do not store outside or in vehicles.
Save these instructions. Refer to them frequently and use
them to instruct others who may use this tool. If you loan
someone this tool, loan them these instructions also to
prevent misuse of the product and possible injury.

SAFETY RULES FOR CHARGER
An extension cord should not be used unless absolutely
necessary. Use of improper extension cord could result
in a risk of fire and electric shock. If extension cord must
be used, make sure:
a. That pins on plug of extension cord are the same
number, size and shape as those of plug on charger.
b. That extension cord is properly wired and in good
electrical condition; and
c. That wire size is large enough for AC ampere rating of
charger as specified below:

Do not operate charger with a damaged cord or plug,
which could cause shorting and electric shock. If damaged,
have the charger replaced by an authorized serviceman.
Do not operate charger if it has received a sharp blow,
been dropped, or otherwise damaged in any way.
Take it to an authorized serviceman for electrical check
to determine if the charger is in good working order.
Do not disassemble charger. Take it to an authorized
serviceman when service or repair is required. Incorrect
reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.
Unplug charger from outlet before attempting any
maintenance or cleaning to reduce the risk of electric
shock.
Disconnect charger from the power supply when not in
use. This will reduce the risk of electric shock or damage
to the charger if metal items should fall onto the connector.
It also will help prevent damage to the charger during a
power surge.
Disconnect charger from tool when the battery is fully
charged.
Risk of electric shock. Do not touch uninsulated portion
of output connector or uninsulated battery terminal.
For best results, your battery tool should be charged in
a location where the temperature is more than 50° but
less than 100°. To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, do not store outside or use in vehicles.

Do not abuse cord or charger. Never use the cord to
carry the charger. Do not pull the charger cord rather than
the plug when disconnecting from receptacle. Damage

Make sure cord is located so that it will not be stepped
on, tripped over, come in contact with sharp edges
or moving parts or otherwise subjected to damage or

to housing or internal parts.
Do not let gasoline, oils, petroleum-based products,

The safe use of this product requires an understanding of the
information on the product and in this operator’s manual as
well as a knowledge of the project you are attempting. Before
use of this product, familiarize yourself with all operating
features and safety rules.
BOTTOM COVER / LATCH
The bottom cover must be removed when installing, removing,
or changing the blades. The bottom cover latch has an
unlock and lock position; the unlock position disables the
shear’s motor and allows the bottom cover to be removed
for blade removal and installation. The bottom cover latch
should always be moved to the unlock (motor disabled)
position when removing cut or jammed material from the
blades or when performing any maintenance to prevent
accidental starting.
NOTE: Placing the bottom cover latch in the unlock position
does not protect against unauthorized usage. Remove the
blades and store them in a separate location out of the reach
of children to avoid unauthorized use of the shear.
CHARGER
The grass shear comes with a convenient portable charger.
LOCK-OUT BUTTON
The lock-out button reduces the possibility of accidental
starting.
SHEATH
The sheath keeps the operator from coming in contact with
the sharp blades when the tool is not in use. It also helps
keep the blades from being nicked or damaged when the
tool is in storage.
SWITCH TRIGGER
The switch trigger activates the motor and blades when it is
depressed and the lock-out button is pushed.

ASSEMBLY
UNPACKING
This product requires assembly.
Carefully cut the box down the sides then remove the
product and any accessories from the box. Make sure
that all items listed in the packing list are included.
WARNING:
This battery powered shear is always in an operating
condition and the blades can move if the switch trigger
and lock-out button are pushed. Be careful when
removing the shear from the carton and during the
assembly process to prevent accidental starting, which
could result in serious personal injury.
WARNING:
Do not use this product if any parts on the Packing List
are already assembled to your product when you unpack
it. Parts on this list are not assembled to the product by
the manufacturer and require customer installation. Use
of a product that may have been improperly assembled
could result in serious personal injury.

APPLICATIONS
You may use this product for the purpose listed below:
Trimming grass and other light weeds
CHARGING THE GRASS SHEAR
See Figure 2.
The internal battery in this tool has been shipped in a low
charge condition to prevent possible problems. Therefore,
you should charge it overnight prior to use. After each use,
charge for at least 10 hours.
To charge:
Stop the motor.
Insert charger plug into input jack making sure they are
properly connected.
Charger can be used with normal household voltage
of 120 volts, AC only, 60 Hz.
Connect charger to power supply.
Do not place charger in an area of extreme heat or cold.
It will work best at normal room temperature.
WARNING:
This battery powered grass shear is always in an oper-
ating condition and the blades can move if the switch
trigger and lock-out button are pushed. The bottom
cover latch should always be moved to the unlock (motor
disabled) position when removing cut or jammed material
from the blades, when changing blades or accessories,
when transporting the grass shear, and when the grass
shear is not in use. If the tool is left unattended, remove
the blades and store them in a separate location out of
the reach of children. Failure to follow these instructions
could result in accidental or unauthorized starting of the
grass shear and cause serious personal injury.
WARNING:
Do not allow familiarity with product to make you care-
less. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is
sufficient to inflict serious injury.
WARNING:
Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to
comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in
objects being thrown into your eyes, resulting in possible
serious injury.
OPERATION

Do not attempt to modify this product or create
accessories not recommended for use with this product.
Any such alteration or modification is misuse and could
result in a hazardous condition leading to possible serious
personal injury.
ASSEMBLY
ASSEMBLING THE GRASS SHEAR

To unlock bottom cover.
Slide bottom cover latch to the right .
Pull the bottom cover down to remove.
To install blades:
Install blades into the hole on the bottom of the shear.
Place bottom cover slots onto tabs and slide close.
Slide bottom cover latch left to lock.

Clear the area to be cut before each use. Remove all
objects such as cords, lights, wire, or loose string which
can become entangled in the cutting blade and create a
risk of serious personal injury.
Do not force the grass shear through heavy grass. This
can cause the blades to bind and slow down. If the blades
slow down, reduce the pace.
If blades do become jammed, stop the motor, allow the
blades to stop before attempting to remove the obstruction.
OPERATING THE GRASS SHEAR
See Figure 4.
WARNING:
Read the safety information for safe operation using the
blade. Extreme care must be taken when using blades
to ensure safe operation. Refer to Important Safety
Instructions and Specific Safety Rules.
Inspect and clear the area of any hidden objects.
Never use the grass shear near power lines, fencing, posts,
buildings, or other immovable objects.
Never use a blade after hitting a hard object without first
inspecting it for damage. Do not use if any damage is
detected.
OPERATION
LOCK-OUT BUTTON
See Figure 3.
The lock-out button reduces the possibility of accidental
starting. It is located on the handle above the switch trigger
and must be depressed before you pull the switch trigger.
The lock-out button resets each time the trigger is released.
SWITCH TRIGGER
See Figure 3.
The switch trigger activates the motor and blades when it is
depressed and the lock-out button is pushed.
STARTING AND STOPPING
See Figure 3.
To start:
Depress the lock-out button.
Depress the switch trigger.
To stop:
Release the switch trigger.
CUTTING TIPS
See Figure 4.
DANGER:
Never cut near electric cords or lines. If blade jams on
any electrical cord or line, DO NOT TOUCH THE BLADE!
IT CAN BECOME ELECTRICALLY LIVE AND VERY
DANGEROUS. Continue to hold the grass shear by the
handle or lay it down and away from you in a safe manner.
Disconnect the electrical service to the damaged line or
cord before attempting to free the blade from the line or
cord. Contact with the blade, other conductive parts of
the grass shear, or live electric cords or lines will result in
death by electrocution or serious injury.

Only the parts shown on the parts list are intended to be
repaired or replaced by the customer. All other parts should
be replaced at an Authorized Service Center.
WARNING:
Blades are sharp. When handling the blade assembly,
wear non-slip, heavy-duty protective gloves. Do not place
your hand or fingers between blades or in any position
where they could get pinched or cut. NEVER touch blades
or service unit while running.
REMOVING/CHANGING BLADES
See Figure 5.
To unlock bottom cover and remove blade:
Slide bottom cover latch to the right .
Pull the bottom cover down to remove.
Remove the blades.
To install/replace blades:
Install blades into the hole on the bottom of the shear.
Place bottom cover slots onto tabs and slide close.
Slide bottom cover latch left to lock.
LUBRICATING THE BLADES
See Figure 6.
For easier operation and longer blade life, lubricate shear
blades before and after each use. If you will be using the
shear for an extended period, it is advisable to oil the blades
during use.
Stop the motor and allow blades to stop moving.
Slide bottom cover latch to the right to unlock cover
and disable motor.
Lay the shear on a flat surface. Apply light weight machine
oil along the edge of the top blade.
NOTE: Do not oil while the shear is running.
Slide bottom cover latch to the left to lock cover and
reconnect motor.
WARNING:
This battery powered grass shear is always in an oper-
ating condition and the blades can move if the switch
trigger and lock-out button are pushed. The bottom
cover latch should always be moved to the unlock (motor
disabled) position when removing cut or jammed material
from the blades, when changing blades or accessories,
when transporting the grass shear, and when the grass
shear is not in use. If the tool is left unattended, remove
the blades and store them in a separate location out of
the reach of children. Failure to follow these instructions
could result in accidental or unauthorized starting of the
grass shear and cause serious personal injury.
WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Use of any other parts can create a hazard or cause
product damage.
WARNING:
Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to
comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in
objects being thrown into your eyes, resulting in possible
serious injury.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use
clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-
based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact
with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken, or
destroy plastic which can result in serious personal injury.

To preserve natural resources, please recycle or dispose of
batteries properly.
This product contains nickel-cadmium
batteries. Local, state or federal laws
may prohibit disposal of batteries in
ordinary trash.
Consult your local waste authority for
information regarding available recycling
and/or disposal options.
WARNING:
Upon removal, cover the battery pack’s terminals with
heavy-duty adhesive tape. Do not attempt to destroy
or disassemble battery pack or remove any of its
components. Nickel-cadmium batteries must be recycled
or disposed of properly. Also, never touch both terminals
with metal objects and/or body parts as short circuit may
result. Keep away from children. Failure to comply with
these warnings could result in fire and/or serious injury.
STORING THE GRASS SHEAR
See Figure 8.
Clean all foreign material from the grass shear. Store
indoors in a dry, locked up place—out of the reach of
children. Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden
chemicals and de-icing salts.
Always place the sheath on the cutting blades before
transporting or storing the unit.
Store the product where the temperature is below 80°F.
Store the product in a “discharged” condition.
Remove the blades and store them in a separate location
out of the reach of children to avoid unauthorized use of
the shear.
MAINTENANCE
CLEANING THE GRASS SHEAR
Stop the motor and allow blades to stop moving.
Slide bottom cover latch to the right to unlock cover
and disable motor.
Snap sheath onto blades.
Clean dirt and debris from the body of the shear, using a
damp cloth with a mild detergent.
NOTE: Do not use any strong detergents on the plastic
housing or the handle. They can be damaged by certain
aromatic oils such as pine and lemon, and by solvents
such as kerosene.
Slide bottom cover latch to the left to lock and re-
connect motor.
BATTERY PACKS
This product is equipped with a nickel-cadmium recharge-
able battery pack. Length of service from each charging will
depend on the type of work you are doing.
The battery pack in this product has been designed to pro-
vide maximum trouble-free life. However, like all batteries,
it will eventually wear out.
To obtain the longest possible battery life, we suggest
removing the product from the charger once it is fully
charged and ready for use.
NOTE: The internal battery pack is not intended to be
replaced.
BATTERY PACK REMOVAL AND PREPARATION
FOR RECYCLING
See Figure 7.
Stop the motor.
Slide bottom cover latch to the right to unlock cover
and disable motor.
Remove the screws securing motor housing cover, then
remove cover.
Lift battery pack from motor housing enough to expose
leads and battery terminals.
Using wire cutters with rubber coated or insulated
handles, clip the battery leads and remove the battery
pack for disposal.

WARRANTY
LIMITED WARRANTY STATEMENT
Homelite Consumer Products, Inc., (“Homelite”) warrants
to the original retail purchaser that this HOMELITE brand
outdoor product is free from defect in material and
workmanship and agrees to repair or replace, at Homelite’s,
discretion, any defective product free of charge within these
time periods from the date of purchase.
Two years for all models if used for personal, family, or
household use;
90 days for any unit used for other purposes, such as
rental or commercial.
This warranty extends to the original retail purchaser
only and commences on the date of the original retail
purchase.
Any part of the this product manufactured or supplied
by Homelite and found in the reasonable judgment of
Homelite to be defective in material or workmanship will
be repaired or replaced without charge for parts and labor
by a Homelite authorized service center.
The product, including any defective part, must be returned
to an authorized service dealer within the warranty period.
The expense of delivering the product to the dealer for
warranty work and the expense of returning it back to the
owner after repair or replacement will be paid by the owner.
Homelite’s responsibility in respect to claims is limited to
making the required repairs or replacements and no claim
of breach of warranty shall be cause for cancellation or
rescission of the contract of sale of any HOMELITE brand
product. Proof of purchase will be required by the dealer
to substantiate any warranty claim. All warranty work must
be performed by a Homelite authorized service center.
This warranty is limited to ninety (90) days from the date of
original retail purchase for any HOMELITE brand product
that is used for rental or commercial purposes, or any other
income-producing purpose.
This warranty does not cover any HOMELITE brand product
that has been subject to misuse, neglect, negligence, or
accident, or that has been operated in any way contrary
to the operating instructions as specified in this operator’s
manual. This warranty does not apply to any damage to
the product that is the result of improper maintenance
or to any product that has been altered or modified. The
warranty does not extend to repairs made necessary
by normal wear or by the use of parts or accessories
which are either incompatible with the HOMELITE
brand product or adversely affect its operation,
performance, or durability. In addition, this warranty does
not cover:

Ne pas travailler lorsque l’éclairage est insuffisant.
Ne pas utiliser un outil électrique dans un environnement

Se tenir bien campé et en équilibre. Ne pas travailler hors
de portée. Le travail hors de portée risque de faire perdre

Ne pas forcer les cisailles. Elles seront plus efficaces et
présenteront moins de risques de blessures si elles sont
utilisées dans les limites des spécifications.
DANGER ! Garder les mains à l’écart de la zone de coupe.
Garder les mains à l’écart des lames. Ne pas mettre les mains
sous la pièce à travailler, ou autour ou au dessus de la lame
lorsqu’elle est en rotation. Ne pas essayer de retirer une pièce
coupée pendant que la lame est en rotation. S’assurer que
les cisailles est arrêté et les lames cessent de bouger Ne pas
empoigner la lame pour ramasser ou tenir les .
ATTENTION ! Les lames continuent de tourner lorsque l’outil
est éteint.
AVERTISSEMENT ! Utiliser des rallonges d’extérieur marquées
SW-A, SOW-A, STW-A, STOW-A, SJW-A, SJTW-A, ou
SJTOWA. Ces rallonges sont conçues pour être utilisées à
l’extérieur et permettent de réduire le risque d’électrocution.
Les circuits utilisés avec les cisailles devraient être munis d’un
interrupteur de défaut à la terre. Des connecteurs avec un
interrupteur de défaut à la terre sont disponibles et peuvent
être utilisés pour satisfaire à cette mesure de sécurité.
Inspecter périodiquement les rallonges et les remplacer si elles
sont endommagées. Garder les poignées sèches, propres et
libres de dépôt d’huile ou de graisse.
Ne pas charger l’outil sous la pluie ou dans un endroit mouillé.
Toujours arrêter le moteur en relâchant la gâchette de

Pour recharger les piles, utiliser seulement le chargeur spécifié
par le fabricant. Un chargeur pouvant convenir à un type de
pile peut entraîner un risque d’incendie lorsqu’il est utilisé
avec un autre type de pile.
Éviter tout contact avec le liquide pouvant être éjecté de la pile
en cas de manutention abusive. En cas de contact accidentel,
rincer avec beaucoup d’eau. Si le liquide entre en contact avec
les yeux, consulter un médecin. L’électrolyte qui s’échappe

Ne jamais couper de tiges de plus de 9,53 mm (3/8 po) de
diamètre.
Tenir fermement le poignée pendant les travaux de coupe
avec une lame. Garder la lame loin du corps.
Sachez comment arrêter l’outil rapidement en cas d’urgence.
Désactiver le moteur en mettant le verrou sur le panneau inféri-
eur en position déverrouillée avant de faire un ajustement ou de

ou de blessures graves est ré duit.
Ne pas déposer les outils sans fil ou leurs piles près d’un
feu ou d’une source de chaleur. Cette précaution permet de
réduire le risque d’explosion et de blessures graves.
Ne pas écraser, laisser tomber ou endommager la pile. Ne
pas utiliser une pile ou un chargeur qui est tombé ou qui a
reçu un mauvais coup. Une pile endommagée présente un
risque d’explosion. Se débarraser immédiatement d’une pile
endommagée en prenant les mesures nécessaires.
Les piles peuvent émettre de l’hydrogène et exploser en
présence d’une source d’inflammation comme une flamme
pilote. Afin de réduire les risques de lésions corporelles
graves, ne jamais utiliser de produits sans fil en présence
d’une flamme ouverte ou d’étincelles. Une pile qui explose
peut projeter des débris et des éléments chimiques. En cas
d’exposition, rincer à l’eau immédiatement..
Pour obtenir de meilleurs résultats, il importe de charger l’outil
dans un endroit où la température est de plus de10 °C (50
°F) mais de moins de 37 °C (100 °F). Pour réduire les risques

Ne pas maltraiter le cordon d’alimentation ou le chargeur.
Ne jamais utiliser le cordon d’alimentation pour transporter
le chargeur. Ne pas débrancher le chargeur en tirant sur le
cordon. Tirer sur la prise pour la débrancher. Un cordon
ou un chargeur endommagé peut présenter un risque de
choc électrique. Remplacer immédiatement tout cordon
endommagé.
S’assurer que le cordon n’est pas acheminé à un endroit
où il risque d’être piétiné, accroché, endommagé, mis
en contact avec des objets tranchants ou autrement
maltraité. Ceci réduira le risque de chute pouvant entraîner
des blessures et l’endommagement du cordon, susceptible
de causer un choc électrique.
Garder le cordon et le chargeur à l’écart des sources de
chaleur pour éviter des dommages au boîtier ou aux pièces

N’utiliser un cordon prolongateur qu’en cas d’absolue
nécessité. L’usage d’un cordon prolongateur incorrect peut
présenter des risques d’incendie et de choc électrique. Si un
cordon prolongateur doit être utilisé, s’assurer :
a. Que la fiche du cordon comporte le même nombre de
broches que celles du chargeur et que ses broches sont
de mêmes forme et taille.
b. Que le cordon est correctement câblé et en bon état
électrique ; et
c. Que le calibre des fils est suffisant pour l’intensité c.a. du
chargeur spécifiée ci-dessous :

NOTE : AWG = American Wire Gage (calibre de fils américain)
Ne pas utiliser un chargeur dont la prise ou le cordon est
endommagé, ce qui pourrait entraîner un court-circuit et un
choc électrique. Le cas échéant, faire remplacer la prise ou
le cordon immédiatement par un réparateur agréé.
Ne pas utiliser le chargeur s’il a été soumis à un choc
violent ou autrement endommagé. Le confier à un
réparateur agréé afin qu’il détermine s’il est en bon état de
fonctionnement.
Ne pas démonter le chargeur. Si un entretien ou une
réparation est nécessaire, le confier à un réparateur agréé.
Un remontage incorrect peut entraîner des risques de choc
électrique ou d’incendie.
Pour réduire les risques de choc électrique, débrancher
le chargeur de la prise secteur avant de procéder à tout
nettoyage ou entretien.
Débrancher le chargeur de la source de courant lorsqu’il
n’est pas utilisé. Cette précaution permet de réduire le risque
de décharge électrique et d’éviter d’endommager le chargeur
si des éléments en métal tombent sur le connecteur. Elle
permet également d’éviter d’endommager le chargeur en cas
de saute de puissance.
Débrancher le chargeur de l’outil une fois que la pile est
complètement chargée.
Risque de choc électrique. Ne pas toucher les parties non
isolées du connecteur de sortie ou les bornes de piles non
isolés.
Pour obtenir de meilleurs résultats, il importe de charger
l’outil dans un endroit où la température est de plus de
10 °C (50 °F) mais de moins de 37 °C (100 °F). Pour réduire
les risques de blessures graves, ne pas entreposer l’outil
à l’extérieur ou l’utiliser dans un véhicule.

L’utilisation sûre de ce produit exige une comprehension des
renseignements figurant sur le produit et contenus dans le
manuel d’utilisation, ainsi qu’une bonne connaissance du projet
entrepris. Avant d’utiliser ce produit, se familiariser avec toutes
ses caractéristiques et règles de sécurité.
PANNEAU INFÉRIEUR OU VERROU
Il faut enlever le panneau inférieur lorsqu’on veut installer, retirer
ou changer les lames. Le verrou du panneau inférieur peut
être placé en position déverrouillée et verrouillée; la position
déverrouillée désactive le moteur des cisailles et permet d’enlever
le panneau inférieur pour retirer les lames ou les installer. Le
verrou du panneau inférieur devrait toujours être en position
déverrouillée (moteur désactivé) lorsqu’on veut retirer du matériel
coupé ou coincée sur la lame, ou lors de l’entretien afin d’éviter
un démarrage accidentel.
NOTE : Mettre le verrou du panneau inférieur en position
déverrouillée ne prévient pas l’utilisation non autorisée. Retirer
les lames et les entreposer dans un endroit séparé hors de la
portée des enfants pour éviter l’utilisation non autorisée des
cisailles.
CHARGEUR
Les cisailles à gazon sont vendues avec un chargeur portatif
pratique.
BOUTON DE VERROUILLAGE
Cette scie est équipée d’un bouton de verrouillage pour réduire
le risque de démarrage accidentel.
FOURREAU
La fourreau empêche que l’opérateur entre en contact avec
la lame tranchantes lorsque l’outil n’est pas en usage. Il évite
également que la lame est ébréchées ou endommagées pen-
dant le remisage.
GÂCHETTE
Le moteur et les lames sont activés lorsque l’utilisateur appuie
sur la gâchette et sur le bouton de verrouillage.
DÉBALLAGE
Ce produit doit être assemblé.
Avec précaution, sortir l’outil et les accessoires de la boîte.
S’assurer que toutes les pièces figurant sur la liste de
contrôle sont incluses.
AVERTISSEMENT :
Ces cisailles à pile sont toujours en état de fonctionnement
et les lames peuvent bouger si on appuie sur la gâchette
de l’interrupteur et sur le bouton de verrouillage. Faire
preuve de prudence en sortant les cisailles de leur boite
et lors de l’assemblage, afin de prévenir un démarrage
accidentel, qui pourrait causer des lésions.
AVERTISSEMENT :
Ne pas utiliser le produit si, en le déballant, vous constatez
que des éléments figurant dans la liste de contrôle
d’expédition sont déjà assemblés. Certaines pièces figurant
sur cette liste n’ont pas été assemblées par le fabricant et
exigent une installation. Le fait d’utiliser un produit qui a été
assemblé de façon inadéquate peut entraîner des blessures.
Examiner soigneusement le produit pour s’assurer que rien
n’a été brisé ou endommagé en cours de transport.
Ne pas jeter les matériaux d’emballage avant d’avoir
soigneusement examiné le produit et avoir vérifié qu’il
fonctionne correctement.
