Before use
1. Unpack thegrill from its packaging.
2. Remove thegrill plates by pressing theplates release buttons, marked [ RELEASE ]
on each of therespective grill plates.
3. Clean all parts beforeusing. Useasoft damp cloth for cleaning thehousing and
wash the grill plates and drip tray by hand washing or using adishwasher.
4. Dry thegrill plates thoroughly before refittingthem.
5. Season thegrill plates with alittle cooking oil beforeuse.
6. Refit thedriptray.
7. Place thecontact grill on aflat stable and heat-resistant surface.
Operating instructions
• Note: Neveruse theproduct for cooking frozen food or ingredients. Allfoods must
first be defrosted before using thegrill for cookingthem. However, you can use
the defrost feature to thaw frozen food items, see the Keep warm/defrost mode
section below.
• Note: Alittle smoke may be produced when using thegrill for thefirsttime. Thisis
completely normal and will rapidly dissipate.
• Warning: Useoven mitts and only touch theblack portion of thehandle in order to
prevent possible burn injuries.
1. Open thegrill by pulling thehandle upwards.
2. Season thegrill plates with butter, margarine,etc. according to your preference.
Thegrill plates have anon-stick coating, so this step is optional.
3. Close thelid and plug thegrill in to anelectrical socket. Makesure that theblue
power indicator light comes on (this light will be dimmer during warm-up and will
light at full strength once thegrill is ready for cooking).
4. Select theappropriate cooking temperature by using thethermostatknob. Itwill
require afew minutes for thegrill to reach theset cooking temperature.
5. Lift thehandle up to open thegrill. Placethefood onto thelower grillplate.
Onlyuse non-metal utensils on thegrill.
6. Lower thehandle so that theupper grill plate covers thefood.
7. Once grilling is complete, lift thehandle and remove thefood using appropriate
non-metal utensils. Ifyou wish to continue grilling, close thelid to conserveheat.
8. Repeat steps 5–7 until grilling is complete.
9. Turn off thegrill by pulling its plug from theelectrical socket.
10. Once thegrill has completely cooled, remove thegrill plates and the drip tray for
cleaning.
Grill mode
Suitable for double-sided grilling of food, sandwiches,etc. Theupper grill plate can
be height adjusted to accommodate thicker items by lifting thehandle and setting
theheight adjustment knob to thedesired setting (1–5).
