Important Safety Instructions, please Read Carefully!
This unit is meant to reproduce audio
signals in 5.1- or stereo format. Using it in
any other way warranty invalidates the
warranty and you risk electric shock.
Never attempt to open the housings of
your surround speaker set or to service
the product beyond that described in this
manual. All servicing or repair must be
referred to qualified service personnel
authorised by us.
To avoid the risk of electric shock never
use the product in humid areas or near
water - e.g. near a bathtub, washbowl,
kitchen sink, in a wet basement or near a
swimming pool, or the like.
This unit is intended for use with the
mains voltage indicated on the unit’s
back label. Never try to use it with
different voltage supply.
Proper air circulation around the
housing - especially at the subwoofers
rear side - must be provided to avoid
overheating.
Never touch a power cord with wet hands
or use a damaged power cord. Otherwise
you face risk of life by electric shock.
If objects have fallen inside or liquid
has been spilt onto the product disconnect
the plug from the mains immediately and
consult qualified service personnel.
Never let children play with the unit or
stick anything into it. Otherwise the child
faces the risk of electric shock.
Do not place the unit near strong magnetic
fields, water or heat. It should not be
exposed to direct sunlight for a longer
period. Avoid positions with heavy dust or
poor ventilation. The unit should not be
exposed to mechanical vibrations or
shock.
If you put off your home cinema system to
standby, it is not separated from the
mains power system. Thus, put off the
device with the MAIN POWER switche on
the back side of the devices or always pull
the power plug out of the socket if you
don’t use the system for a longer period of
time.
Never touch a power cord with wet hands!
Never use a damaged power cord to avoid
risk of life by electric shock.
After disconnection from the mains you
can use a soft damp cloth to clean the
housing. Don’t use strong cleansing
products.

Setting up the system
You can mount the speakers of your new home cinema system on a plane and stable
surface. You can, however, also hang up the centre, surround and front boxes on the wall.
The back sides of the satellite boxes have an according hanging possibility. The stand of the
subwoofer should be located close to a properly connected power socket. In order to ensure
a sufficient ventilation, the subwoofer must not be operated behind curtains or the like.
Possible ventilation openings of the devices must not be covered by newspapers, curtains
etc. The centre speaker is magnetically shielded. That is why you should see to it that only
this box is mounted close to the TV as otherwise this can lead to slight colour distortions of
the TV picture.
If you want to position the front speaker boxes on a surface please mount the pedestals
provided on the bottom side of the front speakers using the screws enclosed.

1) 5.1 CH INPUT
FL Please connect here the input signal for the left front speaker.
FR Please connect here the input signal for the right front speaker.
SL Please connect here the input signal for the left surround speaker.
SR Please connect here the input signal for the right surround speaker.
CEN Please connect here the input signal for the centre speaker.
SW Please connect here the input signal for the subwoofer.
2) AUX INPUT
Here you can connect stereo audio signals to the STEREO input (e.g. the audio output of a
TV set or a CD player).
3 - 7) SPEAKER OUTPUTS
To connect the speaker boxes to the subwoofer’s output terminals we recommend using the
speaker cables enclosed.
Front Right - Connect the right front speaker to the +/- terminals.
Front Left - Connect the left front speaker to the +/- terminals.
Surround Right - Connect the right surround speaker to the +/- terminals.
Surround Left - Connect the left surround speaker to the +/- terminals.
CENTER - Connect the centre speaker to the +/- terminals.
8) AC IN - Power Cable
Power cord for AC230V~ mains voltage.

9) FUSE - CAUTION!
This cab holds the primary fuse. You must never open the cab as long as the unit
is connected to the mains power. Otherwise you face the risk of life by electric
shock! This fuse may only be serviced or replaced by an authorised technician.
10) MAIN POWER ON/OFF
Using this power switch you connect the unit to the mains and activate it.
Hook up
In order to avoid malfunctions and / or damage of the speakers or other connected
devices, please establish all connections while the device is switched off.
Please take care to connect the red terminal of the subwoofer to the red terminal of
the speaker in the respective channel. Accordingly, connect the black terminal of
the subwoofer to the black terminal of the speaker. Otherwise the sound will be
spoiled and the main unit or the speakers may be seriously damaged.
Caution:
Please take care that the blank portion of wires connected to
the terminals never get in contact with each other. Otherwise
the resulting short circuit will seriously damage the unit.
Before the connection please twist the strands.
Then open the speaker terminal and stick in the blank
wire. Then close the terminal.

Connecting the Speakers
For the connection of the speaker boxes we recommend to use the speaker cable enclosed.
1. Connect the left front speaker with the FL +/- terminals at the back side of the
subwoofer.
2. Connect the right front speaker with the FR +/- terminals at the back side of the
subwoofer.
3. Connect the right surround speaker with the SR +/- terminals at the back side of the
subwoofer.
4. Connect the left surround speaker with the SL +/- terminals at the back side of the
subwoofer.
5. Connect the centre speaker with the CEN +/- terminals at the back side of the subwoofer.
Connecting Audio Sources
1. Connect the 5.1 input (5.1 CHANNEL INPUT) at the subwoofer’s back panel to devices
providing audio signals via separated outputs for front, surround, centre, and
subwoofer, e. g. DVD players.
2. Connect the STEREO input at the subwoofer’s back panel to stereo devices like
television, CD players, or cassette tapes.
The Remote Control
Take out the remote control handset from the package. Open the battery compartment.
Insert two batteries (1,5 V, size AAA). Please make sure the polarity matches the marks
inside the compartment. Otherwise the r/c will not work and may be damaged. Replace the
cover.
Should the r/c start to work unreliably replace both batteries. We recommend using alcaline
batteries. Please point the r/c towards the main unit when calling up functions. No obstacles
may stand in the way between r/c and infrared sensor. The green operation LED will flash
when the unit receives signals from the remote control.
If you won’t use the r/c for a week or longer, please remove the batteries from the
compartment, to prevent damage by leakage.
Batteries must not be disposed by ordinary refuse disposal. Please lead empty
batteries towards appropriate collecting points. Never throw batteries into fire.

1 STANDBY - Power on / off:
Using this key, you switch the device on from
standby operation or back to standby. For
this purpose, the MAIN POWER switch on
the back of the subwoofer must be switched
on (I / ON position).
2 INPUT SELECT DVD/5.1 :
Using this key, you select the 5.1 input as
active input of the device.
3 INPUT SELECT MP3 :
Using this key, you select the USB
connection or the SD/MMC card reader as
signal source for the device.
4 OUTPUT SELECT 5.1 CH :
Using this key, you select the operation
mode 5.1 (all speakers) in stereo operation.
5, 7 VOLUME 56 :
Using these keys, you control the overall
volume of your Home Theatre System.
6 BALANCE :
Using this key, you control the volume
balance between the right and the left front
speaker.
8 SUR L +/— :
Press the + or the key if you want to
increase or decrease the volume of the left
back surround speaker.
9 SUR R +/— :
Press the + or key if you want to increase
or decrease the volume of the right back
surround speaker.
10 CEN +/— :
Press the + or key if you want to increase
or decrease the volume of the centre
speaker.
11 SW +/— :
Press the + or key if you want to increase
or decrease the volume of the subwoofer.
12 :
In MP3 playback via USB or SD/MMC card,
you can switch to the previous title using this
key.
13 RESET :
In order to reset all settings to the delivery
status, please press this key.
14 MUTE :
If you want to mute the tone, press the MUTE
key. Press it again in order to switch the tone
on again.
15 STEREO :
Using this key, you select the 5.1 input as
active input of the device.
16 SD/USB :
Using this key, you switch between SD/MMC
and USB media as playback source.
17 OUTPUT SELECT 2.1 CH :
Using this key, you select the operation
mode 2.1 (stereo with subwoofer) in stereo
operation.
18 :
In MP3 playback via USB or SD/MMC card,
you can skip one title using this key.
19 :
In MP3 playback via USB or SD card, you can
stop or re-start the playback using this key.

Operating the Home Cinema Set
1. Switch the main switch (MAIN POWER) on the back of the subwoofer to ON (I). The
device is now operating and the indication of the currently activated input is shining red
in the display on the front
2. Press one of the INPUT SELECT keys in order to activate the desired input:
DVD/5.1 for the 6-channel input (5.1 CHANNEL INPUT)
STEREO for the stereo input
MP3 for the card reading or USB operation
3. In order to be able to playback MP3 files from suitable SD/MMC cards, insert the recorded
card in the SD card slot at the device front. The contacts of the card must show
downwards. For the USB operation, please connect a suitable USB storage medium type
“USB Mass Storage Device” with the USB connection at the device front. External hard
discs or USB hubs cannot be connected. Never try to insert cards of another format into
the slot! Ensure that the card is inserted correctly. Never use any force.
The multitude of manufacturers and products in the SD/MMC card area as well
as in USB devices may cause compatibility problems. Thus we cannot
guarantee that every storage medium that is generally suitable will be
recognized back correctly.
4. Using the OUTPUT SELECT keys you can, in stereo operation and in the card reading or
USB operation, select between the operation mode 2.1 (stereo with subwoofer) or 5.1
(all speakers activated).
5. As soon as you have activated the card reading or USB operation using the MP3 key, you
can switch between the two media using the SD/USB key if both connections are
occupied by media.
6. You can set the overall volume using the MASTER VOLUME + / – keys of the remote
control. Press the + key in order to increase the volume and the key in order to
decrease the volume. In order to control the volume, you can also use the knob at the top
of the main device. Turn it clockwise in order to increase the volume, turn it anticlockwise
in order to decrease the volume. The bar indication in the display serves as visual aid.
7. If during operation, you want to adjust the volume balance of the single speakers,
proceed as follows:
Set the overall volume to a suitable value.
Using the BALANCE R / L keys, you control the balance between the two front
speakers.
Press the CEN + or key in order to change the centre speaker volume.
Press the SUR R + or key in order to change the volume of the back right surround
speaker.
Press the SUR L + or key in order to change the volume of the back left surround
speaker.
Press the SW + or key in order to change the subwoofer volume.
8. When playing back MP3 files via the card reader or the USB connection, you can switch to
the previous or the next title using the / keys. Press the key in order to stop or
continue the playback.
9. Press the STANDBY key of the remote control if you want to switch the device into
standby mode. The red stand by indication “STAND-BY” is then shining in the display. In
order to switch the device on again, also press the STANDBY key. In order to save
electricity, switch the main switch on the back of the device to OFF (O).

Disposal advice
When the operating life of this device has ended it must not be disposed as
domestic waste, but in accordance with national environmental guidelines.
