5. Installation notes
The device should only be installed and started up by an
approved electrical engineer.
Observe the applicable safety and accident prevention
regulations.
The device is designed for fixed installation indoors in dry
conditions.
When connecting the device, ensure it has been discon-
nected from the power supply.
The device must not be opened. Faulty devices should be
returned to the manufacturer.
When planning and erecting electrical systems, observe
the specifications and regulations of the relevant country.

Please note that when parameterising a time server via ETS,
the manual setting of the time is overwritten by an external
signal from the time server. As soon as a time server has been
configured in the ETS, it has priority.
10. Error indication in the display
The KNXnet/IP Interface Multicontrol includes an automatic
battery monitoring function. Every 24 hours, the battery is used
briefly in order to evaluate the service life and status of the
battery. If the voltage under this load falls below a limit value,
this is indicated both in the display and as an event on the
EIB/KNX bus.

When this message is displayed the
battery should be replaced.
The KNXnet/IP Interface Multicontrol displays the load status
of the application for information. After an ETS download, all
application parameters that were set via the web configuration
tool are deleted. This status is indicated by an “E” (empty) in
the display.

11. Replacing the battery
The KNXnet/IP Interface Multicontrol has a 1/2 AA 3.6 V
lithium battery. Under normal operating conditions, the battery
has a service life of up to 2 years. However, if it does have
to be replaced, the battery cover can be opened by inserting
a screwdriver in the notches provided. Pull the battery out of
the battery compartment and insert a new battery. Ensure the
correct polarity.
