Performing the initial start-up
1. Position you Mio in your vehicle according to the installation instructions at the front of the
manual.
2. For the initial start-up, slide the power switch to the ON position. Your Mio turns on.

Note: The battery may not be fully charged when you use your Mio for the first time. To charge the battery,
refer to the User Manual.
3. The warning screen appears. Tap Accept.
4. The map screen will display.
The Main Menu can be accessed from the map screens
by tapping
or by tapping the status bar at the
bottom of any screen.
Note: The Main Menu screen may differ from above, depending on your Mio model.
Note: For normal operation, turn off your Mio by sliding the power switch to the OFF position. Your Mio enters a
suspended state. To use it again, slide the power switch to the ON position. Your Mio will be back to where you
left off.

How do I plan my first trip?
Note: While in a list of choices and the list goes beyond what one screen can display, simply slide your finger
upward or downward on the screen to scroll down or up in the list.
Using your Mio to plan your first trip is easy. There are several ways to select your destination.
Complete the following to navigate to a street address.
1. From the Main Menu screen, tap
.
The Find address screen is displayed.
2. Tap
to search for the address of your destination
using the Keyboard screen, then tap the Find button to
find destination.
Simply drag search results list to view more search
results, if required.
3. Tap the list item with your address.
The Location Preview screen will display.
Note: You are not required to enter country name. Simply enter first
few letters of city and street name of your destination.
4. Tap .
Your Mio will calculate the route from your current
location. The 3D Map screen will display.
For information on other methods of selecting your
destination, refer to the User Manual.

How do I view my route?
Once a route has been calculated, the 3D Map screen will display. You will be directed to your
destination by vocal and visual instructions.
