25 If you intend to use steam, the temperature setting must be S or higher. If you don’t, you’ll
get water on your clothes, not steam.
26 Set the steam control to the setting you want (S = no steam, # = high).
27 Wait till the light goes off, then start ironing.
k SPRAY
, Water spotting affects some fabrics. Test this on a hidden part of the fabric.

l VERTICAL STEAMING
41 Remove wrinkles from hanging clothes, hanging curtains, and furnishing fabrics.
42 Check that there is adequate ventilation behind the fabric, otherwise moisture may build up,
causing mildew.
43 Check that there is nothing behind the fabric that may be damaged by the steam.
44 Check that pockets, turn-ups, and cuffs are empty.
45 Set the temperature control to max. Set the steam control to S.
46 Lift the iron off the fabric.
47 Press the # button.
48 You may have to press it 2 or 3 times to pump water through the system.
49 Leave 4 seconds between shots, to let the steam build up.
C CARE AND MAINTENANCE
50 Set the temperature control to •. Set the steam control to S.
51 Unplug the appliance.
52 Pull the funnel from the rear of the iron and push it into the water inlet.
53 Hold it over a sink, turn it upside down, and drain the water from the reservoir, via the water
inlet.
54 Wipe up any spillage.
55 Pull the funnel out of the water inlet, and push it into the rear of the iron.
56 Sit the iron on its heel.
57 Leave it to cool down completely.
58 Clean the outside surfaces of the appliance with a damp cloth.
59 Remove spots from the soleplate with a little vinegar.
60 When it’s cold, wipe off any moisture, and wind the cable round the heel.
61 Press the clip over the cable, to keep it tight and tidy.
