dSCR (Digital satellite cable router) LNB’s LDS102 and LDS103 EN
Vers. 1.1
Product description
The low noise 40 mm down converters LDS10x are intended for the distribution of satellite and digital terrestrial television
(DTT) signals for up to 32 satellite tuners or receivers.
LDS102 is down converter with 2 subscribers outputs.
LDS103 is down converter with 2 subscribers outputs and DTT signal input. Integrated splitter allows to add DTT TV
signal to each subscriber output.
One of output works in dSCR/Legacy mode, other one – only in dSCR. Control according to EN50494/EN50607 (SCR/
dSCR) and Legacy (+13 V/+18 V/22 kHz) commands.
The LNB’s have two DC power modes for convenient DC powering options (see chapter „Installation instructions”).
These LNB’s automatically detect SCR/dSCR mode or legacy format from the receiver.
Safety instructions
Installation of the device must be done according IEC60728-11 and national safety standards.
The LNB is powered from the stabilized power supply 10-20 V DC. This voltage is not dangerous to life.
External power supply must have a short circuit protection.
Any repairs must be made by skilled personnel.
To avoid damaging of the LNB do not connect the supply voltage until all cables have been connected correctly.
IMPORTANT WARNINGS!
Always connect all of the coaxial cables to the LNB before connecting the power. These units are not designed to be
“HOT-SWAPPED” or connected to a live system.

Installation instructions
Read the safety instruction rst.
For outdoor installation.
To adjust LNB use Legacy output. LNB has automatic gain control, so adjusting by signal amplitude is not accurate.
Maximum MER of signal should be achieved.
All unused F sockets of LNB should be loaded by 75 Ω.
Powering of LNB using one of two powering modes (see Table 1).

Warnings and notes
1. LNB is powered from dSCR1/DC IN or
dSCR2/Legacy outputs (subscriber).
The LNB is powered directly from STB’s.
WARNING: LNB WILL DRAW CURRENT AND POWER FROM
OUTPUT WITH HIGEST VOLTAGE!
STB connected to outputs must ensure supply sucient power for
LNB. If not see below.
2. LNB is powered via dSCR power inserter.
(Recommended for use is PI018).
This mode is similar to 1 mode.
LNB powered via dSCR power inserter with 22 kHz bypass
connected to dSCR output. Use dSCR1 output if Legacy STB is
connected to dSCR2/Legacy output.
After LNB installation switch on the receiver(s). The LNB will begin the process of auto-detecting which type(s) of receiver
connected.
dSCR1 output are congured to connect only SCR/dSCR supported STBs. dSCR2/Legacy output is congured to connect
legacy STB (supports +13 V/+18 V/22 kHz signals), but it switches to dynamic mode SCR/dSCR if receives a DiSEqC command
according EN50494/EN50607. Set the highest frequency UB for STB located nearest to the LNB and lowest frequency for
STB farthest to the LNB. Use lowest frequencies rst if you install less than max. possible STB’s.
Turn o all STB‘s connected to dSCR2/Legacy output to reset to Legacy / Start mode.
PIN code
All User Bands (UB) are protected by PIN Code to prevent the set of UB from being used / disturbed by another user
(see Table 2).
Default settings
1. dSCR1 output are congured to connect only SCR/dSCR supported STBs. All user bands are turn o (Start mode).
dSCR2/Legacy output is congured to connect legacy STB (supports +13 V / +18 V/22 kHz signals), but it switches to
Dynamic mode SCR/dSCR if receives a DiSEqC command according EN50494/EN50607. Outputs User Bands (UB) are
the same in both subscriber outputs (see Table 2).
2. PIN Codes (see Table 2 and see chapter "Conguration").
3. Only one UB plan is set depended of delivery region, if you need another plan (see chapter "Conguration" or contact
TERRA UAB).
