INTRODUCTION

The 1.59 GPM @ 1,885 PSI Electric Pressure Washer is ideal for cleaning

buildings, terraces, facades and garden equipment using clean water and

biodegradable chemical detergents or cleaning paving slabs or rain

gutters.

WORK AREA

1. Operate in a safe work environment. Keep your work area clean, well-

lit and free of distractions. Place lights so you are not working in a

shadow.

2. Keep anyone not wearing the appropriate safety equipment away

from the work area.

3. Store tools properly in a safe and dry location. Keep tools out of the

reach of children.

4. Do not install or use in the presence of flammable gases, dust or

liquids.

5. Using a pressure washer can create puddles and slippery surfaces. The

work area should have adequate slopes and drainage to reduce the

possibility of falling due to slips.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

1. Always wear impact safety goggles that provide front and side protection

for the eyes. Eye protection equipment should comply with CSA Z94.3-07

or ANSI Z87.1 standard based on the type of work performed.

1.1 Use indirect vented safety goggles designed for wet conditions

to protect eyes from injury. Spray from this unit has extreme

pressure and can ricochet back splashing water or propelling

objects towards eyes.

2. Wear gloves that provide protection based on the work materials or

to reduce the effects of tool vibration.

3. Wear protective clothing designed for the work environment and

tool.

4. Non-skid footwear is recommended to maintain footing and balance

in the work environment.

5. This tool can cause hearing damage. Wear hearing protection gear

with an appropriate Noise Reduction Rating to withstand the decibel

levels.

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS

Control the tool, personal movement and the work environment to avoid

personal injury or damage to the tool.

1. Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence of drugs,

alcohol or medications.

2. Avoid wearing clothes or jewelry that can become entangled with the

moving parts of a tool. Keep long hair covered or bound.

3. Do not overreach when operating the tool. Proper footing and balance

enable better control in unexpected situations.

4. Securely hold this tool using both hands. Using a tool with only one

hand can result in loss of control.

SPECIFIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

1. Use the correct tool for the job. This tool was designed for a specific

function. Do not modify or alter this tool or use it for an unintended

purpose.

2. Do not use the tool if any parts are damaged, broken or misplaced.

Repair or replace the parts.

3. NEVER defeat the safety features of this product.

4. DO NOT leave the spray gun unattended while the unit is running.

5. Always operate the pressure washer from a stable surface. Avoid using

the pressure washer from precarious locations such as ladders or

scaffolding.

6. DO NOT attempt to repair damaged or defective high-pressure hoses.

Always replace them.

7. DO NOT repair leaking connections with sealant of any kind. Replace the

o-ring or seal.

8. DO NOT disconnect the high-pressure hose from the pump and spray

gun while the system is pressurized.

9. Always ensure that the spray gun, nozzles, hoses and fittings are

correctly attached before starting the engine.

10. NEVER hold onto the hose or fittings during operation. This can allow

pressurized water to escape and inflict an injury.

11. DO NOT plug this pressure water into a hot water supply. This pressure

washer is designed for cold water use only.

12. Prior to starting the pressure washer in cold weather, be sure ice has not

formed in any part of the equipment.

13. Ensure the pressure washer is not covered during operation to avoid

overheating the motor.

14. This pressure washer is capable of producing pressures up to 1,885 PSI. To

avoid property damage and personal injury, do not operate the pump with

components rated for less than 1,885 PSI working pressure.

15. If connecting the pressure washer to a portable water system, ensure

the water system is protected against backflow.

16. NEVER attach or remove wand or hose fittings while system is

pressurized.

17. Never transport or make adjustments to this unit while it is running.

18. Do not allow the high-pressure hose to come in contact with any hot

part of the unit. The hose might be damaged, possibly causing it to

burst or leak under high pressure.

19. Shut off the pressure washer if it is leaking wate r. Discharge all

pressure before tightening fittings or having repair work done by a

qualified technician.

SPRAYING PRECAUTIONS

DANGER! The pressure washer produces fluid pressures and velocities

strong enough to penetrate human and animal flesh that will result in

serious injury or amputation with some nozzles.

DANGER! NEVER aim the pressure washer spray gun in the direction of

people or animals, even if the power and water supply are turned off.

High velocity fluid spray can cause objects to break, propelling particles

at high speeds.

1. Keep operating area clear of all persons, animals and obstacles.

2. DO NOT spray flammable or toxic liquids.

3. DO NOT spray near a power source.

4. DO NOT lock the spray gun in open position.

5. Only use a spray gun that has a trigger lock or trigger guard in place

and in working order.

6. Be careful when squeezing the trigger, as recoil from the spray gun

can cause the operator to fall.

7. NEVER place hands in front of nozzle.

8. Always be certain spray gun, nozzles and accessories are correctly

attached.

9. Relieve system pressure after shutting off the engine and water

supply by aiming the spray gun in safe direction and squeezing the

trigger until water stops flowing.

10. Keep high pressure hose connected to pump and spray gun while

system is pressurized.

HYDRAULIC PRECAUTIONS

DANGER! Seek immediate medical attention if hydraulic fluid under

pressure penetrates your skin. See Injection Injury precautions for

instructions before using a pressurized hydraulic system.

1. Do not touch or handle hydraulic hoses or components while under

pressure. Hydraulic fluid escaping under pressure has sufficient force

to penetrate your clothing and skin. A pinpoint hole may inject

hydraulic fluid into your body. Seek immediate medical attention if

this occurs (see Injection Injury).

2. Never exceed the hydraulic system’s load capacity (see Specifications).

3. Hydraulic oil under pressure is hot and can cause a burn injury if

touched, sprayed or spilled. Allow the hydraulic system to cool before

conducting maintenance.

4. Do not attempt makeshift repairs to a hydraulic system. Such repairs

can fail suddenly and create a hazardous condition.

5. Hydraulic fluid has a combustible flash point of 200°F (93°F). Do not

expose the fluid to an ignition source.

6. Change your clothing immediately if sprayed with hydraulic fluid.

Store clothing or rags contaminated with hydraulic fluid in an

approved metal safety can with a spring-closing lid and venting

designed to contain a fire.

INJECTION INJURY

DANGER! Seek immediate, professional medical treatment if fluid

penetrates your skin. It may feel like a pricking or sting. Do not wait for

the appearance of symptoms. A toxic reaction can occur from the

exposure to detergents or degreasers.

Inform the medical staff that you have a fluid penetration injury as soon as

you arrive at the medical facility. The severity of the symptoms will

depend on the type of fluid injected. Bring the Safety Data Sheet for the

fluid with you to the medical facility if possible.

INJECTION PRECAUTIONS

Fluid can penetrate the skin at 100 PSI pressure. Fluid escaping under

pressure from the tool has sufficient force to penetrate your clothing and

skin. Follow the precautions below to avoid an injection injury.

1. Always check for leaks wearing a face shield, safety goggles,

rubberized gloves and protective clothes.

2. Release all pressure from the system before you inspect it.

3. Do not use your hands to detect a fluid leak. Use a large piece of

wood, cardboard or paper and watch for discolouration.

4. Replace damaged parts with identical manufacturer's components to

ensure it is rated to handle the pressure.

RISK OF CHEMICAL BURN

DANGER! Use of acids, toxic or corrosive chemicals, poisons, insecticides,

or any kind of flammable solvent with this product could result in

serious injury or death.

1. DO NOT use acids, gasoline, kerosene, or any other flammable

materials in this product. Use only household detergents, cleaners

and degreasers recommended for use in pressure washers.

2. Wear protective clothing to protect eyes and skin from contact with

sprayed materials.

3. DO NOT use chlorine bleach or any other corrosive compound.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

WARNING! Do not touch or handle a live tool with any part of your body

that is wet or damp. Wet skin reduces resistance to electrical current,

increasing the danger of a serious or fatal shock.

WARNING! To reduce risk of electric shock, be certain that the plug is

connected to a properly grounded receptacle.

1. Disconnect the tool from the power supply before making any

adjustments, changing accessories, cleaning, servicing or when

storing. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting

the tool accidentally.

2. Protect yourself against electric shocks when working on electrical

equipment. Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces. There is an

increased chance of electrical shock if your body is grounded.

3. Do not expose the tool to rain, snow, frost or any other damp or wet

conditions. Water entering a tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

4. Do not disconnect the power cord in place of using the power switch.

This will prevent an accidental start-up when the power cord is

plugged into the power supply.

4.1 In the event of a power failure, turn off the machine as soon as

the power is interrupted. The possibility of accidental injury

could occur if the power returns and the unit is not switched off.

5. Do not alter any parts of the tool or accessories. All parts and

accessories are designed with built-in safety features that may be

compromised if altered.

6. Make certain the power source conforms to requirements of your

equipment (see Specifications).

7. This tool is only for use on 120 V (single phase) and is equipped with

a three-prong grounded power supply cord and plug. Check with a

qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is

properly grounded. If the tool should electronically malfunction or

break down, grounding provides a low resistance path to carry

electricity away from the user.

7.1 Never remove the grounding prong or modify the plug in any

way, as this will render the tool unsafe.

7.2 Do not use any adapter plugs.

WARNING! All wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician.

POWER CORD

1. Insert the power cord plug directly to the power supply whenever

possible. Use extension cords or surge protectors only when the

tool's power cord cannot reach a power supply from the work area.

1.1 When operating a tool outside, use an outdoor extension cord

marked W-A or W. These cords are rated for outdoor use and

reduce the risk of electric shock.

2. Do not operate this tool if the power cord is frayed, damaged or

poorly spliced, as an electric shock may occur, resulting in personal

injury or property damage.

2.1 Inspect the tool's power cord for cracks, fraying or other faults in

the insulation or plug before each use.

2.2 Discontinue use if a power cord feels more than comfortably

warm while operating the tool.

3. Keep all connections dry and off the ground to reduce the risk of

electric shock. Do not touch the plug with wet hands.

4. Prevent damage to the power cord by observing the following:

4.1 Do not pull on the cord to disconnect the plug from an outlet.

4.2 Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.

4.3 Never use the cord to carry the tool.

4.4 Place the electrical cord in a position that prevents it from

coming into contact with the tool and getting caught by the

workpiece. The cord should always stay behind the tool.

5. Do not allow people, mobile equipment or vehicles to pass over

unprotected power cords.

5.1 Position power cords away from traffic areas.

5.2 Place cords in reinforced conduits or place planks on either side

of the power cord to create a protective trench.

6. Do not wrap the cord around the tool, as sharp edges may cut

insulation or cause cracks if wound too tight. Gently coil cord and

either hang on a hook or fasten with a device to keep cord together

during storage.

UNPACKING

WARNING! Do not operate the tool if any part is missing. Replace the

missing part before operating. Failure to do so could result in a

malfunction and personal injury.

Remove the parts and accessories from the packaging and inspect for damage.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION

Letter references in parenthesis (A) refer to the included Identification Key.

1. Remove the side panels on the pressure

washer (Fig. 2).

2. Position the front handle (H) so the bolt

holes align with the pressure washer

bolt holes. The handle’s angled corner

face down in this position.

3. Slide two bolts through a plate, insert

through the handle and screw the bolts into the pressure washer.

4. Repeat on the other side.

5. Fit the spray wand into the

gun and rotate it until the

two parts are completely

locked (Fig. 3).

6. Snap the desired nozzle

onto the quick-connect

collar until it clicks into

place.

7. Connect the sliver end of the high-pressure hose to the trigger gun

and twist the nut clockwise to secure the connection (Fig. 4).

8. Connect the nozzle or turbo nozzle to the

spray wand. Push the top button down and

press the nozzle into place (Fig. 5). Release

the button. Pull the nozzle to confirm it is

locked in place.

9. Connect the other end of the high-pressure

hose to the water outlet on the washer and twist the black rotatable

end-piece

coupler) to the water inlet of the pressure washer, then thread your

garden hose (male end) into the garden hose adaptor (Fig. 7).

OPERATION

STARTING THE PRESSURE WASHER

NOTICE! Do not allow the water supply pressure to exceed 60 PSI.

Excessive pressure can damage the tool.

When the motor is running, do not allow the pressure washer to remain

idle for more than five minutes. If allowed to remain idle, the water in the

unit will heat up, possibly causing damage to the pressure washer.

1. Lift the pressure washer so it is standing on end while in use.

2. Plug the pressure water into a power outlet.

2.1 The pressure washer power cord plug has a built-in Ground-Fault

Circuit Interrupter (GFCI).

3. Adjust the nozzle aperture (see Adjusting the Nozzle).

4. Turn the pressure washer on by twisting the dial to the ON position (Fig. 8).

5. Point the wand in a direction to eliminate the possibility of spraying a

bystander, animal or plant.

6. Unlock and hold down the trigger to start the stream. Be aware that

when it is first starts, the gun will kick.

7. Allow the water to flow until the bubbles in the

stream disappears. This should take no more

than 2 minutes.

8. Turn the power off and press the trigger to

remove the built-up pressure in the tool. Lock

the trigger when pressure is relieved.

9. The pressure washer is ready for use.

USING THE PRESSURE WASHER

Turn the power off if you are pausing longer than five minutes between

sprayings.

1. Unlock and hold down the trigger to start the stream. Be aware that

when it is first starts, the gun will kick.

2. Start with a low-pressure nozzle and gradually use higher pressures as

needed. Spray from approximately 12 in. distance.

2.1 Test spray the surface at an edge to make sure that the stream is

not too strong.

2.2 If the stream damages the surface, move farther away to reduce

the applied pressure.

2.3 If the stream is still too strong, lock the trigger in the safety

position and change to a lower pressure nozzle.

3. Hold the wand at about a 45° angle when cleaning; spraying the

surface directly could embed dirt into the surface (especially with the

high-pressure nozzles).

4. Clean vertical and sloped surfaces from the top down.

5. When cleaning horizontal surfaces, occasionally use the stream to

clear the area of excess water.

6. Hold the trigger down and move the wand back and forth slowly and

steadily to pressure wash the surface. Take special care when

spraying surfaces made of two different materials (brick and mortar,

for example), to avoid damaging the softer of the two materials

during pressure washing.

7. If the surface is streaked or uneven at the end of a job, switch to a

Nozzle that has a wider spray pattern to blend the affected area.

8. Switch the power to low when spraying with detergent. High power

can embed the detergent and make it difficult to remove.

8.1 Do not allow detergent to dry on the surface. Give it enough

time to react, then clean it off. Respray as necessary to keep the

surface wet.

8.2 Increase the power to remove the loosened dirt.

9. Once the task is complete, turn the power off and press the trigger to

remove the built-up pressure in the tool.

10. Lock the trigger when pressure is relieved.

11. Disconnect the power and water source.

12. Disassemble the pressure washer for storage once work is done.

ADJUSTING THE NOZZLE

The angle of spray and water pressure coming out of the nozzle may be

adjusted by rotating the front of the nozzle. This will vary the spray pattern from

approximately a 0° narrow high impact stream (by turning the nozzle fully to the

left) to a 60° wide fan spray (by turning the nozzle fully to the right).

A narrow stream has high impact force on the cleaning surface and results

in maximum deep cleaning in a concentrated area. However, this narrow

high impact spray must be used cautiously, as it may damage some

surfaces.

A wide fan pattern will distribute the impact of the water over a larger area,

resulting in excellent cleaning action with a reduced risk of surface damage.

Large surface areas can be cleaned more quickly using a wide fan pattern.

USING DETERGENT

IMPORTANT! Only use the Black (low pressure) Nozzle when spraying

detergents. The power of the other nozzles will propel mist back at the

operator and can embed detergent into the surface.

Only use detergent in low pressure mode.

1. Select a detergent/cleanser appropriate for the

intended application.

2. Prepare detergent solution as recommended by

the manufacturer.

3. Turn and remove the detergent bottle spray head

(Fig. 9).

4. Fill bottle with prepared detergent solution. A

small funnel may help with this task.

5. Reattach the spray head.

6. Remove the Extension Wand from the Spray Gun

(if connected).

7. Attach the Detergent Bottle to the Spray Gun by pressing the Bottle

spray head inside the Gun and then turning

the collar counter clockwise until spray

head locks inside the Gun. Tug on the

Bottle to make sure it is secured (Fig. 10).

8. Pull spray gun trigger and apply detergent

to a dry surface, starting at lower portion

of area to be washed and work upward,

using long, even, overlapping strokes.

RINSING

1. Keep the spray gun a safe distance from the area you plan to spray.

2. Apply a spray to a small area, and then check the surface for damage.

If no damage is found, it is okay to continue cleaning.

3. Start at the top of the area to be rinsed, working down with same

overlapping strokes as you used for washing and applying detergent.

When you have completed use of the detergent injection system, continue

to run to flush clean water through the Detergent Bottle until spray head

is thoroughly cleaned.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is efficient,

easier to control and will have fewer problems.

2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace damaged or

worn components. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.

3. Only use accessories intended for use with this tool.

4. Maintain the tool’s labels and name plates. These carry important

information. If unreadable or missing, contact Princess Auto Ltd. for

replacements.

WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the tool. An

improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the user and/or others.

AFTER EACH USE

CHECK HIGH PRESSURE HOSE

WARNING! NEVER repair the high pressure hose. Repairs can fail and will

be weaker than the hose itself. A hose that fails while under pressure

can inflict a serious injury. Replace with a hose that has a maximum

pressure rating that exceeds the pressure washer’s maximum output.

The high-pressure hose can develop leaks due to wear, kinking or misuse and

abuse. Inspect the hose each time before using it. Check the hose for cuts,

leaks, abrasions or bulging spots. Also check the couplings to ensure they are

not loose. Replace the hose immediately if any of these conditions exist.

CHECK SPRAY GUN

Examine the hose connection to the spray gun and make sure it is secure.

Check that the trigger lock is in place to prevent accidental spraying.

Replace the spray gun immediately if the trigger lock is damaged or will

not remain in place.

CHECK SPRAY WAND AND PRESSURE NOZZLES

A pulsing sensation felt when squeezing the trigger indicates either the

spray wand or the pressure nozzle is partially clogged and is causing

pressure to build in the pump.

1. Shut off the engine and turn off the water supply. Then release the

pressure in the pump system by aiming the spray gun in a safe

direction and squeezing the tri g ger.

2. Remove the spray nozzle from end of spray gun wand.

3. Use a small paper clip to free any foreign material clogging or

restricting the spray nozzle.

4. Disconnect the spray gun wand and check for foreign material that

may clog the tube.

5. Remove additional debris by back flushing water through the spray

gun wand using a garden hose.

6. Reinstall spray nozzle into spray gun wand.

7. Reconnect spray gun wand to spray gun.

8. Make sure the garden hose is connected to the pump’s water inlet.

Check that high pressure hose is connected to spray gun and pump.

Turn on the water.

9. Test the pressure washer with each of the spray nozzles to ensure

they are all unclogged.

REPAIRING LEAKING CONNECTIONS

WARNING! Do not use thread-seal tape or liquid to prevent leaks in the

high pressure hose. This can cause a high pressure leak that can result in

a serious injury or injection injury.

1. Replace the o-rings of any connection that leaks.

2. Replace the connectors if the leaks continue.

CLEANING

Use a damp cloth to wipe exterior surfaces clean. A soft bristle brush can

loosen caked on dirt, oil, etc. A vacuum cleaner will remove loose dirt and

debris in difficult to reach places.

Examine the screen on the pump water inlet. Clean it if the screen is

clogged or replace it if screen is damaged.

STORE THE PRESSURE WASHER

1. Detach the spray wand (B) from the trigger gun (K).

2. Push the disconnect button on the trigger gun and pull the high-

pressure hose (D) out of the trigger gun.

3. Slide the trigger gun into the holder (L) until it is snug.

4. Slide the wand into the holder (E).

5. Coil the high-pressure hose and hang it over the hose storage. Do not

kink the hose.

6. Wrap the high-pressure hose (D) around the hose hook (F).

7. Store the pressure washer indoors in an area between 10 and 30°C

for long term storage. Cover with a dust cloth.

DISPOSAL

Recycle a tool damaged beyond repair at the appropriate facility.

Contact your local municipality for a list of disposal facilities or by-laws for

electronic devices, batteries, oil or other toxic liquids.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not

function properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so, have a qualified

technician service the tool.
