Before you deliver your product for warranty services please backup all
data, including all software programs. You will be responsible for
reinstalling all data. Data recovery is not included in the warranty
service and aigo is not responsible for data that may be lost or
damaged during transit or a repair.
Safety Instructions
Do not open the Digital Photo Frame or attempt your own repairs.
High-voltage internal components create the risk of electrical
shock when exposed. Contact aigo Service Center for any
maintenance and repairs.
Do not expose to extreme temperatures.
Do not apply or subject the LCD screen to excessive pressure.
Do not expose to chemicals such as benzene or thinner.
Do not store in dusty or damp area.
Keep the device away from water and other liquids. Moisture
creates the danger of fire and electrical shock.
Do not use the device in the rain or any location where there is the
possibility of exposure to liquids.
Unplug the AC adapter if the device is exposed to water or any
other liquids. Using the device under these conditions creates the
danger of electrical shock or fire.

1) To turn ON/OFF the power supply.
- When it is turned to OFF position, the frame will be turned OFF;
- When it is turned to ON position, the frame will be turned ON;
- When it is pushed further upwards to LED, the decorative LED
indicators (optional) along the side of the frame will be turned ON.

DIRECTIONAL buttons : To select on-screen
items.
ENTER button: To confirm a selection / Enter /
OK.
INFO button: To view the file information.
ROTATION button: To rotate a picture in
anti-clockwise or clockwise direction.
ESC button: To exit a menu or folder.
MUTE key: To silence audio during slideshow
playback.
Zoom key: To zoom during slideshow playback.
Volume key: Use for volume control.
MODE key: Use to toggle slideshow display in
normal or wide screen mode.
Note: Effective distance for remote control is within 5m, horizon angle±45
and vertical angle±5.

Changing the Clip-On Panel (Interchangeable)
The A396+ is bundled with two sets of interchangeable Clip-On Panel,
one Multicolor and one Silver unit.
1. Pick up the frame from the table.
2. Press the Clip-On Panel Lock on the top of the A396+ and carefully
dismantle the frame from the Outer Frame.
3. Place the main unit (frame) on the table.
4. To separate the Clip-on Panel from the Outer Frame, press the back
of the Clip-on Panel firmly and separate it from the Outer Frame.
- Now get the other Clip-On Panel and replace it.

Setting up the Frame
Insert the catch of the Stand into the slot at the back of the frame.
Rotate Stand until it is firmly locked in the slot (see Figure 4.4).

Connecting the AC Power Adapter
To power ON the frame, connect the bundled power cable to the power
jack at the side of the frame. Next, plug connect AC power adapter to
the power socket on the wall (see Figure 4.5).

Display Mode
1. Preset settings:
After setting up the frame, remove all external memory cards from the
card slot and turn ON power supply. “aigo” logo will be displayed
followed by the Calendar mode (see Figure 6.1).
Note: The default startup screen (Calendar) setting can be changed later in
System Setup mode.
When setting the Clock and Alarm settings in System Setup. Simply
select from any of the three built-in ring tones available or customize a
personal “MP3” ring tone. The supported format for personal ring tone
is in “.MP3”. The filename should be named as “RING1.MP3”,
“RING2.MP3” or “RING3.MP3” and store them in root directory of the
built-in memory (NAND) before the ring tone can be customized.
When setting an Image, Music or Movie as the startup screen, system
will search for the file according to the following order:
SD/MMC/MS ProCFUSBNAND.
Note: When no file is be found, system will display the Card Select mode.

In Calendar mode, press the ENTER button to access the Card Select
mode (see Figure 6.2).

Select NAND option and press the ENTER button. The system exit and
return to Function Select mode (see Figure 6.3).

Photo Playback
In Function Select mode, select icon and press the ENTER
button to enter picture view mode. The picture view mode will be
displayed with a 9-photos thumbnail preview (see Figure 6.4). Press
ESC button to return Function Select mode.

Navigate using the joystick buttons to any of the 9-photo thumbnail and
press the ENTER button to display the selected photo. The selected
photo followed by the any photo stored in the current directory will be
automatically displayed. To exit from the slideshow, press ESC button

and playback stops automatically. Press ESC button again to return to
the 9-photo thumbnail mode.
During slideshow, press
or Joystick button to display previous
or next photo; press
Joystick button to activate Brightness control
(see Figure 6.5a) or press
Joystick button to activate Volume menu
(see Figure 6.5b). After the settings has been changed, press ESC
button to exit from the menu.
Note: The Brightness & Volume control will automatically exit when there is
no operation for more than 5 seconds.

During slideshow, press the ENTER button to activate Picture Control
Bar. (See Figure 6.6).
For music playback during slideshow, press
or Joystick button
to switch Music Control Bar.
Press ESC button to exit from the menu.
Note: The Brightness & Volume control will automatically exit when there is
no operation for more than 10 seconds.

The functions available in Picture Control Bar are as shown in diagram
below (see Figure 6.7).

Music Playback
- In Function Select mode, use or Joystick button to select
icon, followed by ENTER button to music mode(see Figure 6.8).

System will begin searching for music files in the current directory
(built-in memory) and playback music automatically. During music
playback, use Control Bar to control the playback operation (see Figure
6.9). Press
Joystick button to navigate to Play mode and there are
three modes available in this option - Standard, Repeat One and Dir
Repeat. Press the ENTER button to select one of the modes.

Joystick button to close Control Bar. Press Joystick
button or ENTER button to open Control Bar again.
This frame supports song lyric display during music playback in “.LRC”
file format. Both the Music file name and Song Lyric file name must
both be identical. (Example: MyLove
.mp3 + MyLove.lrc). Store these 2
files within the same folder and during music playback, the song lyrics
will be displayed automatically.

Press
Joystick button to activate Volume menu (see Figure 6.10),
use
or Joystick button to adjust the volume and press ESC
button to close Volume menu.

Video Playback
In Function Select mode, press the or Joystick button to select
icon followed by ENTER button to the movie mode.
System will begin searching for video files in the current directory
(built-in memory) and playback video automatically. During music
playback, press
Joystick button to open Volume menu. Press the
ENTER or ESC button to open or close Video Control Bar (see Figure
6.11).

The functions available in Video Control Bar are as shown in diagram
below (see Figure 6.12).

Press
Joystick button to switch to Audio Code Information or Play
Mode. In playback mode, there are three modes available in this option
- Standard, Repeat One and Dir Repeat. Press the ENTER button to
select one of the modes.

Note: Please keep to the following requirements for video playback:
- Flash Disk or NAND: Maximum up to 7Mbps.
- Memory Card: Maximum up to 4Mbps.
The maximum resolution for video playback is 720x560.

In Function Select mode, press the

icon followed by ENTER button to the File Management mode
(see Figure 6.13). This list shows the current memory, press ESC
button to return to Function Select mode.

picture file can be previewed on the right panel screen.
Note: The same function works for Picture, Music and Movie mode, ONLY the
select file will be displayed.

To Delete or Copy Files in the List
Deleting File:
- Press
or Joystick button to select a file followed by Joystick
button and current selection symbol
(see Figure 6.15) will be
displayed beside the file name.
- Press
Joystick button again to cancel selection.

- Press
or Joystick button to move cursor and repeat last step to
perform multi-files selection. (See Figure 6.16).

Copying File:
- Press
or Joystick button to scroll to the target source file (file to
be copied) followed by
Joystick button and the symbol will be
displayed.
- Select the file, press
Joystick button or ESC button to exit current
folder and navigate to the destination folder (file to be copied to).
- Press & hold ENTER button to open File Operation menu and select
icon
. The selected file will be copied to the destination folderSee
(Figure 6.19).
Note: When there is insufficient memory space or the same file is already
present, error information will be displayed, copy operation unsuccessful.

In Function Select mode, use the
or Joystick button to select

followed by the ENTER button to enter the System Setup
mode. (See Figure 6.20).

- Press
or Joystick button to scroll cursor. If an item has only
one sub-menu option, press to select option.
- When an item has a sub-menu option, press the ENTER button to
view available submenu options.
- Press
or Joystick button to select an option followed by or
Joystick button to change the settings.

The settings are shown below:
Language: Menu language setup.
Pic. Play set: To set the speed of the slide show. (Fast / Middle / Slow).
In the other sub menu options, the following settings are available:
- Picture display normal or wide screen.
- Pic Play mode: To set the effect of the slideshow during photo
playback.
- Clock set: To change the date and time on the clock.
- Alarm set: To change the settings for the alarm. The photo frame has
3 built-in ring tones and two different modes available (Once / Every
Day).
Note: Personal ring tone can also be customized.
Start up screen: Calendar, Image, Music, Movie and File List mode can
be customized as the start up screen.
Note: The default setting is the Calendar mode.

Card Select Mode
This mode is used for reading an external memory card.
- Insert external memory card and power ON the frame.
- The product logo will be displayed followed by the start up screen.
Note: The default startup screen is the Calendar mode. In Calendar mode,
press the ENTER button to go to Card Select Mode (See Figure 6.21).

When an external memory card is inserted, the relevant card icon in
Card Select mode turns Orange color. Use
or Joystick button to
select a card type and press the ENTER button to go to Function
Select mode.

USB Working Mode
When the USB interface of the frame is connected to a PC (See Figure
6.22), the frame enters USB (USB Slave) mode. At this time, the
computer can directly access the memory card inserted in the frame.
Note: To connect the frame to a computer via USB interface, there should be
no slideshow playback at the point of connection. Stop any photo playback
before the connection to computer.

After the USB interface of the equipment is connected to a portable
memory, the system enters the USB Host mode (as shown in figure
6.23)

When in USB Host mode, the USB Flash Disk or other USB Devices
will be named as “UDISK” and displayed in the File List.
Note:
1. To avoid any accident caused by insufficient USB power on the computer,
ensure that the frame is powered ON before connecting it to a computer.
2. To connect an external USB device (eg. Thumbdrive) to the frame, the USB
devices must not be operating on any current of 500mA and above. An
external power supply may be needed when necessary.
3. Supports Windows2000 & XP.
