Installation Procedures When Using
Housing with Heater and Fan
This section provides step-by-step procedures in installing the camera on a vertical pole using an
Pole Mount with Mounting Bracket and Housing with heater and fan.
Before installation, prepare the following tools and accessories which are not included in the
camera package, thus must be purchased separately:
ï‚· Pole Mount with Mounting Bracket and Housing SMAX-0093 for 110V or
SMAX-0094 for 220V
ï‚· Outdoor Power Cable (length depends on installation requirement)
ï‚· Exterior-Grade Ethernet Cable (length depends on installation requirement)
Step 1: Attach the Pole Mount and Bracket
1. Using a screwdriver, turn the screw head of the wire strap counter-clockwise continuously
until the two ends are detached.
2. Insert the wire strap through the strap holes of the pole mount.

3. Do steps 1 and 2 to the other wire strap.
4. Position the pole mount with the cable path up and encircle the pole with the wire straps.
NOTE: The wire straps can hold between 134 ~ 228 mm (5.28 ~ 9 in.) pole diameter.
5. Continuously turn the screw head clockwise to adjust the wire strap until it snugly fits the pole.
Do the same to the other wire strap.

Step 6: Waterproof and Insert the Cable
1. As needed, detach one or more clamping nuts of the cable gland. The cable gland is where
the cable, like Ethernet and power, will pass through. Usually, one cable gland is used for
Ethernet and another one is used for the power cable.
2. Using a finger, push from one side to remove the sealing insert from the cable gland body.
3. Using a pointed object, such as a screwdriver, push through the thin rubber layer of the
sealing insert to create a hole.
