Unpack NetLink II Setup
Launch a terminal emulation program such as
HyperTerminal. Connect to the port with the
setup cable attached to it. Communications
parameters are 9600,N,8,1 with no flow control.
Verify the setup is valid for your network.
Note: Pressing Enter a few times will initiate
setup.

Remove everything from the box.
Connect the setup cable(PN: NL-CBL1-01) to
the NetLink II.
Apply AC Power to the NetLink II
Attach 85-265VAC to the terminal block on the
rear of the unit using the supplied AC Power
Cable(PN: NL-CBLP-01).

Once power is applied, the green
power(Pwr) indicator on the front of the
NetLink II should illuminate.
Connect the other end of the setup cable to a
DB9 serial port on your PC.
Note: In setup mode the Status(St) indicator
will flash to indicate a valid connection.

Note: The terminals are labeled for Line(L),
Neutral(N) and Ground(G). The corresponding
wire colors on shown on the left.

Verify Communications
Using Microsoft Internet Explorer, browse to the
NetLink II by entering the IP Address in the
Address box. QUESTemp° values should be
displayed in the Value column. If the NetLink II
cannot communicate to the QUESTemp° a value
of !ERR! will be displayed.
Configure Additional Settings
Click on the setup link on the bottom of the main
page to configure additional settings on the
NetLink II. The username is root and the
password is master. Verify these settings.

Connect the included cable(PN: NL-CBL2-01) to
the NetLink II and tighten the retaining screws.
Connect the other end of the cable to the
QUESTemp° at the port labeled DATA.
Connect the QUESTemp° Cable
From a PC connected to the same network as
the NetLink II, open a DOS command prompt
and enter the following command:
ping IPADDRESS
Where IPADDRESS is the IP address of the
NetLink II configured in step 3. The NetLink II
should reply to these pings.

Connect the Ethernet Network Cable
Connect a Category 5 grade or better Ethernet
cable to the NetLink II.
Connect the other end of the cable to your
network.
Once connected to your network, the green
link(LNK) indicator should illuminate.
