Real Fyre WCS-1 is a wood chip switch system designed for use with Peterson gas log sets. It allows you to conveniently turn your gas log set on and off using a realistic-looking ceramic wood chip switch. The switch is easy to install and connects directly to the valve terminals of your APK-11(P), APK-14(P), or G6 burner system. GENERAL
1. Insure that all cautions and warnings are observed which
are contained in your APK-11(P), APK-14(P) or G6
installation and operating instructions.
2. Be sure your APK-11(P), APK-14(P) or G6 is properly
installed.
INSTALLING THE WOODCHIP SWITCH
1. The WCS-1 switch is housed inside a ceramic wood chip.
This housing is not only attractive, it also protects the
switch from heat generated by the Peterson gas log set.
2. Place the WCS-1 outside the firebox on the hearth or, if
in the firebox, place the WCS-1 at least 8" away from the
burner near the front opening of the firebox.
Note: Do not place the WCS-1 on top of the Heat
Shield or near the fire.
3. Be sure the wood chip switch is in the 'OFF' position (page
2)
4. Remove the toggle switch connectors from the valve
terminals.
4. Connect the male connectors of the WCS-1 to the valve
terminals as shown on page 2.
5. TO LIGHT YOUR PETERSON LOG SET, first light the
pilot following the instructions contained in your APK-
11(P), APK-14(P) or G6 installation and operating
instructions. Press the wood chip switch to the 'ON'
position (page 2). Be sure the toggle switch connectors
have been removed from the valve terminal. If the log set
fails to light, refer to the trouble shooting section of the
APK installation and operating instructions or the G6
instructions.
6. TO TURN OFF YOUR PETERSON LOG SET, press the
wood chip switch to the 'OFF' position (see page 2).

- Do not store or use gasoline or other
flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity
of this or any other appliance.
- WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS
• Do not try to light any appliance.
• Do not touch any electrical switch; do not
use any phone in your building.
• Immediately call your gas supplier from
neighbor's phone. Follow the gas
supplier's instructions.
• If you cannot reach your gas supplier,
call the fire department.
- Installation and service must be performed
by a qualified, professional installer,
service agency or the gas supplier.
WARNING: If the information in this
manual is not followed exactly, a fire or
explosion may result causing property
damage, personal injury or loss of life.

CONNECTING WCS-1 WIRE LEADS TO TOGGLE SWITCH CONTROL
1. Remove the toggle switch connectors from the
valve terminal.
Note: This will eliminate the use of the
toggle switch, on the APK or G6 burner
system, and let you operate by the wood
chip switch only.
2. Connect the two male connectors of the wood
chip switch to the valve terminals (see Figure
1). Use the diagram to the right for correct
connection of each remote valve.
Note: A valve terminal screw is included with
your wood chip switch to make proper
connection to the APK-11 valve terminal.
Note: The wood chip switch will now
operate in place of the toggle switch. The
toggle switch, on the APK or G6 burner
system, will not be operational after the
wood chip switch connection has been
made.
3. If using the G6 burner system. Follow the
diagram shown in Figure 2B. Your toggle
switch is located on the bottom right side of
your burner and should be disconnected.
