Link electronic 1652 is a digital audio distribution amplifier that can accept one digital audio input and provide eight digital audio outputs. The device is compatible with AES3 and AES3-ID standards, and it can be used to distribute digital audio signals over long distances.

The 1652 has a number of features that make it ideal for professional audio applications. These features include:

  • Re-clocked and EQ: The 1652's digital signal path uses state-of-the-art integrated circuits to re-slice and re-clock the data, which helps to attenuate jitter. The device also has an EQ that can be used to compensate for cable loss.

High performance Digital Audio distribution is easy
with the LINK 1652 Digital Audio Distribution
Amplifier. The 1652 accepts one input and
provides eight outputs of digital audio to AES3-
1992 specifications. Up to eleven 1652s may be
mounted in a 2RU space with LINK's DigiFlex
frame. Transformer coupled inputs and outputs are
standard to eliminate the possibility of ground
loops. The frame's unique modular rear cell design
allows the user to select terminal block (Model
1016 for twisted-pair cable) or BNC (Model 1017
for coaxial cable) connectors. The BNC rear cell
interface is designed to AES3-ID specifications.
The digital signal path uses state-of-the-art
integrated circuits. The data is re-sliced and re-
clocked for jitter attenuation. Sample rate is
automatically detected and indicated by front panel
LEDs. Data errors are also detected and reported
by red LEDs on both the front and rear panels. A
"Frame Fault" output can also be enabled for
centralized error reporting.
Designed with the professional in mind, the
DigiFlex 1652 will provide years of error free
performance. Backed by LINK's standard 10-year
warranty, the 1652 combines high-performance
and economy.
