1. Xover (the signal present at OUTPUTS may be ltered with a
crossover frequency for daisy chain to a speaker, at 120 Hz or
90 Hz)
2. Outputs Mode (Link if the signal present at OUTPUTS is the one
applied to the subwoofer, Xover if the signal at OUTPUTS is
ltered according to the frequency selected by means of Xover
button)
“SUBWOOFER SETUP” [5]:
1. Delay (applicable delay: 0 ÷ 4.5 ms, with 0.5 ms steps)
2. Polarity (0°, or 180°, useful for wavefront optimisation through
acoustic wave phase reversal)
Before power-up, set Subwoofer Level selector [3] to 0 dB (Mono or
Stereo, depending on the selected conguration).

INPUT CONNECTIONS AND AUDIO DAISY CHAIN
CASE A (MONO connection) between subwoofer and speaker:
According to the specic conguration (mono or stereo), one or two cables (not supplied) are required at
input and at daisy chain. XLR connectors are required.
In the event of a MONO connection between subwoofer and speaker:
1. Connect mixer output to subwoofer INPUTS 1 connector
2. Connect subwoofer OUTPUTS 1 connector to speaker input.
3. For each speaker, select the type of input impedance on LINE.
4. For each channel in the conguration, set subwoofer OUTPUTS MODE [4] to XOVER, in order to daisy-chain a
signal ltered to the crossover frequency to the speaker.
English

SIGMA S218 Cod. 420120258 REV. 1.0
CASE B (STEREO connection between a subwoofer and 2 speakers)
1. Connect mixer L, R outputs to subwoofer INPUTS 1 and 2 respectively.
2. Daisy-chain the signal to the speakers connecting OUTPUTS 1 to LH speaker Input, and OUTPUTS 2 to RH
speaker Input.
3. For each speaker, select the type of input impedance on LINE.
4. Select XOVER [4] frequency and set subwoofer OUTPUTS MODE [4] to XOVER, in order to daisy-chain a
signal ltered to the crossover frequency to the speaker.

CONNECTION AND POWER DAISY CHAIN
For power supply connection of the device, insert the connector of the supplied powerCON cable into
“AUTO RANGE MAINS INPUT” [8]. Then insert the plug into an outlet having a proper earth conductor.
English
If you want to daisy-chain the power supply to a second speaker, use a cable having powerCON connectors
(not supplied). The maximum current and power of the daisy-chained system (including S218 absorption)
are indicated on the screen print as well as in the POWER SUPPLY SPECIFICATIONS section of SPECIFICATIONS.

3. USAGE EXAMPLES
Types of installation other than those here described are not allowed.
Never use the handles to suspend the subwoofer
Always check that the positioning is stable and that the installation does not pose a danger to
people, animals or property.
English
FLOOR USAGE
SIGMA S218 subwoofers may be used directly on the oor (see
gure opposite showing a usage example.)
USAGE WITH SPEAKER IN A STACK
A speaker may be installed directly on SIGMA S218 subwoofer.
In particular, we recommend congurations with: SIGMA S215 or
S115/115F.
Fastening by means of additional belts is required to ensure
stable and safe installation, on the optional BP-M20 base (see
ACCESSORIES).
Except for single oor usage, always use BP-M20 accessory and fastening belts, which have to be
properly anchored to the handles.

SIGMA S218 Cod. 420120258 REV. 1.0
To completion of the series, the following accessories are provided as options:
BP-M20 base, required for S218 oor installation in stacked conguration (see USAGE EXAMPLES)

5. TROUBLESHOOTING
1. Check that power supply is present upstream of the installation.
2. Ensure that the power supply cable with powerCON connector is properly plugged in.
1. Check that the input connection of the audio signal is correctly performed.
2. Check the cables for damage.
3. Ensure that the mixer or audio source is on and an output signal is present.
4. Check the general level through the “Subwoofer Level” control.
1. Check the cables for damage and replace them as required (a damaged cable may lead to signal loss or
alteration).
2. Ensure that Outputs Mode, Link and Subwoofer Mode selection settings are correct according to the
selected conguration.
