Important
This appliance is intended for household use
only.
Assemble the appliance properly before
plugging it into the wall socket.
Unplug the appliance immediately after use,
i.e. before unscrewing the bar.
Avoid touching the (SHARP) blades, especially
when the appliance is plugged in.
Never immerse the motor unit in water.
Keep the appliance out of the reach of
children.
If the mains cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by Philips, a service centre
authorised by Philips or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.
If the blades get stuck, UNPLUG THE
APPLIANCE before removing the ingredients
that block the blades.
Let hot ingredients cool down before
chopping them or pouring them into the
beaker (max. temp. 80cC/ 175cF).
Using the appliance
Bar blender
The bar blender is intended for:
- Blending fluids, e.g. dairy products, sauces, fruit
juices, soups, mixed drinks, shakes.
- Mixing soft ingredients, e.g. eggs, flour and
butter, for making e.g. batter and mayonnaise.

- Pureeing cooked ingredients, e.g. for making
baby food.
1 Immerse the blade guard completely in the
ingredients.
2 Switch the appliance on and blend the
ingredients by moving the appliance slowly
up and down and in circles.
Chopper (type HR1351 only)
The chopper attachment can be used for
chopping ingredients such as nuts, meat,
onions, hard cheese, dried fruits, chocolate,
garlic, herbs, dry bread, etc.
Make sure the coupling unit has been properly
fitted onto the chopper beaker.
1 If the ingredients stick to the chopper
beaker wall, loosen them by adding liquid
or using a spatula.
2 Cut large ingredients into pieces of
approximately 2 cm/1 inch before
processing.

Cleaning
1 Clean the beaker and the lid, the chopping
beaker and the blade unit in the
dishwasher or in warm soapy water.
It is recommended to remove the rubber ring
from the chopper before cleaning.
2 The bar of the bar blender can be cleaned
in the dishwasher, under the tap or by
immersing the blade guard in warm soapy
water and running the appliance for a
while.
3 Wipe the motor unit of the bar blender
and the coupling unit of the chopper
(HR1351) with a damp cloth. Do not
immerse them in water!
