Washers
The following is a compilation of findings and advice that hopefully will help to address
many of the issues facing the field currently with the new 27" Neptune Washers.
Vibration/Walking:
1. Level the washer or Riser and
tighten the rear leveling leg-l
nuts. Open the washer and place a
1 to 1-1/2 lb. weight (Use a bath
towel or a pair of jeans) inside th
washer.

e
Place a 3"X 5" (or similar sized piece of
paper) under each of the front legs. Put
the washer into the Spin cycle. As the
washer increases in speed try to slide
the papers out from under the legs. If
one of the pieces of paper slides out
from under one of the legs, lower this
leg slightly until the paper can not be
removed and repeat the test. Tighten
the leveling leg-locking nut up against
the bottom of the washer or Riser and
tighten the locking nut on the other leg.
Remove the paper from underneath
both legs.

2. NOT ON A RISER: Check
the tightness of the locking
nuts for the leveling legs. If
you can still rotate the leg,
then the nut is not tight
enough. Use the wrench to
tighten the nut up against the
bottom of the washer
baseframe. NOTE: You
should not be able to
rotate the leg, once the nut
is properly tightened.
3.
NOT ON A RISER: Check the rubber on the bottom
of the feet. If the rubber is missing or worn badly,
replace the bad legs. Poor rubber contact to the floor
will contribute to vibration and walking.
4. On the floor under the feet install non-slip discs, part no.
211692, directly to the floor with the rough side facing up.
Make sure the floor is clean prior to attaching to the floor.
5. If the product was carried into the home in the incorrect position as depicted below,
this can cause the upper suspension springs to become dislodged or separate the
lower dampers. Remove the top cover to the washer and check the top suspension
springs to ensure they are properly located in the pivot locations and remove the
rear access panel to see if the dampers are fully assembled.

6. ON A RISER: Install Riser Service Kit part number 35001258. This kit will replace
the washing machine leveling legs mounting the washer to the Riser with 10 mm
bolts. The kit also includes the non-slip discs (211692), Dependable Care Washer
legs (22003428) to replace the legs on the Riser and washers to fit between the
Riser and the washer. The instructions also state to sit the washer/Riser into the
black rubber cups (35001259), which were shipped with the Riser originally. See
kit instructions for more details, especially if bolts were used to mount the washer
to the riser.
7.
Check the dynamic absorbers on
top of the washer to ensure the
correct absorber assembly is
present or if any of the weights are
loose.
8.
Replace or reposition if necessary.

ensure they are
not loose.
10. Is unit installed on a "Soft" floor? Screw down a 3/4" plywood panel to the floor
under the washer. This will stiffen the floor under the washer and reduce the

the front panel of the washer. (

around the harness to cushion it. Generally the wire is loose due to a broken wire
harness retainer. The wire retainer can be broken if the washer was handled
roughly, causing the tub to shift abruptly, resulting in the retainer breaking.
Possible the wire harness located inside the front panel may be tapping again

ON A RISER: Noise from
lower access panel vibrating
against bottom of
baseframe. Add foam pads
(part# 33002256 or

of the access panel if pad
are missing. Earlier units d
not have pads. NOTE: You
can remove the Riser
drawer to access this panel.
It is not necessary to tip the
unit to perform this step as

ON A RISER
: Drawer front taps against the face of the Riser. Install foam
pads (part# 33002256 or 74007878) to the face of the Riser or to the back
of the drawer front. Riser vendor is looking at installing these at factory.

6. Rattling noise during high
spin speed operation. The
Rattling Noise is due to the
metal shield tapping against
the motor mounting bolts,
because bent over tabs on
the shield are too close to
the bolts and make a rattling
noise. Remove the motor
with shield to access the
motor shield. Flatten the
motor shield tabs as shown
below and tilt the shield
away from the motor. Place
foam tape over the flattened
tab to further cushion the
tab incase the shield makes
contact with the motor after
the adjustment.
7.
May be due to vibration absorber weight tapping against the frame on the
top of the washer. To remedy, locate the weight making contact and then
run a zip-strip thru the spring to cinch the spring together.
8. Consumer hears loud noise during spin c
The opening and closing of the rear vent
flappers as air pressure changes occur
inside the outer tub cause this noise.
Replace the vent flapper with part number
34001455. A new vent flapper was designed
with a foam cushion mounted in the center of
the flapper.

9. Rapid snapping and/or popping sound from
the rear of the washer during spin
. This is a normal operation sound as
the water is being extracted through the drain holes in the spinner and is
hitting the outer tub before draining out of the washer.
