•Cleartheareaofsticks,stones,wire,branches,andother
debristhatthebladecouldhit.
•Avoidstrikingsolidobjectswiththeblade.Never
deliberatelymowoveranyobject.
•Ifthemachinestrikesanobjectorstartstovibrate,
immediatelystoptheengine,disconnectthewirefromthe
sparkplug,removetheelectric-startbutton,andexamine
themachinefordamage.
•Forbestperformance,installanewbladebeforethe
cuttingseasonbegins.
•ReplacethebladewhennecessarywithaToro
replacementblade.
CuttingGrass
•Cutonlyaboutathirdofthegrassbladeatatime.Donot
cutbelowthe54mm(2-1/8inch)settingunlessthegrass
issparseoritislatefallwhengrassgrowthbeginstoslow
down.RefertoAdjustingtheCuttingHeight(page11).
•Whencuttinggrassover15cm(6inches)tall,mowatthe
highestcuttingheightsettingandwalkslower;thenmow
againatalowersettingforthebestlawnappearance.If
thegrassistoolong,themachinemayplugandcause
theenginetostall.
•Mowonlydrygrassorleaves.Wetgrassandleavestend
toclumpontheyardandcancausethemachinetoplug
ortheenginetostall.
•Beawareofapotentialrehazardinverydryconditions,
followalllocalrewarnings,andkeepthemachinefree
ofdrygrassandleafdebris.
•Alternatethemowingdirection.Thishelpsdispersethe
clippingsoverthelawnforevenfertilization.
