as these meet the PMR-446 standard.
The Alecto FR-60 is in accordance with the

FUNCTIONS
INSTALLATION
POWER SOURCE:
The FR-60 works on the supplied rechargeable
NiMH batteries, 4 x size AAA, power 4.8V or
by using 4 AAA penlite batteries (excl.). If you
decide to install separate rechargeable batter-
ies, you’ll need to recharge these in an external
charger. The recharge station that comes with
the FR-60 is only suitable for recharging the
supplied battery packs.
1. First, remove the belt clip by pressing the lock
tab back and pushing the belt clip upwards
and out of the radiophone.
2. Now open the battery compartment by releas-
ing the tab at the bottom and lifting the bat-
tery cover.
3. Install the batteries as indicated and pay
attention to
the polarities
(+ and -).
4. Close the bat-
tery compart-
ment and put
the belt clip
back on the
radiophone.
CHARGER:
Plug the adaptor into a 230V 50Hz wall socket
and place the walkie-talkies onto the recharge
station to charge the batteries, the charge indi-
cators will now turn red.
CHARGING:
Charging the FR-60 units is timer-controlled. As
soon as you place the walkie-talkies into the char-
ger, the red charge indicators will switch on and
the battery pack starts charging. When the light
turns green, the charging period is finished and the
battery pack is fully charged. However, you don’t
need to wait for the light to become green, but that
means the batteries may not be fully charged. Each
time you replace the batteries (even when not yet
exhausted) the timer circuit will restart. There’s no
risk of overcharging, because the charging current
is electronically restricted.
Attention: When installing individual AAA batter-
ies, you can still place the walkie-talkies onto the
charger, but the charge indicators won’t light up
and the batteries will not be charged. You can also
place the units on the charger when using non-
rechargeable batteries.

The FR-60 is provided with a connection for a
headset with a 2.5mm plug at the right side,
underneath the rubber cap.

USER TIPS
GENERAL:
The FR-60 is a transmitter/receiver working with
radio waves on the 446 MHz band. Its signal
transmission can be affected by external influ-
ences such as other radiophones, transmitters,
wireless phones, etc. When your radiophone
is being interfered with or causes interference,
simply changing the channel usually solves this
problem.
The use of this radiophone is permitted in all
the countries of the EU. If you want to bring the
FR-60 to countries outside the EU, you should
consult the local restrictions on the use of
PMR446 equipment.
Don’t forget that the signal of the FR-60 can
also be heard by radiophones or receivers other
than yours.
It is in no way allowed to make any changes
to the electronics or the antenna of the FR-60.
Service must be performed by qualified service
personnel only.
Never use the FR-60 outdoors during thunder-
storms.
POWER SUPPLY:
The battery symbol on the display shows the
current charge of the installed batteries:
batteries full
batteries 1/3 full, please recharge or
replace immediately
Only recharge the supplied battery packs by
placing the FR-60 onto the supplied charger.
Don’t forget to turn off the walkie-talkie before
placing it in the charger.
Individual rechargeable batteries must be
charged in a separate charger.
Never try to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
RADIO CONNECTION:
The FR-60 has an effective range from up
to 7Km. This range can be affected by local
conditions such as high buildings, high voltage
posts and overhead wires. An optimal range is
achieved when the radiophone has a clear sight
of the receiver.
CTCSS:
A handset without CTCSS code setting can
receive the signals from all handset transmitting
on the same channel. You can only talk back
when you set up the same CTCSS code as the
other handset.
MAINTENANCE:
- Only clean the FR-60 with a moist cloth.
- Never place the radiophone in direct sunlight
or humid environments.
- Prevent water and/or sand from penetrating
the FR-60.
- In case of any problems, always check first
whether the FR-60 does work correctly on a
different location.
ENVIRONMENT:
- When discarding your radiophone, please
return it to your dealer. They can guarantee
environment-friendly disposal.
- You can return exhausted batteries to the
dealer of these radiophones or to your local
collection point for small chemical
waste.
- Never dispose of empty or exhausted
batteries as normal domestic waste.
