PRODUCT SERIES/ MODEL: Mig 5XL Feeder Pulse Control Module (Model- EC-05V-02)

SERIAL NO: SN - 0463.11.02 and greater

SUMMARY: The Mig 5XL Pulse control Control Module has been upgraded with two LED calibration

lamps to simplify the synchronization of the control module and gun. The use of the

LED’s eliminates the strobe light synchronization method. This control does not differ

functionally from the older models except for the addition of the LED’s. Follow the

instruction below to use the LED calibration method.

OPERATIONAL IMPACT: None

ACTION: Synchronization Instructions using LED’s

1. Set-Up the gun and feeder with the proper guides and springs for the wire type and .035 or

3/64” diameter.

2. Thread the wire through the feeder, gun, goose neck and install the contact tip. Move the

tension nut on the gun back to apply feed roll tension to the wire.

3. Important

- Set the gun speed knob to the maximum speed.

4. Depress the gun trigger and feed wire.

5. While wire is feeding, adjust the “Synchronization “ pot

on the top of the control module (see

figures) until BOTH LED’s are colored ORANGE. Note - Be sure the lamps have the same

shade of orange. Small differences in color shades mean the calibration is not optimized.

The synchronization, once completed, is then optimized for both 4000 and 5000 aluminum

alloys and wire diameters of .035, 3/64 and 1/16”.
