s NOTICE: Do not boil the probe. Clean the unit by wiping it with a dry cloth and disinfect the probe with isopropyl
alcohol.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
1. Wipeordipthethermometerprobewithisopropylalcoholtodisinfect.
2. DepresstheON/OFFbutton.Atonewillsoundasthescreendisplays M.Thescreenwillthendisplaythelast
recordedtemperature,andwillthenbeinmeasurementmode..
3. Positionthermometerindesiredlocation(mouth,rectum,orunderarm)asdescribedinfollowingparagraphs.
Oral Use:Placetheprobeundertongueasindicatedby“”positionshowninFigure2.Closeyourmouth
andbreatheevenlythroughthenosetopreventthemeasurementfrombeinginuencedbyinhaled/exhaled
air.Normaloraltemperatureisapproximatelybetween96.3°Fand99.1°F(35.7°Cand37.3°C).
Rectal Use:Ifusingaprobecovertohelppreventcrossinfectionandcontamination,insertthermometerprobe
intotheprobecover,thenlubricatetheprobecoverwithawatersolublejellyforeasierinsertion.Donotuse
petroleumjelly.Note: Use of the probe cover may result in a 0.2°F (0.1°C) difference from actual temperature.
Ifnotusingaprobecover,lubricatetheprobewithpetroleumjelly.Insertprobenomorethan½inch(1cm)into
rectum.Stopifyoumeetanyresistance.Thesensingdeviceisonthetipoftheprobeandthereisnoneedtoinserttheprobe
deepintotherectum.Normalrectaltemperatureisapproximatelybetween97.2°Fand99.9°F(36.2°Cand37.7°C).

Please read carefully before using
Underarm Use (Axillary):Wipeunderarmdry.Placeprobeunderarmandkeeparmpressedrmlytoside.Normalunderarm
temperatureisapproximatelybetween95.4°Fand98.1°F(35.2°Cand36.7°C).Note: From a medical point of view, underarm
method provides inaccurate measurements, and should not be used if precise measurement is required.
4. Thedegreesignashesthroughoutthemeasurementprocess.Whenmeasurementiscomplete,thealarmbeepsfor
approximately10seconds,thedegreesignstopsashing,andthecorrecttemperatureisshown.Thetemperature
measurementwillcontinuetodisplayoncethealarmhasstopped,thedegreesignhasstoppedashing,andthe
thermometerismovedfrommeasurementlocation.
Note:
If the measured temperature is less than 90°F (32°C), the screen will display Lo;
If the measured temperature is greater than 109.9°F (42.9°C), the screen will display Hi.
5. Thethermometerwillautomaticallyturnoffinapproximatelytenminutes.Toprolongbatterylife,turnthethermometeroffby
pressingtheON/OFFbuttononcethetemperaturehasbeennoted.
Normal Temperature Alarm:Whenthepeaktemperaturehasregistered,the“NormalTemperature”alarm(evenlyspaced
beeps)willsoundforapproximately10seconds.
Fever Alarm:Whenthepeaktemperaturehasregisteredhigherthan100.0°F(37.8°C),thefeveralarm(quickbeeps)will
soundforapproximately10seconds.
Automatic Last Temperature Recall:WhentheON/OFFbuttonispressedtoactivatethethermometer,thedisplaywill
changetoshowthelastmeasuredtemperaturevalue,thenentermeasurementmode.
Fahrenheit and Celsius Switchable:ToswitchFahrenheitorCelsiusmode:withtheunitoff,pressandholdtheON/OFF
buttonforapproximatelyfourseconds.
Note: Always disinfect the thermometer before use.
Note: When nished, dispose of any used probe shield and store the thermometer in a safe place.

1. Replacethebatterywhenthesymbol“ ”appearsinLCDlowercorner.
2. PullthebatterycoveroffasshowninFigure3.
3. Gentlypulloutplasticcircuitboardwithbatterychamber
approximately1cm(slightlylessthan1/2inch)asshowninFigure4.
4. Useapointedobjectsuchasatoothpickorpentoremovethe
oldbatteryDiscardbatteryinaccordancewithlocalandfederal
regulations.
5. Placeanew1.5VDCbutton-sizebattery,typeLR41orSR41,UCC392orequivalent,inthebatterychamberwithnegative
side(–)downandpositiveside(+)upasshowninFigure5.
6. Slidebatterychamberbackintoplaceandattachcover.
WARNING: Discard the old battery carefully, out of the reach of children. Swallowing the battery could be harmful
or fatal. If the battery is inadvertently swallowed, contact a hospital immediately to have it removed. Do not
dispose of the battery in a re. It may explode.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Tocleanthethermometer,washthetipwithasolutionofmilddetergentandcoolwater.Todisinfectthethermometer,wipethe
sensorandlowerstemwithacleanclothdippedinisopropylalcohol.

SCOPE OF WARRANTY
GFHealthProducts,Inc.(“GF”)warrantstotheoriginalpurchaseronlythatitwillreplaceorrepaircomponents,atGF’ssolediscretion,thatare
defectiveinmaterialorworkmanshipundernormaluseandservice.Allwarrantiesareconditionedupontheproperuseoftheproductsstrictlyin
accordancewithgoodcommercialpracticeandapplicableGFinstructionsandmanuals,includingproperuseandmaintenance.Totheextentthata
componentiswarrantedbyathirdparty,GFconveysallofitsrightsunderthatwarrantytotheoriginalpurchaser,totheextentpermitted.
ThislimitedwarrantyshallonlyapplytodefectsthatarereportedtoGF’scustomerserviceteamwithintheapplicablewarrantyperiodandwhich,
uponexaminationbyGForitsauthorizedrepresentative,provetobeawarrantyitem.Thislimitedwarrantyisnottransferable.Withintheguidelines
setforthinthisdocument,thisproductiswarrantedforone(1)year.Theapplicablewarrantyperiodshallcommencefromdateofshipmenttothe
originalcustomer,unlessthereisanexpirationdateonthecomponentinwhichcasethewarrantyshallexpireontheearlierofwarrantyperiodor
theexpirationdate.
OBTAINING WARRANTY SERVICE
ThislimitedwarrantyshallonlyapplytodefectsthatarereportedtotheDistributorfromwhomtheCustomerpurchasedtheproductwithinthe

1) Defects,damage,orotherconditionscaused,inwholeorinpart,bymisuse,abuse,negligence,alteration,accident,freightdamage,tampering
orfailuretoseekandobtainrepairorreplacementinatimelymanner;
2) Productswhicharenotinstalled,used,orproperlycleanedandmaintainedasrequiredintheofcialmanualfortheapplicableproduct;

whicharenotexpresslyauthorizedinwriting,inadvance,byGF;
6) Anylabororshippingchargesincurredinthereplacementpartinstallationorrepair;
7) Costsandexpensesofregularmaintenanceandcleaning;and
8) RepresentationsandwarrantiesmadebyanypersonorentityotherthanGF.
