the risk of re, electric shock, and personal injury, including the following:
WARNING
This cutting machine is capable of amputating hands and feet and throwing objects. Failure to
observe the following safety instructions could result in serious injury or death.
GENERAL OPERATION
• Read, understand, and follow all instructions on the machine and in the manual(s) before
starting.
• DOUBLE-INSULATED. When servicing use only identical replacement parts.
• In order to reduce the risk of electric shock, this lawn mower is equipped with a polarized
plug (one blade is wider than the other), and must be used with a polarized extension cord.
The lawn mower’s plug will only t into the polarized extension cord one way. If the plug does
not t into the extension cord properly, reverse the plug. If the plug still does not t, obtain a
proper polarized extension cord. A polarized extension cord must be plugged into a polarized
wall outlet. This plug will only t into the polarized outlet one way. If the plug does not t into
the outlet properly, reverse the plug. If the plug still does not t, contact a qualied electrician
to install a proper outlet. Do not alter the lawn mower’s plug, the receptacle on the extension
cord, or the plug on the extension cord in any way.
• Avoid Dangerous Environment – Don’t use lawn mowers in damp or wet locations.
• Don’t Use In Rain.
• Be sure the area is clear of bystanders before operating. All visitors should be kept a safe
distance from work area, and stop machine if anyone enters the area.
• Dress Properly – Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry, and do not operate machine
barefooted or while wearing sandals .They can be caught in moving parts. Use of rubber
gloves and footwear is recommended when working outdoors.
• Use Safety Glasses – Always use face or dust mask if operation is dusty.
• Use Right Appliance – Do not use lawn mower for any job except that for which it is intended.
• Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protection should be provided on the circuit(s) or
outlet(s) to be used for the lawn mower. Receptacles are available having built-in GFCI
protection and may be used for this measure of safety.
• Warning – To prevent electric shock use only with an extension cord suitable for outdoor use,
such as SW, SOW, STW, STOW, SJW, SJOW, SJTW, or SJTOW.
• Extension Cord: Verify that the extension cord is in good condition, is heavy enough to carry
the current that your mower will draw, and is polarized (one blade of the plug is wider than the
other). A 100’ (30.5 m) extension cord should be of 14 AWG, a 50’ (15.3 m) extension cord
should be 16 AWG, and a 150’ (45.7 m) extension cord should be 12 AWG. Undersized cords
cause a drop in the line voltage, which leads to a loss of power and overheating.
• Do not abuse the cord. Do not carry the power tool by the power cord or yank the cord in
order to disconnect it from the receptacle. Keep cord from heat, oil, and sharp edges.
• Don’t Force Lawn Mower – It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was
designed.
