Operating Instructions
Please read these instructions thoroughly before use.
General description:
The A 0967 is a magnifying lamp, with flexible metal goose-neck.
Features:
• 5-diopter, 90mm glass lens.
• A plastic lid is provided to protect the magnifying lens when it is not in use.
• 12W fluorescent tube.
•Angle-adjustable flexible metal goose-neck (30cm in length).
•Weighted base to ensure stability at all angles.
General Operation:
1. Remove the protective bags and cardboard from the A 0967.
2. Place the A 0967 on a level, strong non-slip work bench or table.
3. Plug the lamp in to an AC outlet. Ensure the connection is firm and safe.
4. Lift the plastic lid off the lens, then switch on the lamp. The on/off rocker switch is located on the base.
5. Ensure the lamp is switched off when not required. Place the plastic lid over the magnifying lens when
the magnifier is not in use.

Replacing the Flourescent Tube:
1. Switch off the lamp. Disconnect the mains plug from the AC outlet.
2. Remove the screws holding the plastic cover which sits over the 12W tube, then remove the plastic
cover.
3. Gently remove the failed tube. Carefully insert a new tube (Altronics part number A 0969). Ensure the
connection between the tube and the lamp socket is firm and safe.
4. Replace the plastic cover and insert the screws.
Replacing the Flourescent Starter:
1. Switch off the lamp. Disconnect the mains plug from the AC outlet.
2. The starter is located on the underside of the lamp.
3. Twist the starter to remove it. Insert a new Australian approved, universal 4-22W or 4-80W starter.
4. Plug the lamp to the AC outlet. Switch the lamp on to test the result.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If after replacing the lamp or starter, the lamp still does not work correctly, switch it off immediately.
Unplug the unit and return it to your place of purchase for inspection.
WARNING AND CAUTIONS:
• This lamp is designed for indoor use only.
• Never place the magnifying lens direct under sunlight, as focused light from the mag-
nifying lens could result in fire. Always replace the lens cover when not in use.
• Clean the lamp with a dry cloth. Never use solvent or liquids to wipe the lamp.
• DO NOT attempt to open the lamp - there are no user serviceable parts inside. In case
of an emergency, unplug the lamp from the AC outlet immediately and seek assistance
from a qualified technician.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an authorised service centre.
