Thank you for your purchase of the ARC-MIC-PRE. The ARC-MIC-PRE is designed to convert a
line level input to a mic level input for connecting dynamic or condenser microphones. It is
extremely easy to setup, especially for ARC series consoles.
SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1 – Connect the Mic 1 Out as well as the Mic 2 Out (optional) to your console inputs.
The mic outputs are RJ45 connections, and can directly plug in to the balanced ARC series
console RJ45 inputs, using an ethernet cable.
STEP 2 – Connect your Microphones to the Mic 1 IN and Mic 2 IN (optional) to the front of
the ARC-MIC-PRE.
STEP 3 – Connect the power supply to the DC Power input on your ARC-MIC-PRE. This is a
specific supply, and no other power supply should be used.
STEP 4 (OPTIONAL) – If you are using condenser microphones, you will need to purchase the
ARC-48V phantom power supply. This supply will connect to the 48V Power on the rear of the
ARC-MIC-PRE.
IMPORTANT NOTE – Be sure to unplug the ARC-48V supply whenever you want to plug or
unplug the condenser microphone from the ARC-MIC-PRE.
IMPORTANT NOTE – Use of an incorrect power supply will often result in damaging the ARC-
MIC-PRE, and anything it is connected to.

LOGIC
There is no logic wiring for the ARC-MIC-PRE. Which means that these ARC-MIC-PRE mic
channels will not mute the audio monitor speakers or turn on an on-air light. When using with
the ARC series consoles, it is recommended to put guest microphones on the ARC-MIC-PRE
inputs. This is because the host will usually be on mic channel 1 or 2 on the ARC series
console, and will typically have their microphone channel turned on when live. Thus muting
the monitor speakers and turning the on-air light on.
Audio Level Adjustment
Both Mic 1 IN and Mic 2 IN are calibrated at the factory for typical microphone gain levels. But
it may be necessary to adjust the audio levels. To do so, there are two trimpot adjustments on
the front of the ARC-MIC-PRE. Turn clockwise to increase level, counter-clockwise to decrease
the audio level.
