Peavey T-20 is a high-output, single-coil pickup with a blade pole piece that provides full-range operation. The pickup is "harmonically" placed on the body/pickguard to allow greater response from the fundamentals and overtones to be obtained from each string. The pickup is mounted to the pickguard with an integral mounting ring/thumb rest combination to maximize right-hand playing angle and comfort.

The T-20's circuitry is conventional, with the exception of the tone-compensating volume control, which minimizes high frequency losses when operated at reduced volume levels. However, full volume settings will maximize the tonal capabilities. The volume level should therefore be controlled at the amplifier whenever possible.
