Assembly
Warning! Make sure that the tool is switched off.
Fitting the batteries (fig. A)
◆ Remove the battery cover (6) from the tool.
◆ Insert the batteries into the tool in the orientation as shown.
◆ Refit the cover and let it click into place.
Installing the tool (fig. B)
The tool can be installed on a horizontal surface such as a
floor or a table. To optimise the length of the laser line,
the tool must be installed onto its bracket. Alternatively,
the tool can be mounted to a wall.
Fitting the tool to the mounting bracket
◆ Install the unit by clinging the bottom to the magnet (7).
◆ To remove the unit from the bracket, pull the unit off.
Wall mounting (fig. B & C)
The round plate in the bottom of the wall mount rotates to
three positions in order to facilitate wall mounting using a
screw (I), a small nail (II), or an adhesive strip (III).
Keyhole wall mount
The keyhole wall mount (8) is used for mounting to most wall
constructions.
◆ Drive a screw or nail into the wall.
◆ Rotate the plate (9) into position (I).
◆ Hang the bracket onto the fastener by the keyhole (8).
◆ Fit the tool to the bracket.
Wall pin
If the unit is mounted to drywall or other soft materials, a wall
pin must be used:
◆ Rotate the plate (9) into position (II).
◆ Hold the bracket against the wall.
◆ Drive a small nail through the hole into the wall.
◆ Fit the tool to the bracket.
Adhesive strip
If the unit is mounted to surfaces where screws or nails
cannot be used, a removable adhesive adhesive strip must be
used. Adhesive strips can be obtained from your local retailer.
Warning! Test the strip on an inconspicuous area to make
sure it does not damage the surface material.
◆ Rotate the plate (9) into position (III).
◆ Peel the protective foil from one side of the strip.
◆ Stick the strip to the bracket.
◆ Peel the protective foil from the other side of the strip.
◆ Press the bracket with the strip to the wall.
◆ Fit the tool to the bracket.
To remove the strip, proceed as follows:
◆ Remove the tool from the bracket.
◆ Hold the bracket with one hand and grasp the end of the
adhesive strip with the other hand.
◆ Slowly stretch the strip parallel to the wall and away from
the bracket, until the entire strip has released.
◆ Dispose of the strip.
Use
◆ Install the tool as required.
◆ Switch the tool on.
◆ Adjust the position of the tool as necessary to position
the laser lines. Be aware that extreme temperature
changes may affect the adjustment of the unit.
◆ After finishing work, always switch off the tool.
Switching on and off
◆ To switch on, slide the switch (1) into position I.
◆ To switch off, slide the switch (1) into position 0.
Levelling the laser lines (fig. D & E)
◆ When projecting laser lines in horizontal applications,
adjust the unit as necessary until the vials (4) are level.
◆ When projecting laser lines in vertical applications, adjust
the unit as necessary until one of the vials (4) is level.
Using the scale
The scale (5) can be used to transfer a square angle.
◆ Position the unit with the laser lines at the starting point.
◆ Align the 0° position on the scale with one of the laser
beams.
◆ Holding the bracket (3) with one hand, position the tool
with the other hand as necessary.
Cleaning and maintenance
Your tool has been designed to operate over a long period of
time with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory
operation depends upon proper tool care and regular cleaning.
◆ To clean the tool, use only mild soap and a damp cloth.
Never let any liquid get inside the tool and never immerse
any part of the tool into liquid.
